Just received call from this number. Male asked for another household member. I said that they were unavailable and asked to take a message. They hung up. Well, either that or we were disconnected.
The Answer 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
Send them a fax. Make sure it keeps trying to send it if it isn't accepted. Send them a decline the offer fax and see how they like that on their phone system.

I have had similar experiences. The growling phone calls and the never ending calls wanting to sign us up for insurance on our paid off credit cards. The call for my husband and I we both have an account with HSBC. Even if you ask them to stop calling they don't. I just called the compliance manager and had our number put on their no call list. Very easy and simple. Got ahold of someone in less than a minute. call this 800# 1-800-799-6880. Ask to speak with the compliance manager. Hope that helps. Oh and he said that the growling was a system glitch. ha ha sure whatever. They were trying to work out the bugs.

I live in South Carolina and just recieved a call from this # as well. No one in our househould has a HSBC account.
I answered and the phone it was silent and then it went disconnected.
I hate TELEMARKETERS!!!!............A$$HOLES!
Anonymous 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
I thought I was going insane... When they call no one is ever there, sometimes it sounds like a lion growling. SCARY STUFF.
Thanks for the number Rick Gabrille @ 1-267-685-5995
I'll call it as many times as they call me until they stop.
I do have a credit card with HSBC. I was a bit behind, but just paid it in full. Maybe that is just their method of harassment? Hopefully it will stop soon. The "lion" sounds CREEPY!
Christain 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
Do you think these calls are coming from somebody using some kind of spoofing phone card ? Christian.
Anonymous 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
It's HSBC Customer Service
Beth 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
I keep receiving calls and I decline, but they leave no message. I call it back and it is HSBC sales and I have the option to remove my number from their list and then when they call back the next day it is a total different number, but still HSBC. It is very aggrevating!!
pissed consumer 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
I have been receiving these calls as well. I called the ICT number that Angry Cas. 1-800-799-6880 gave above. I then got transferred to Rick Gabrille @ 1-267-685-5995 and he stated he could get it corected but it would take about a week.
These calls are scaring my family. These people should be arrested.

Just received a call at work. A computer asked for me, I asked who it was and it sounded like a little girl saying "Are you there? Are you there?" VEry strange.
no one of any significance 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
I got this minute long message on my answering machine. Scared me actually. I thought it was a demon calling. Turns out it was a telemarketer...even worse. I'd gladly except a phone call from Old Scratch himself rather than talk to any more telemarketers.

I received a call tonight 01-04-08 from this number that referred to HSBC customer services. The caller asked for me by name and then asked for me to verify my name from a recording. Once I said it was my name but not my voice on the recording we were disconnected. Sounds pretty fishy....
Angry Cas 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
This number just called on my house phone. ICT for HSBC or something like that. I did a lot of research and learned they are a very nasty company and can get away with calling you if you have anything related to their company.
The phone call went as follows:
"Hello?"
"Hi, may I speak with _____?"
"She's not here right now, can I take a message?"
"No, this isn't something I can leave a message for. Bye."
"OK???"
There was lots of screaming in the background and it sounded like they had animals in cages rattling around back there. I emailed their phishing site (on the HSBC website) and have been calling every number affiliated with them to complain.
Here are some numbers to call:
The original number: 571-283-6424 (recording)
HSBC (they take FOREVER to pick up): 847-564-5000 (live help)
ICT Corporate (best number to call): 1-800-799-6880 (live help)
When you call corporate, tell them you've called 4 times now and keep getting transferred to a voicemail. Demand to speak with an actual person who will remedy this situation. Do not give out any information other than your phone number.

Have gotten calls from this number regularly for several weeks; didn't anwer. Wife answered this morning and asked who was calling. They would never say, just that they would like to speak to "the cardholder." She didn't respond. They asked if there was a better time to call; she said "no." They hung up. Didn't realize one of our cards was related to HSBC. Better check.

HAVE RECEIVED THE SAME CALL NUMEROUS TIMES, SOUNDS LIKE A COMPUTER-CONTROLLED PRE-RECORD SYSTEM. WE HAVE A HSBC CREDIT CARD, GOING TO CALL THEM TODAY!

Got a call from the afore mentioned #. Guy on the other end asked for my wife, asked him who was calling and he got very rude with me.
Told him to drop the attitude when calling MY PHONE number.
He hung up!
Did some research it ended up being a telemarketing company called ITC who apparently is working for hsbc credit card.
Probably outsourced to some country aboad who hates the us....
Guy probably makes 25 cents and hour...

Caller ID lists the call as coming from "HSBC Customer Service" - - no message left when I didn't pick up the call
Unsettled 2011-06-06 20:51:47 Unknown
Yeah.. They left a message that sounded like a big cat growling...

I am not sure just what is taking place with the credit card companies that have hired outside source to call and try to get money. They end up calling some of your family members, and I do not know how they get the numbers. I am betting on the fact somehow they have access to our telephone bills, and are sold to them, therefore knowing there is a track to you. Any ideas?

Folks receiving these crap calls (they want to sell the card holder something, typically credit insurance) may like to also read at this link as well: http://www.whocalled.us/lookup/5712836424 and vice-versa. You may want to call HSBC's HQs at 1-847-564-5000 and ask to speak with Michael Haynes or perhaps with Ilene Butorac on ext.5623 to get your number removed from further solicitations. Michael is some sort of an Executive with this crap outfit and I suspect the same of Ilene.
Another Caller ID number this crap outfit uses is: 616-597-4101. But besides pursuing things like your State's Attorney General's office in order to register formal complaints (this has nothing to do with the do-not-call-registry, this has to do with requesting they stop calling and then if they continue 3 more time you have their butts cold)I highly recommend that you get yourself a freebie account with GrandCentral.com (A Google owned company) and use the phone number they will supply to you (in your own area code) on ALL consumer business related transactions (credit cards, utilities, cable companies, etc, etc ... basically anyone except friends and relatives who you really want to hear from. Put your new GrandCentral.com number on a personal/business card if you can't recall it ... and give that number out first in order to defeat these crap companies who share your regular number with 3rd parties at their whim, OR who have been known to lose or otherwise mishandle your personal data.

Received call from (571)283-6424 at 1756 hours today. Bizarre noises mostly unidentifiable but included barking dogs. Filing a complaint with the FTC. I know nothing about this company except it seems they have some mental cases working there judging by my call and the above postings.

Call from 571-283-6424 came while I was at home (sick day). I started to answer it because a lot of Virginia cell phones, including mine, start with 571. However, I have a practice of not answering calls from numbers I'm not familiar with. After reading all the posts, here, I'm glad I didn't pick up.

I received calls and found out that the calls originate from a telemarketing company that HSBC has contracted with. I called HSBC to complain. If you would like to as well, the number is 847-564-5000 and the website is www.hsbcusa.com. The are located in Prospect Heights, IL.
Can't believe they interrupted my Christmas Eve to try to sell something. If I haven't completed my shopping by then, all is lost anyways.

mrT 2007-12-20 20:02:28 Unknown
we have been getting these call too, we asked HSBC to remove us from the list..they said sure and yet we still get calls all the time!
I am so sick of it, maybe if they didnt call people so many times when they dont want to be they could save some money and lower the fees/rates!
(not holding my breath though!)

I'm receiving numerous calls from HSBC over the past couple of weeks. Really annoying!! If I do not answer, they do not leave a message. If I actually DO answer, I say "hello" four or five times and then the line goes dead. What is up with this?? There's no reason we should be receiving collection calls from this company. They must be trying to sell something. Other numbers they've called from include:
240-389-6635
201-373-8349
616-597-4101
