This is nuts! Another 'out of area' number.  Can't they make them Identify themselves????  I'm to the point I don't answer if I don't know who it is.

Called on a business line. Will not leave a voice mail. I assume it is more of this "car warranty" nonsense.

I keep getting calls from this service. it is some outfit trying to sell extended warranty's for automobiles. They do not honor requests to remove your number from their list. In fact, when the call comes in from their auto-dailer, you're presented with two options; 1) Talk to someone and 2) Remove your name from the list. If you press 2 (as I have done every time they call), it just hangs up on you, but doesn't appear to remove you from a list because the calls just keep on coming.

I received a call from this number. I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number. After reading this, I am glad I didn't!! How do you stop this?

I had to pretend I was interested in the services in order to sweet talk the name of the company out of the representative. I immediately hung up in his face like they've repeatedly done to me, called the office at 800-376-5644 and chewed out one of the managers there. They finally removed my number from their calling list after 8 months of calling weekly.

I keep receiving calls from this number on my Sprint Cell Phone...it costs me minutes & dollars.  Could this be a Sprint practice to up my fees with add'l minutes used?

Received a call at 4:31am - Right after some pretty scary earthquakes here in No.NV at about 2:30am. - Scared the ... out of me. I thought for sure it was going to be someone hurt or something - so I jump out of bed, find the ... cell phone and I find my warranty is about to expire...I don't own a car. Is the warranty on my feet? ... How do you shut these people down?

It doesn't help to try to call back Joy Birdsall or whoever else's name turns up on your phone, as the caller ID is probably 'spoofed' in the first place.  Look up 'Caller ID Spoofing' on Wikipedia if you don't know what that is.

I feel sorry for Joy Birdsall.  She has a lynch mob out there looking for her and she probably has zero to do with this telemarketing scam.

Yep... vehicle warranty about to expire! Haven't had a warranty on a vehicle in over 15 years! They just called, and it came up as Joy Birdsall 570-596-4591. I want to know why we don't have the ability through our phone provider to block specific #'s/types of #'s from calling us... or allow us to set #'s we want calls from!! Another scam! It never ends!

Unsolicited sales call.

Just got my 2nd call from these guys. I had filed a complaint to the FCC last week, now they called with a different number. Got some a-hole the first time when I pressed one, this time I just hung up.

I just got a phone call from this number too!  I'm so glad we have the internet, I would've been scratching my head for days trying to figure out who called me from that area code! :)

Went to voice-mail ... left it there.  I get several calls a day from these scamsters on my land-line, this is the first to my cell.

called me and got the same recording all you guys are talking about. I'm 14 years old! i don't have a car! This is bull**** they think they're funny or something?

I just got a call from this # 570-596-4591 Bentley Creek, PA and did not pick it up.  This is NOT the first of many fraudulent phone #'s that has called and I've complained about.  I recently discovered that where once only land-lines received such phone calls now it is cell phones as well since a detailed list of every cell phone owner and their #'s is now open and available to market research companies plus to anyone who pays them for this list of information,  so unfortunately it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon.
The best bet is simply to NOT answer the call at all. Any # you ARE  familiar with should be in your cell phone list and appear on your screen as someone you know. If an UNknown # appears, do NOT answer it and do NOT call it back or you may be charged way more than you think for doing so and your cell phone carrier will NOT reverse the charges...

sounds like my experience. a chauvinistic man was calling me a sissy, telling my i was stupid and i was staying calm the entire time. he got really upsetet that he wasnt upsetting me and started to tell me how cute he was when he was upset. i asked to speak to a manager/supervisor and he said there weren't any. he kept asking for my phone number, i refused to give it to him because he obviously has it; he called me. he started to yell and i hung up and called the dealership i just bought my car from. they are looking into it and it sounds like we need to alert the feds on this. it was outrageous. he called my cell and knew too much about me.

I got a call from this stupid number too, but my iPhone shows unknown.  I agree the number is probably faked.  The Feds should look into it, as it crosses state lines.

how do they get these numbers?  The only people that have the number that they call me on is my bank as emergency contact and my kids. They must be just mass dialing every phone number and get us randomly?

got a call a minute ago about the warrenty crap (mine expires in 2011), called back twice and it was busy both times. hmm

threaten them by saying you will file a police report if they were to call even one more time. that stopped them.

Got a call about my 'warranty' reporting to be from this number. IMPORTANT PEOPLE, the caller id number they send you is fake, don't call back the poor slobs that actually own the number, they are victims just like those of us getting calls from the scam artists.

Another 'your warranty is about to expire' scam call.  I am getting 2 annoying calls daily.  These scammers have been saying this is my last notice for about a year now. Its a different area code today.  Think I will keep track of the differnt numbers.  What does it take to arrest these guys?
