there is no jail for debtors.  Pamela Roberts is just another name these folks use..google it, you'll be amazed.  There is no warrant, there cannot be a warrant.  Worst case scenario would be a civil suit, but since they buy bad debt that has passed statute of limitations they can't even legally sue you.

just got a call from a very nasty Pamela Roberts saying that i would have a felony warrant issues for a check fraud. I called my attorney general but haven't heard back. am freaking out- can they do that? When i asked for information saying that i had no problem paying a debt if they'd give me more information she kept saying it'd be on the warrant and i could get it then. I kept telling her that i just wanted all the information and wasn't giving them any personal info (e.g. banking info) until i got that and she just kept saying it'd be on the warrant. wtf?

Ya I work at a call center and have alot of experience with debt and collectors and their process of collecting funds since being laid off for 2 years. So this a**le from new york giving me a rundown of a payday loan for 350 (850 i would have to pay on the spot). Called the payday place and they sold acct to collections (expected) and worked out a payment arrangement for only the 350. This being resolved I contacted local sherrif and courts because this a**le was breaking all the common courtesy rules and saying i already missed court date, said he would have me stuffed in a cruiser within 20 minutes. FYI total BS am clean like i always have been. If any legal guru reading this i would appreciate a major smackdown on these jerks.

so i just got a call from this exact number stating i owed from a check about 3 years ago, i called my husband at work he said give him the number so i did, they told me that if i didnt pay 1000 dollars by 3pm today they were coming to arrest me on a fraud account, scared me to death.. so i took it to call them back told them i just talked to my attorney he said to record the phone call so o told this man on the phone he was being recorded an to please give me the name an the number an  all the info i needed but i said please be ware u are being recorded. he told me miss i told u everything already an hung up on me, so please dont get the scare of a life time thinking your going to jail, i was crying i was so scared...

Called my wife saying something about felony charges being filed against me if we didn't pay some loan off. When I called back and asked for the man who had called, I told him I was recording the call (I was). He transferred to another man who acted disturbed that he would have to explain it again as my wife did not explain it fully. He then said he did not consent to having the call recorded; I advised him that he was free to disconnect if he did not consent. He disconnected.

Called saying that I was commiting fraud, but would not tell me against what company or any other information.

Got a call saying that I was listed as an emergency contact for someone that I don't know and that I needed to call him back immediately. Under name of Steven Cole.

calling saying that i owe money for a loan,asking for my banking information and saying it was a claim filed class 1 check and went by the name of steven caldwell and david stewart.
