I keep getting calls everyday non stop. I called 505 989-8876 (I got this number form the Kid's First website). I ask them to put me on "their" do not call list. I guess we will see if that stops the calls. If it doesn't stop the call I think I will be forced to contact my local authorities/attorney. I am pretty sure this would be considered harrassment.

I keep getting this call too. I answered it the first time and they started talking about the dvd's. I figured it was a salesman so I hung up, but the calls keep coming. I don't want any business from them.
Keihan 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I think I should mention this.
If you ARE on the DO NOT CALL list and this company isn't complying with FTC laws, you may file a complaint at donotcall.gov
The culprit can be fined up to $11,000 per incident.
Another lesser known FTC prohibition is that it is illegal for telemarketers to use an automated system to make calls to cell phones. This comapny is certainly using an automated system. Call the FTC and file a complaint.

They've been calling me all summer. It totally sounded like a real person on the phone, too. I have yet to watch the videos; I doubt I ever will. I think they are some religious organization and I think my kids are too old for it anyways. I don't know how they got my cell number and since they're on the other side of the U.S., they call me at 11:00 at night--I never answer. I wish I'd never agreed to this....
imdreamingtoo 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I got a call from them they offered to send to movies on DVD for me to watch and then they would call me back for a review. Yes, they did send me two FREE movies, I've got to watch them, its been 3 weeks and they are calling back for the review. I don't mind, its only fair.
Christian 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I am a football player and i just assumed it was a coach calling me. When i answered i just gave the guy a fake name and address and thought that would be the end of it, now they call me everyday. I agree that it is a weirdly human computer. Sometimes when i talked it would stop and then just repeat the same question. it was strange

Their numbers and the name of the persons running the place... at least the public name the company gives out and uses to post employment ads in classified.
search for the ranny email in google, you can see that they've been around for a while. And from other sites it looks like they try or used to try to get credit card numbers out of people then charge them for the "free" movies. Call them on their actual contact phone numbers.

COALITION FOR QUALITY CHILDRENS MEDIA is in the Civic, Social, and Fraternal Associations industry in SANTA FE, NM. This company currently has approximately 5 to 10 employees and annual sales of $500,000 to $999,999.
yeah they make money, but they can make money and still be a "non-profit" Remember, churches make money too. I never got the dvd's or whatever anyway, so I am just going to continue to ignore calls or maybe answer one and tell them to stop calling.
They had posted an ad for a telemarketer in some newspaper dated a month or year ago.. just google them, and the email or real phone number. They sell dvd's or reviews or something.. Non profit but they want to do business... it seems like they are not respecting the do not call registry.
My mom got on their list.. so did I.. The only thing we both did recently(last year) was register Republican. We took part in our local caucuses (Iowa) so our names are on a list of Iowan republicans.. I am not a Christ'r so they would disagree with what I consider moral, so really they would not benefit from my opinion. my responses will be statistical outliers, but it's their poorly run survey.
I do think it is funny that they have an address in Salt Lake. SO are they Mormon? They did capture some psycho mormons in their little polygamist cults in New Mexico recently.

I used to work for a different market research firm (hey, it paid $10 an hour and I was in college!)and I just wanted to advise everyone that the "do not call list" only applies to people actually trying to sell you something. For the opinion-research firms, the "do not call list" is irrelevant. Basically your number goes into a computer data base and is automatically generated for these companies. When you get angry with them and simply hang up (or whatever), they will just put you in their system to call back (usually within 90 minutes). The only way you can get them to stop is by saying "PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST". If you try to reference the generic "do not call list" that you think you're on, it does nothing to stop them. Once you tell them to please add you to THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST, they legally have to remove your number (at least we did).

I received a call from this number, and the voice just didn't sound right to me...so being a marketing major, I started to ask some really complicated questions that in-turn, got funky answers or repeated answers..when told to hold I waited for a woman (manager) who got on the phone and started to give me the same shpeel..so I ask her point bank who that f*** was that other dude? THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE GUY FIRST ON THE PHONE IS AN AUTOMATED VOICE THAT REPEATS ANYTHING THE OPERATOR TYPES...I was told people respond better to his voice. it took me 25 minutes on the phone to get this out of them..and they sent me the damn dvds anyway...oh well...I just really wanted to know if that voice was real or not.

I also received the phone call on my cell and agreed to view the movies and participant in the survey. I have no idea what became of the movies that were mailed to us. I know I received them. They continue to call me also. I don't answer but it's still anoying.
Has anyone received a call from them on a land-line?
David 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
Has anyone ever actually reviewed the movies and told these people what you thought about them?
Annoyed 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
It is Kids First. They sent me the DVDs. I never watched them, but still have them. These guys are incredibly persistent. They call AT LEAST once a day, sometimes twice. I don't answer any calls from a 575 area code anymore. I have to figure out how to get off of this list.
le from washington 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I got the same thing... weird computerized voice, very odd. They won't stop bugging me!
Beth 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
Thank you! I kept wondering who this number was! I am in Washington and it keeps calling and calling - every hour one day, but they never leave a message.

I got the same call and the DVD's, but sent them back to the Salt Lake City address with a note explaining that I didn't have time to review them. They call my cell phone constantly and I just don't answer. They also have an 877 number that comes up too. The just need to quit calling.
m from washington state 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
i get called twice a day for the past two months , its annoying, not gonna lie, i lost the movies they sent so i cant watch and respond to the survey, im hoping that they will get the hint and stop calling.
vpytko 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I signed up for the movies a month or so ago. Got my first movie 2 days ago. Today, I got a cell phone call from this number but no one was there...just the number left on my display. Checked it out here and learned such calls are not uncommon. Haven't viewed the movie yet.
Ty from Texas 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
all very similar, except i gave a false name and address of a vacant house across the street. i never got the movies. i never wanted to. he called a month later. i told him i was at work he said he would call back later. i ignored that phone call. he call my brother and mother.
George Vorobiov 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I just got off the phone with them ( dialed 1-800-932-2978) and asked the manager to take me off the list, which she claims she did. I don't know yet if this worked - I'll update later

This number belongs to Kids First. It is an agency that promotes family friendly alternatives to today's kids movies. They offer to send you FREE Dvd's to view & respond. But, then they call you back and ask for money.
THEY WILL NOT STOP CALLING ME! THEY CALL EVERY 5 HOURS AND IT PISSES ME OFF!!!!
How do I make it stop???
nebraska 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
Other number that have shown up for Kids First are:
877-837-8560
202-747-7355
It just makes me really sad, because I thought I was helping them and now they are taking advantage of me and harassing me daily with these calls.
It definitely reflects poorly on them as a company.
I just have two words: EPIC FAIL.
Jill 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
persistant and VERY annoying! call at least 2x per day- how do I get them to stop?
catsfan 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
They never stop, its been about 8 months and they call on and off.
A Tad Annoyed 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I started receiving calls constantly in March and kept avoiding them through April. Just got off the phone with 1-800-932-1978 and the young lady politely took my request to take me off their call and mailing list. This is kidsfirst.org. I understand their zeal, but I cannot be part of it because of my schedule.
Heather from Boston 2011-06-06 20:51:50 Unknown
I first started receiving the phone calls about 8 months ago... and after giving them my address because I had agreed to viewing the films, they kept calling me back to see how I liked them - when I hadn't even received them yet! It took them 4 times to finally get it right. Now, since it's the summer, I don't have time to watch them, but they're still calling me for an opinion. Oh - and I agree, the guy sounds like he's a computer. I actually asked him that though "is this an automated voice?" and he said "no... do I sound like that? Oh - I'm sorry".
Last time I talked to him he practically scolded me for not watching the movies because they cost them money to send them out, so I should watch them. I will eventually... but I really *don't* have the time.
Also, when he first called, I'm pretty sure it was a Boston phone number. Now it's a number with a 575 area code... weird? I think so!
