Got a very unintelligable call today from 585 444 0756 claiming to be IRS and referring to legal action.

A man with a thick indian accent which I could barely understand called and said his name was "Michael Reddington from the IRS at the Internal Revenue Service. He said the hotline to his division was 585-444-7053. He stated that I needed to call as soon as I received the message to avoid legal action. He indicated that there was a problem with my income tax return and it was a time sensitive matter.

I received a CALL form 585-444-7053. THIS AM 9.05.The guy stayed he was calling from the IRS  and I was being sued. I insisted that he send me a certified  letter . The call ended

Yes, I have gotten this call with this number for the past two days. Also received the same call about three months ago but from an Oregon state number. Called three times today!

Actually they are located in India.  And INDIA is the home of the IRS scam.  Been going on for a while.  They target single women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community.

Nothing against Indian or Indian Americans; but that's just the way it is now.

The only thing you can do besides reporting the calls appropriately is block them. Consider getting a call blocking device or phone. You can google them and they run around 60.00.

Who did you report the number to.  I'm getting the same IRS calls, and other threatening calls from a Jessica Abrams.  She coughed and sneezed through her message, and hung up.

I received a call from the 585-444-7053 phone number yesterday with the same exact message. Last week there was a segment on channel 7 news talking about the number of people receiving fraudulent calls from people stating they were calling from the IRS.  Don't these people know that we can call the IRS personally to report the call that we received from this notice.  Also, the IRS will send you a letter indicating what you owe, etc.

Is there someone that we can contact to get these calls to stop?

I received the same call yesterday. I was directed by the the FBI's website and the IRS website to report this to the Federal Trade Commission's website and to make sure to title it"IRS phone scam"

I received a phone call on 4/26/14 @ 12:16 PST from 585-444-7053 from a gentleman who was speaking in a very heavy Indian or Pakistani accent speaking English claiming that he was from the IRS and wanted to go over my tax forms (that part I understood). I told him the IRS doesn't call people and especially on the weekends.The IRS only contact people through official letter correspondence through the United States Postal Service. Also told him that I wasn't going to speak to him because I couldn't understand him in the first place.Than the representative told me to call the same number back and asked for a Mark Victor  If you receive a call from this number I was informed to report this number to the Federal Trade Commission's website and to make sure to title your report "IRS Telephone Scam".

I got a call from a number 585 444-7053 said it was from IRS. It sounded like a scammer I see i am not the only one that got a call like this. I am going to report this something has to be done about this hassament to people.

Received a call from this number and in a very strong in a Indian or Pakistani accent they were claiming something about the IRS. I mentioned him for one to IRS doesn't call people 2. Your Axon is too strong and I don't want to talk to you, but he insisted in giving me a number to call a individual name Mark Victor. I told customer service representative that I will call this number and investigated and then turn it into the local authorities, because once again the IRS does not call people.

Just got a call this morning 8:30 am He "Mark Victor", could barely speak English, had a heavy far eastern accent, said he was from IRS. Asked me if I had a lawyer (first red flag).  When I asked why he would be calling on a Saturday at 8:30 he mumbled something about people not usually being home as they had fled leaving their property (next red flag)  I took his number and was done  and will report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1.800.366.4484. as suggested in a Forbes Magazine article. Do beware and take care.

Message says it's from the IRS and to call back to avoid legal action. I'm almost certain it's a hoax. Caller ID says it is coming from West Henriet, NY

I received a phone call today from Office Heather. What a load of crap!

We got a recorded message claiming to be from the IRS, from this #585-444-7053. It was a garbled, computer generated message so we knew it was a scam! Claimed to be a Officer Heather and to call immediately or face immediate action!  Just a bunch of IDIOTS trying to scam innocent people!

Got a message from this phone # claiming they're the IRS.  When you call it back it goes right to an unidentified voicemail.  You would receive a certified letter from the IRS first.

Guys, Guys!!!!! if you guys just want to still some money, get somebody that can speak English. That African need to learn much more English. She will not be able to order pizza from Domino's Pizza.

I received a message on my answering machine from a heavily accented man claiming he was from the IRS. He said that if I did not return his call to be prepared to suffer legal consequences.When I called the number back it went immediately to a full mailbox. REALLY????

I also received this very same message on my answering machine, only he said his name was Jason O'Conner. Same phone, same accent, same threat. I reported this to the BBB and also FTC.

Don't call these people back.  Don't talk to 'em.

If they call again, tell 'em you know it's a scam, it's been reported and then tell them to go to hell!  Do it loudly!

Voicemail is not very audible, but says "extremely time sensitive", "my name is Officer Heather from the IRS", "you need to return the call before legal action is taken against you".    

I agree...these people needs to be found and slapped silly...what a bunch of J*** Off! They need to learn to speak English first before they start scamming people in the United States Of America!
