I received a call from an 800-754-0567 number and did not pick it up. I was left a voicemail using my name from someone named Anne stating she was with some hospital and asking me to call back a 585-273-0414 number. I would not have called either number back. However, they used my name specifically so i figured id better look into it. Upon calling both numbers I got the same automated voice. The second number given put me in contact with the same Anne person. She asked me for my date of birth after I asked why she was calling me. She said I had debt and that she got my number because "It was on file with the hospital." Bull. She said she could not discuss any details unless I gave my personal information. I have no debts. I just bought a home and new car and have gotten my credit report multiple times within the last month! Also I have not been to a hospital for personal treatment in years. FRAUD.

I pressed them for their name.  The person on the phone stated they were "Genesee Valley Associates" which coordinates with the GVA they have told other people.  They also pressed me for information about my relative and that they needed to "update him on a very important issue."  They did not have an accurate name for the relative.  I gave them no further time or information.  They never called back.

so this people have been caling my husband number for over 3 years yes i siad 3 years everday all day looking for van go as u can imange we have frist told them the basic  after that we made joke yelled crused anything to get them to relize hey werenot this person and we don't know whom he is i find the best way to solve this is call them back harrs them tell them u have info for them i have found now 5 times they well talk and ingage in my lil phone tag i mean realy we r as rude to them as they r to us well tonight i decided 3 can play this game jelouis my husband was having all the fun i call them back claim i am one of the many people they call funny how they need me to comfrim as they all the info they want the have to ask to see if i tell them what on there screen so the cliam i lock out of the perious fial i need this info to get ur vaubel info yeah huh nop not happening when asked who they were i get half a** answer like were a 3 party or were an transporting information a** company aka a bunch of bs if u ask me when i tiold them have u ever googel ur self to see what people realy thought of your company i was told what googel oh gessh u realy form another country i say it a scam any one who not proud to say whom they wrok or what is getting no infor or buz form me

recieved a call from maria boyd inquiing about a grown daugther that not living my state .asked how she got this as i dont live at that number . asked for this number to be remove as a contact number for me since i dont live at that number was told no and i will keep calling.

I received a call from this number at 08:58 on 09/16/2011 asking for me by name.  then they ask if I knew an individual.  I told them that I don't know the person and how did they get my cell phone number? I was told that my cell phone number was in there data base and they would remove it.  I called the number 1-585-273-6412 and ask what company they were with and was given a bogust name.  I did a search on the phone nymber and it came back with a company in Rochester, NY.  DO NOT GIVE THESE CROOKS ANY INFORMATION.

A woman and man with all the phone numbers mentioned has called our non-profit school.  They have asked to speak with (state name of person) and when they are told they are not here they ask to speak to a woman (giving her name).  These calls have been repeated many times.  Finally, I told them that I knew they were a scam.  I was told that they would continue to call until they reach the woman's name mentioned.  I told them not to call back and hung up the phone.  
Today being a new day, the phone rings a 8AM and asks for  giving name of the President of company. She stated that she was from the Journal and Joan London was making a film about this non-profit organization The voice was the same but a different number than before but one on the list of scams. The phone number shows up "privite" on the ID.  She proceeds to give a number to call 561-353-9070 ext 697 and speak to Linda Griffin.  I played dumb, repeating the information for call back incorrectly repeatly.  Finally the lady becomes very rude.  I tell her that she is rude and hang up.  She calls again at 9AM asking for the first person that she asked for on the first call and then asked for the woman by name from first call.  I hung up.

Never give them correct information to them.  Just lie.  Make up account numbers.  Give them wrong info intentionally misleading information.  They can't do anything about it.

When they ask you to verify your info tell them you do not believe them. Tell them you suspect they are phishing for info and with all the ID theft going on now days how do you know who you're talking to?  See if you can get their name, date of birth and social security number so you can verify before giving yours to them.  If they have a problem with that request explain to them they were the ones that called you.  If they say you owe a debt say well maybe you do but unless you can verify who they are we wont discuss it. Drives them batty because they can never win.  Just follow the flow.  They ask you for info.  You verify back requesting SS number, DOB and full name of caller to check for criminal history - tell them your legal department requires a due diligent process to reduce identity theft.  I mean come on you call me and ask me for the most personal of personal information and you want me to just believe you?  I've never heard of you.  And you want my SS number.  What kind of person do you think I am?
This will drive them crazy.  Just do it and follow the flow.  It's a big circle and they wont get any where.

Someone keeps leaving me a message telling me to call him but there is no explanation or reason! I want it to stop.

We received a call asking to speak to (name of man). I think this was a collection agency calling. Caller ID showed up as Rochester, NY. We do not know the man being looked for. His house went into foreclosure, and we bought it more than 3 years ago. The man on the phone wanted to know if we were related to the man. I asked the caller who he is, and he said he is a businessman and he wanted to help the man he was calling for. I said, "I bet you are." That was the end of the conversation.

This company called my home and left a message.  Then proceeded to call my cell phone immediately afterward and then left a message with my in-laws! I am sure that is harrassment on some level...Two days in a row!

Left a message on my voicemail, called me by name and said it was regarding a Robert Rexroth (??WHO??)  Sounds like a comic book character name to me.  Anyway, gave me a toll free number to call and a file # --- yeah, dude...wait by the phone, I'll be calling right back..NOT

Aggressive, nasty debt collectors! Called threatening me with a lawsuit over a debt that was settled years ago. If he calls again, I'm going to blow my police whistle into the phone. He won't call back very many more times after that.

The person that called me was a real a**hole. They have called my son and lord knows who else. The guy on the phone said i owe 400.00 and he would have to pay 200.00 and we could call it even. I told him to mail me the info. and i will check into it. He told me it sounds like i am not gone to pay the bill. And i was a bad person. I told him he is an a**hole and don't call this number or my sons cell phone again. What is weired about this, this credit card is not on my credit report. And this was back in 2004.

I do realize that bill collectors call.  The problem I have with this company is harrassing me for a person I have never heard of.  When you are home with sick children and the phone constantly ringing and being told that you are lying about who you are gets hold.  I do pay my bills so shouldn't have to deal with harrassing phone calls.

These people have called my cell phone several times and it's showed up as a missed call.  I tried calling the number and they answered GVA.  Since I've never heard of this before, I told them I had the wrong number and they promptly hung up.  Regardless, they should not be calling my cell number.

I received a call from these people and they were trying to locate a relative.  He said he had some very important information for my relative.  I wouldn't give him anything.........I detest people like him.  I have caller ID so I called the number back to find out who it was that called.  Could get no information from them so I got on the computer and found this site here.  Thank y'all for this site.

I don't answer the calls when I see the number on caller ID, when they leave a message they are looking for the guy who lived here before us, 9 yrs ago.  Today's message though they used my first name saying they were calling for so and so. Very strange!

A Molly of GVA called saying she wants to talk to Kyle and have something important to discuss.  Kyle is my 2 year old son!  They are scammers and up to something.  BE AWARE.  877-563-1691 and 585-2736412 which originates from Rochester, NY

You realize most of you wouldn't be in this position if you actually paid your debts, right? For the guy who thought he didn't have to pay his Wamu bill because they weren't in business anymore - is there something wrong with you??? Your debt is your debt - always. We just got a new phone number and have had numerous phone calls from collection companies look for people who we don't know. Guess what - it's not the COMPANY'S fault! They're just trying to verify the information - stop whining about it. Pay your bills and you won't have this problem. Parents - don't raise debtors and you won't have people calling looking for your children.

GVA is a scam company sucking up old debts that creditors sell to them for pennies on the dollar, according to a search I did by the number 877-563-1691.  Check it out for more info.  They have left me messages saying that it's connected to (name withheld), who is my ex-brother-in-law and with whom I have never had any financial dealings.  So odd that I googled them.  Do not speak to them or give them any information, just hang up and report them for harrassment.

Yah, I bet they have important information they'd like to tell him. A caller told us that, too. We have lived in our house for nearly four years and keep getting calls for the previous owner. The bill collectors look up where he lived and call that phone number. We do not know the man, and we do not know where he is. One caller claimed to be a businesman who wanted to help the man he was calling. Ha!

I always check this site first, T.G., Recieved a call from 585-273-6412, from Maria Boyd asking for my husbund, by name, left a number to call 877-563-1691 and a reference #. I don't answer unknown callers. Called it back, just to be a B*tch, considering we have no outstanding debts. Maria is looking for Scott Garvin. We don't have a clue, naturally, and I tell her so. She naturally she would like to argue the truth of my statement, which in turn blow the whistle. Literally. I actually have a whistle. I don't think Maria or any of the other co-horts will be calling me soon, I have a brand new air horn. LOL

I got a call yesterday from 585-273-6412 at work.  He asked for me by full name and when I said this was she he said now can I verify I am speaking to the correct person by havign you verify that the last 4 digits of your SSN # are ****.  I said I will not verify that and I would like your company name and address to respond to you.  I cannot receive personal phone calls at work and I am telling you that you cannot call me here again.  He refused to give me his address and started yelling at me.  He told me that he needed to verify my information and that he was calling about a debt for Citibank.  I continued to insist that he give me the name and address of his company and at one point he told me to grow up and stop trying to run away from my legal debts.  I again said give me your name and address and he told me we were going to do things his way and I needed to verify information. I explained again that I could not receive calls at work and he hung up.  When I got home there was a message on my voice mail and it was the same guy.  His name is Joe Stein.  I am contacting my AG's office and filing a complaint.

File a complaint with your state Attorney General's Office against Genessee Valley Associates in Rochester, NY.

Got a call from these people today looking for some gal who evidently had my cell phone number before me (just got it about a month ago) who evidently after reading these posts, owes a debt. The man sounded polite at first, but then asked me if I knew this person! Now tell me this, if you just get a new cell service and number, how do they even begin to think you KNEW the person who had it before you?  STUPID! They are definitely bottom feeders trying to collect a buck. If they don't stop calling me for this woman, I am going to call the Florida authorities & attorney generals office and file a complaint. This is absurd.
