Spot the last message and feel amused.  The same guy Kevin Johnson with (585) 633-1814 has called my home in the past two days, always at around 4 PM something which is 7 PM NY time...

I received a call today from a Indian guy with heavy accent, barely understand what he was saying.  I had to ask him to repeat what he said.  He asked me to call Kevin Johnson (585) 633-1814, a IRS Criminal Investigator, who I need to call back the next day.  After reading these forums, and thank you for the postings.  Don't bother with return or answer their calls, totally scams.  BE VERY CAREFUL!

Same thing happened to me from those stupid people i wish they catch them in put in jail

A male voice with very thick accent (sounded like African American) called couple of days ago while no one at home and finally left a threatening message we need to call immediately to avoid any legal actions. We called this morning, and the call did not go through, then realized this call may be fraud and started searching online. Surprised to see that I'm not first one to go through this. Hope someone take these b*****ds down.

Received repeated calls which I ignored.  They finally left a voice message claiming to be from the IRS.  Could not make it all out, but basically warned me not to try to avoid the calls and that it was regarding an outstanding IRS case.  Called back but no answer, just a hang up.  Reported the call to FTC Do Not Call List.  Call came from 585-466-0174.

Dan Murphy claiming from IRS called on Saturday, December 14.The guy has an Indian accent and was stupid enough to leave a message on my answering machine. I'll report it to the law enforcement. There is a possibility that the call was from overseas.

These guys are nothing if not persistent.  Called 4 times within two minutes.  The first 2 times I hung up without saying anything.  The 3rd time I asked for information from him, name, address, date of birth and so on without stopping to listen for replies, and then hung up.  The fourth time I just quietly set the phone down and continued with what I had been doing.  If I could ever get their location, a friend and I would visit them in person.

Today (Dec 16, 2013), a male with foreign accent called me and claimed to be with IRS in NY.  He talked and sounded like a fraud. I told him that if IRS had any issue with me, let IRS send it by mail.  Then he hung up.

Just got the call. Couldn't understand what the hell he was saying. I told him to F*** off.

Kind if threatening - needs me to contact immediately before any legal action is taken. Says it is a call from the IRS. Has left two voice messages today. Kind of annoying!

Love this site!  Creepy sounding man with a thick, almost unintelligible Indian accent and a cold, evil attitude, one time called himself "Alex ?Smalding" (sp.?), another time gave another name (impossible to understand), claimed he was from the IRS. First time said to call back agent "Darren Johnson." We and our CPA tax accountant tried to call back the number multiple times, dead end no answer. Second time I told him twice "your number doesn't work, or it's an incorrect number" and he interrupted me twice with "just take down this number." Total scam! I will report the number... and maybe get an ear-splitting whistle for the next lying predator who abuses our (paid extra for) unlisted home number, also on the "do not call" list...

She called me yesterday and today using the same phone number. Is there anyway to stop this kind of call? What the purpose of call?

Caller, sounding ominous, and claiming to be from the IRS, left a threatening message on my voice mail

I got a similar call from an Alan Parker in Angelica, NY leaving a message threatening legal action if we don't call back, his number 585-466-0174. The third time he called, I picked up and send We know this is a scam, stop calling, the police have been notified (wasn't sure who to notify at first so that's what I said).  I found you can enter a complaint online with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). I gave them all the info I have so I hope at some point this evil person is caught and thrown in jail for impersonator an IRS Rep. threatening people. I didn't speak to him but I'm sure he would've asked for cash...

Same person called twice with a thick Indian-accent, obviously reading from a written statement and difficult to understand.  This time he used "Michael" and demanded a call back ASAP.  The first call had an area code of "425" from Washington State (caller ID) then the second call (no caller ID available) was given by the caller for a call back as 585-466-0174, New York.  It's funny, there is a IRS office about 10 miles from my house.  Great discussion here and thanks for the information.  Don't be a victim.

This is seriously annoying to me too,  I would repeat the above message that the IRS always contact you by mail with an official letter.  Even if they were to call  you, I bet you could understand them!  Wish there was a way to get them to quit calling.  But to everyone else out there, please don't let  yourself be scammed.  Happy Holidays!

Difficult to understand caller left message saying it was urgent, his name was Robert Costum from IRS--addressed me by my name. Told me not to disregard this call. Called Better Business Bureau--not a legitimate number. My husband called and asked them to prove the caller was IRS. The guy got mad and hung up.  Trying to get hold of IRS--very, very difficult to talk with anybody
