It was a fax blast to my fax line about Healthcare Insurance.

Call on my toll free acct, 12/19/07, 4 min.  It shows to be from Rochester, NY.

We have several different customers around the United States who order from our Company.  In searching for a telephone call for customer care I noticed this number belonged to 168 different customers in our database.  Does anyone know how all of these customers have the same telephone number?  Could it be our system picking up the wrong call Id information, or is it the telephone company/web telephone companies sending the wrong information to us to identify each caller?

I'm in california, and it showed up as MY number when I called Paypal. I use Vonage and noticed other vonage users are experiencing the same thing. Which narrows it down to a Vonage issue. I called Vonage and their trying to figure it out.

Several calls from 6 to 18 minutes. OmniPoint Commincations/Choice One provides service for the offending #, but no onw wants to seek the cause.

I'm in Florida, have Vonage, called  a number in area code 716 (Buffalo), my number showed up as 585-730-6158.  I don't block my number; it usually shows up as "Florida" calling.  It must be some kind of merging number for routing purposes.

This is a number owned by charlatans trying to sell some crap.

received 9 calls totalling almost an hour that i didnt take on my toll free line. One was at 8:21 pm for 18.9 minutes. I dont answer my office line after 7 making this impossible.

On an order placed this AM to a major company on their 800 #, this number showed on their screen instead of our real #. We switched to Vonage a few months ago. No clue what this is or why it showed up.

On a call this morning using our AT&T conference call number the 585-730-6158 number was showing up as our host. Strange.

This must be a Vonage number.  I had an inbound call and we have a reverse search and it pulled up about 58 customers with this number.

I got a call early today from this number. We are a company based in Houston TX and yes the area code says NY because this number is an internet number. The cheap guy is definitely from India because of his accent and because he wants things done for free. I spent 25 minutes talking with him and nah! it's a waste of time. It is the kind of guy who wants to know how you do it to do it himself.

Got it today and called it back and reached the "disconnected" recording.

I was just editing my PayPal account information and this number was on it! I have no idea how it got there and luckily I don't have any money in my account.

I just called my own 800 number from my own Vonage number and indeed, my caller ID said (585) 730-6158 but it was me!

Quit worrying about this!

It definitely involves crime when my toll free number gets billed for hour long conversations during non-business hours and repeatedly. There may be more than one thing going on with this number, but some criminals have must have figured out how to make long distance calls and send the billing to a third party toll free number.

This number was updated to my paypal account - not by me.

I called the number, it had been disconnected.

On the same day, I received a call from paypal security. Someone was trying to use my account for a $960+ transaction and they were verifying that it was legit.  It was NOT legit.

I got a call from paypal security inquiring if I had initiated a $960+ transaction on my paypal card, which I had not.

Someone was trying to use my account. That is called FRAUD - which is a CRIME - not a "reasonable explanation that does not involve crime.

Called me at work (Vanderbilt University) and said he had the wrong number when I answered.

Received 8 calls from this number to my toll free number. The calls were long enough that I know they aren't real. Disputing it with my phone company.

(585) 730-6158 is an internet phone number, not a cell n umber or standard incoming line with a physical address. It is a phone number that is probably used by multiple services fro example collection agencies etc. to route calls or to go around numbers you have already blocked.

Number called our toll free number today looking for concert tickets.

Internet based number. Not a standard line or cell.

Line is based in New York.

This number 585-730-6158 showed up on my Paypal account at the same time fraudulent charges from Skype started coming in.  They are definitely crooks.  Be careful and check all of your financials.

i just tound this number on my credit card, registered as a contact person. Whoever this is clearly is up to no good

I received a call from this number on Sunday afternoon. They called my work phone and left a message. It sounded like a young girl. She said she needed a job and if I didn't answer the phone the next time she called, she would beat me up. In the end, she decided she loved me then hung up. I have no idea...

repeated unwanted calls to a place of business

I placed a few test calls from my home Vonage line to our new phone system for work.  The next day, when I checked the reports, it showed that I was calling from 585-730-6158 (not even close to my real Vonage phone #).  Not sure why Vonage would be passing this number as my caller ID, but that's what seems to be happening.  My guess is that if you see this # on your caller ID, must be a friend or relative calling from a Vonage line (or from some other non-traditional phone service).

I got a call on my toll free number from 585-730-6158 and that number is no longer in service.  I now see others who have gotten calls from this number. What is going on?
