Craigslist.  Posted room to rent and this person sent only text msg.  Ask them to call and said they can only text.  Wanted to send check so I said paypal is faster :)  then asked for address etc., asked is she had work/school and said school.  Asked which one and the text msg stopped.  Scam!!!!!!!  315-605-8394  its a google number.

I too have received a text from this girl claiming to be from Berlin, trying to send me money.  After a few rounds of text messages, she brought up sending me money, and red flags went off.  Thanks for posting this.  I appreciate it.

Received a text from this number 585-310-2843, claiming to want to rent a room I had listed on Craigslist. Stating her name was Cynthia cole, 24 yrs of age and from Berlin, Germany. Wanted to rent the room and mail check from her Dad before arriving and would be shipping a car to my address.

Beware, scams come in all fashions these days!

You need to give the details of what they communicated to you for anyone to offer an opinion as to whether it's fraud.
