same text message but just said it was deactivated and gave a partial visa number which does not match my cards. i did call the number back, but it said it was a non working number

Got the same scam message on 9/6. My first clue was that is was for a credit card I don't own or one I cancelled 8 months ago. Sent out an alert to my family to ensure they don't call if they get a similar text.

Got the scam by text this morning. Just ignoring it but wish I could do more. Do not know name of company but have reason to believe it could be coming from the college or university.

Rec'd text from 570-245-6564 claiming my Visa was "deactivated." I did NOT call back as requested due to the scam-stink spewing from every crack of this message. Meanwhile, at my bank's ATM, the "deactivated" card works fine. I have some strong rope, and know of a wonderful tree. What fun it would be to deactivate these thieves, and whistle my way back home.

got text saying visa/mastercard was deactivated due to unauthorized charges. called # and said to activate card enter my 16 digit card #. I hung up
