This number called at 9:26 this morning.  The caller ID identified it as a "private caller" and I do not answer calls such as this.  No voicemail message was left and I did not attempt to call back.

Recording started, "This is an urgent Medicare message. If you are a senior..." Then I hung up. Probably some type of scheme...

9:11 this morning I received a call from the number and it went to voicemail. However, unlike you guys there's a distorted message on the answering machine where I have caught the words happy birthday it makes me happy ok bye I told you....it sounds as if someone called and didn't hang up properly so I heard their background noise. It came up private name, but showed the number. Like you guys though, I called and got music.

my guess is... that it is similar to e-mails, searching for alive phone numbers for solicitation, and possibly even telemarketing.

yes, some sort of recording.  luckily for me,  I have a VERIZON home phone with unlimited all-across-america calling plan, and it doesn't cost me a dime.  It must've automaic-dialed me at 9:06 a.m. virginia to NY but when it got my answering maching picking it up there was no hint of a message.  I dialed it back 1/2 hour later and it just played music.  Then I dialed it back and times it for over 5 minutes.  My only guess is that someone has an investment in the amount of phone calls received by the company or someone has a percentage of stick in the company and gets money off of the amount of callers USING that particular phone company's connection.  I don't know, but about 4 yrs ago I was stuck paying a phone bill for some jamaican lines who baited me into calling back.  Once burned, twice learned.

All I get is music as well.  Scam,scam,scam!!!
