Alfalfas post was, as always, spot on. He's a long standing regular here & has never steered anybody wrong. We know frauds here. We hunt them as a hobby. We despise them with a passion. Some of us are informative & prefer to keep it that way. Some of us aren't so polite.
I'm not known for my manners. Particularly with what are known as the "Buffalo Boys". Check Systems are people that work for the "Poster Children" of the "Buffalo Boys". They are pure scum.
These are people that have no honor. They don't care. They have no self-respect, because they know that there's nothing about themselves to respect. They don't care. They are empty people. They'll live, they'll die. None of them will leave anything behind, save perhaps another generation of parasites that are sub-human at best. They are beneath contempt & the only mark of their existence will be left as complaints about them. And a trail of law suits.
The people at Check Systems are humanity at its lowest. They have actually managed to make themselves lower than the Indian frauds. An achievement in itself. Well, I guess they'll be remembered for something!
Check Systems actually have a bit of armor. They have so many complaints piled up in court that they know they're not worth pursuing. They are nothing, they have nothing. They know that now. They have nothing to lose. They are bad jokes that will never leave a punch line.
Be Safe. Be Aware.

Thank you.  I just spoke with Lisa Paily and she is not a real debt colletor.  She is asking me to pay the exact same out the other gentleman mentioned which is $1879.  She did have all of my personal information which I am sure was pulled from the internet somehow.  She did state that this was in relation to a payday loan that I had a long time ago.  She even went so far as to say that I could counter offer to resolve the issue.  Needless to say I will not be falling for this scam.  I will be contacting the FTC and the attorney general to advise of this issue.  It has been going on with multiple characters for a long time and I am sick of it.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Debt Collector
I received a voicemail from Lisa Pailey stating that there is an open investigation concerning my account.  She also stated that I had until 10am this morning to respond and that the vm that she left would be my only notification.  I have had several voicemails like this in the past so I know that they are scams.  I did however call her back this morning and was surprised that she actually had a voicemail that sounded legitimate.  Always contact your bank in cases like this to ensure that your accounts have not been compromised as well as to ensure that these harassing phone calls have no merit.

Debt Collector
Received a call from this number in reference to possible check fraud- the caller Lisa Palley said she was investigating and I had 24 hrs to respond and make arrangements to pay $1879.00. I told her I had to contact my bank and verify her information she supposedly had. The account had been closed long before the dates she gave. She called back and I told her what the bank said and she kept trying to get me to verify information so I said the bank said you should have what you need without me verifying anything for you. She just said she would document our conversation for the investigation.  It was a scam that at first I almost believed but glad I called my bank and got the correct information..Chexsystems said they never have collectors call people like that and the bank would have known if their were any type of issues and I wasn't in the chexsystem data bank
