This person claimed to be stationed at an Air Force base on Alabama currently n said exact same info about paypal...I told them if they were back in town n showed me their military id I would take more off the car...best way is to just tell anyone that they have to come to your bank personally to pay off loan and show their identity. If they won't it's a scam

Just get a text from this subject.  Won't let me call him back on the phone because he said he was working.  Asked some basic questions about the Cadillac I have for sale.  Sounds like a scam like all the other ones.  Phone comes back out of the State of Virginia.  Don't fall for this scam!!!

These people are too funny, they tried to run the same scam on me off craigslist. I do mean THE EXACT SCAM, THE TEXT THEY SENT WAS VERBATIM of same text "Y' posted on May 30 2013. These people can only scam those who want to be scammed, let me just say that con artist have been around as long as man has walked this planet. With that said, remember if you want to be ripped off, all you have to do is ask and someone will gladly take you for whatever you yourself are willing to give them! If it smells like "Sh.." and smells like "Sh.." THEN ITS MORE THAN LIKELY "SH.." Take care everybody

This number texted me at 4:30 am.  I had just posted Craig's list add the night before.  I texted them and told them it was 4:30 am and I would not provide more info at that time.  Then they texted me the next morning and said thank you for the reply, wanted to ask couple pointless questions.  They texted they wanted to ask more questions before they proceeded.  They are not from Phoenix where my car is and their grammar is not good english.  Definately scammers.

I have got the same thing for my car in hawaii. They also txt me from 443-296-2203 with the above same questions. They also say they are in the Air force. Being military I played along and they are unable to provide any real confirmation to back up their story. I wish people wouldnt waste my time.

Got a text message from this number (571)335-1713 at 1 am, they texted me about the car I have for sale and before writing back to that person I decided to look up the number and my gut feeling was right! It's a freaking scam. This person texted me saying this,[[ (1/2) Thanks for the response, I will like to ask few questions before I proceed on. Why are you selling it ? How long have you been using (2/2)it ? Are you the first owner ? Can you lower your price a bit ? Hope to reading back from you soon.]] then I replied back and this person wrote back saying this.. [[(1/3)Thanks, Im okay with your price and condition , and this is my first time of buying on Craigslist and I will like to pay you through (2/3)PayPal, so do send me your PayPal email address for the payment or log on to www.paypal.com to set up a PayPal Account if you are new (3/3)to PayPal. Do that and get back to me also with your address or current location of the vehicle for pick up.]] after I did my research and received this message back I told him or her to f*** off and that I will do a report for scamming! Like really?? Who would sell their car online? That's so stupid! He literally asked me for everything!! Someone really stupid would fall for this.

Same thing here.  They offered to buy our RV through Paypal.  Very poorly written txt message.  Didn't try to offer less or ask any real questions.  They just said that the price was agreeable and send them our e-mail address so they could paypal us the funds.  Used to get phishing e-mails for things I was selling on Craigslist but this is the first time for a text.
