Don't call again.  I never picked up but have had 3 call today and 4 yesterday.  Leave us all alone you jerk.

As I understand it, calls that are political, religious, charity, or whoever can prove that you and them have a business relationship are exempt from the "do not call" law. These calls are annoying just the same. To the commenter on this post who mentioned that these people should get real jobs-many of them can't get real jobs although I believe wholeheartedly that sweeping fries at McDonalds is a huge improvement over harassing complete strangers over the telephone.

Just called me at 8:42PM. Don't they know it's the Idol finale tonight!!! Grrrrr . . .

Hi, they called me 3 times like within a half hours; I realise this is common for them based on other posts.  Thanks for the info y'all!  Caller ID says Washington DC but 571 area code is for northern Virginia, basically DC suburbs.  Take care!

I received a call from this number at 2:22 a.m.  I didn't pick it up nor did they leave a message.  Just a hang up.   I'm so tired of these stupid spam calls.  Why don't they get a real job like honest working people?

I received an automated response from this Cell Phone number asking me to allow them to send a letter to my congressman to help restore some petroleum plant in Maryland (I think). The message asked me to press #1 if I accepted their offer.
Well I'm not going to lie. I pressed it and was promptly disconnected. I was just too busy to put up with yet another bogus telemarketer so I make a dumb mistake. Just hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the a**.  

Received the exact same message less than an hour ago. I'm worry though because I was stupid enough to press #1 which supposedly lets them send a letter in my name for their cause. Now I'm wondering what I really did? Damn!

I visited API website and looked at the contact us page.  This number doe snot appear.

Received a call three times in 20 minutes, so finally answered and of course, it was a recording. I'm on the "Do Not Call" list, but apparently that means nothing.

My caller ID gave this telephone number and no name which was the telephone number without the one at the beginning.

Called my DNC landline, DNA, and thanks to members, it is now blocked.

I received a call from this entity claiming to represent the American Petroleum Institute.  This entity wanted to send a letter to my congressman on my behalf about off shore petroleum to use as a leverage against the Russian.  I did not authorize a thing.  I called the number back and explained to the API folks that in essence that they had their head up their derrieres for trying this to exert economic influence over the Russian.  I explained that the Russian have a pipeline which they built, and goes through the Ukraine and feeds Europe.  I explained that the economic policy ever since the Balkanization of Eastern Europe has pissed off the Russians.  I said that no one driving this policy has taken a course in Russian Civilization to understand how the Russians think.  I said that the Russian originally wanted to "deal." but in essence, the U.S. has slapped them in the face, and this has infuriated Putin.  Yet, at the same time we do this to the Russians, we expect to be able to hitch a ride on Russian rockets to the International Space Station.  I said more to this effect.  I then called the number back, and heard a new recorded message that the owner of the number is no longer accepting messages at this number.  So how does anyone interject the fact that the economic policy directed at Russia has been stupid all along, when the U.S, really needs Russian cooperation in other more pressing matters.  We both share the same problems with Islamic terrorists.  However instead of trying to obtain mutual assistance, the various policy makers are playing games with the Russians-- and silly games at that!  At any rate, these folks impress me as "fat heads" who only want people to agree with them, regardless of how simplistic they seem to make every international situation.  I hate it when someone just expects me to agree with them because on the surface they think they have a very good idea, although the solution they proposed is far too simplistic.  At any rate, that's all the info I have.

This call came as "Unavailable". I find many of these calls so annoying...am on the DO NOt Call Registry and renew that on schedule. Would Tinman please post what telezapper is so I could take advantage of that? Thanks Tinman!

Robo message.  Political mumbo- jumbo from American Petroleum Institute wanting to send a letter to congress or something on my behalf.  Honestly, I'm gonna disconnect my friggin land line, smash my cell phone and fall of the grid!  I am so sick of all this crap.  I'm on the stupid Do Not Call List, DON'T FRIGGIN CALL ME!

Hung up as soon as I picked up.  Probably heard my telezapper and thought it was a bad number, which is what it's for.  I'll add the number to my Digitone Call  Bloacker

I received 3 phone calls from this number in the past 11 minutes. Caller I.D. read Cellular Call on all 3. The caller did not leave any messages. It's irritating to have unknown calls repeatedly coming in during the dinner hour.

2 calls in last 15 mins, no idea who it is, so didn't answer. Says from Washington DC
