This number has been repeatedly texting me even when I don't answer. He pretended to be one of my college friends. When my actual college friend confirmed it wasn't him, I blocked the number right away

I received a very strange and creepy message from this same number. Googled it and found all of these reports. DO NOT respond to him. He finds your number on Facebook or LinkedIn and tries to lure you in by using basic information about you taken off the websites. DO NOT REPLY!!

I almost screamed out loud when I saw the name Robert Fenstermarcher. 2 years ago I got a text from someone saying they went to college with me, but the texts got creepy real fast, he eventually kept asking me what sexy shoes I wear. he never told me his name though, and I though it was friends playing a joke on me. I got a text today from a radom number saying my name and I'm a "Kind and beautiful girl!!"
When I googled the number and saw the first post I almost screamed because I was Facebook friends with him, but I defriended him because his posts were just weird and I had a feeling it may have been him that texted me 2 years ago. I went to undergrad where he went to get his masters in health care administration.  
When I looked Robert Fenstermarcher up on FB and showed his pic to my sister (she went to the same college as me) she did scream out loud because she said he use to hang around at senior social events and stalk this one girl. My sis thinks guys had a "talk" to him because he stopped hanging around.
I'm not sure how he got my number either because I don't think I hada linkden account.

I got a text today from this number saying I was a kind and beautiful girl. Normally I don't respond to people I don't know... I did and asked who it was. Knowin it could potentially be someone from college that I didn't have their number etc. Said his name was rob Thomas and we met at a depRtment store awhile back. I don't give out my number ESP to people I don't know. I'm a meteorologist and the only place my number is on is my résumé feel and fb(but only for friends) I had a few text chat with him about Xmas shopping but that was it. Googled the number cuz I was curious and found these postings. I'm creeped out to say the least!

I am a reporter too and really think he is getting it from our resume reels because I've taken rigorous steps to not have any of my information online as far as phone number or address. I'm not even searchable on facebook, so he had to have gotten it from my reel! one of the best things you girls can do to protect yourself is take all your personal/searchable information off any websites and create separate email accounts for work offers (that way when a creeper contacts you, you know you never met them and dont even have to respond), and even have a separate, work specific line for job calls, such as just a voicemail service for news directors to leave messages on or a separate line under a family share plan only for those types of calls that can't receive texts so you KNOW its a scam/creeper if you are ever contacted on it by anyone other than for a job) ... I tried reporting the incident to the authorities but they tell me there isn't much they can do. go figure. i cant believe what lengths this guy goes to, to connect with women. FYI, he used the name "Rob Thomas" for me.

I had this incident happen on the same day as you. I contacted campus security, and I am going to file a complaint with the local police department this afternoon. I am afraid and couldn't sleep last night.

I received texts from this number in late may saying he knew me from a place I worked at years ago, and just got a text saying I'm "a kind and beautiful girl". What can we do to get this to stop?

I was just texted by this person too. I am also a new college graduate trying to make it as a reporter. Why is he targeting reporters? That is so weird and scary that he lies about knowing us.

Does anyone know who we should report this guy too so he gets stopped?

Had the same thing happen yesterday to my girlfriend. He texted her saying he was Rob Springman and that she was kind and beautiful. Proceeded to say they met at school, blah blah blah. I came upon this site, found the account he uses and reported it to Linkedin. I also reported it to Verizon.

Creeps like this need to be taken care of through law enforcement. They will be also notified!

I got a text from this number saying I'm a "mature and beautiful girl". I normally DO NOT answer these texts but I knew the area code. However he said he was Rob Snyder from Philly. I knew I did not know this person and simple goggled his number and found this site. Therefore, I'm officially creeped out.
Like others here I have a LinkedIn but my phone number is not on it.

Received a text from this number saying I was a "kind and beautiful girl." The person said his name was Rob and we met around my college campus. Thankfully I googled the phone number and read this forum so I knew this person was some creep. When I called him out on his bluff, he stopped texting. I am also a young reporter so I think he potentially gets our phone numbers off of our reel resumes because my phone number is not on LinkedIn.

I am a reporter and I just received a text from "Rob", saying I'm a kind and beautiful girl...and that he lived near Boston. This is a weird trend going on. I just asked him how he got my phone number, so we will see if he responds...

Had very similar experience as those described previously.  Received an out-of-the-blue, and inappropriate, text message from this number today, saying that I was "a mature and beautiful girl." I asked who it was, and he said his name was Mike Adams.  He said that he was "the Mike that said I have nice hair".  In my research for trying to figure out who this person was, I came across this website.  Ninja said to check your LinkedIn profile to see if Robert Fenstermacher (aka, in my case, Mike Adams) did recently request to connect, and sure enough, he did.  I accepted his request being that he claims to be in the same field of work as me (health field).  Now I know that he was only trying to connect with me (and plenty of other women) to stalk me/us and just be a total creep.  

What is the best authority to report this incident to? This man needs to be stopped.  It's so incredibly creepy.

Hey, yes I'm a reporter as well, though in college. But I got a text from this number before, same story, said he knew me blah blah. Really strange.

Got a similar text....  Are any of you news reporters/anchors, by chance?  Trying to find a trend here...  I work for the news and have had a creeper recently.

He texted me in February claiming to know me from college, but he gave all false info.  I called him on his bluff and asked him where he got my number from.  He never responded again.  Then, a few weeks later, he started texting another girl from my university course of study, playing the same game. Now, he's texting me again.

This number texted me yesterday and said we once had a conversation where I work and went on about how kind I was, how I was wearing nice shoes, and that I gave him my number. I don't ever give my number out to people I don't know, so I was already certain it was a lie. He said his name is "Robert Adams" from Bayada Nurses/Bayada Home Health Care. It turns out the Robert Fenstermacher was correct. He added me a few days ago on LinkedIn and was apparently creeping on me. I'm still not sure how he got my cell number, but BEWARE!! I blocked him from contacting me, but check for him on your LinkedIn if you have one because he added almost every single university in Northeastern Pennsylvania (presumably to get into the networks of women he wants to stalk. I also found him on facebook and he has well over 1,000 friends, and most of them are women. LOOK OUT!!

This number keeps texting me. Says his name is rob fenstermacher. But I don't know him.
