Call me 30 times in 20 minutes.. how do you sue these b*****ds? f*** them!

Its Kalpains University. I called them back told them to loose my number.

I get calls from this number all the time. After a quick bit of research, I frond that this is Kaplan University. I put my ph # on a site regarding educational info and they call, Ashford University and U of Phx ALL THE F'ING TIME!!! (It's a different # from Ashford, but it still ticks me off all the same! Oh, and stay far, FAR away from Ashford "University" if you are looking into distance/online academic institutions...they are quite well known as a scamming diploma-mill that gives out useless credits and degrees which are worth less than a used piece of toilet paper. Just check out the Wikipedia entry about them if you want more info...there are sources that are cited to back up the info about them. For instance, the US and Iowa state senates plus other groups are after them for all kinds of shady crap. They've even been audited by the US Dept of Education for keeping bits of federal aid for students to pay for tuition and books, and will refuse to disburse the total amt of aid if you call them out!!) Sorry to tangent, but I can't imagine these other places being much more reputable...or at least I wouldn't sink any $$$ into their BS and would hate for others to have to earn the hard way, losing precious money and time, only to likely end up in debt, with a low FICO and a piece of paper that isn't even good enough to use as TP!

I am likely going to have to switch phone numbers to get them off my back.

Well, it's another new month and this new parasite, as well as the usual old parasites have begun calling me long distance (this one, the same 'leech' - 'Kaplan University', but now using an AZ number) to my 'for emergency only use' private cell phone number...pfft! This unsolicited caller has called my cellphone repeatedly since just before 2PM today...ringing twice then hanging-up? After reading similar notes from others here, as well as performing a numbers search, I've now confirmed this number to be the same Verified SPAMMER, as I too have never contacted the University of Phoenix or Kaplan University...nor do I have any need or desire to do so! These idiots must be 'in cahoots' with the University of Phoenix as they've both been 'hounding' me since Sunday, 12/18/11 and both orginate from the Phoenix, AZ area?

I do not answer calls from numbers not listed in my phone's 'Contact List', but instead, I add them as a Verified SPAMMER to it, so that I'll know that such 'bogus' calls are to be ignored in the future. In addition, I never respond to nor return these calls, especially using the "press 1 to be removed" feature, as all types of calls like these are all just simply SCAMs and these types of 'leeches' obviously 'don't play by the rules' anyway. Calling them back or picking-up the calls only shows them that you are in fact a 'live' number. I ignore these calls so that maybe after several rings/unanswered calls, parasites like these might hopefully and eventually drop my number from their 'Who To Try and SCAM Today' list.

BTW, don't believe the 'trolls' that tell you that you must have unknowingly signed-up at one time or another with the SPAMMERs, as I sometimes wonder if these people are in fact legitimate posters? I have never listed my cellphone number anywhere nor with anyone and I do not use it to call anybody...except for emergency purposes only; i.e., medical, fire, and law enforcement; therefore, I'm assuming that SPAMMERs like these have 'tapped' into the various cell provider databases? In addition, I'm unsure if the Do Not Call List even works, as I read a number of like responses across the internet from numerous citizens continually being plagued by SPAMMERs...yet they too have continually reported the numbers of unsolicited callers to the FTC religiously?

It's better to report them to the Federal Trade Commission as a violation of the national Do Not Call List law.  There's an $11,000 fine for businesses who call you if you're on the list.  

If they call you, get the person's name and tell them you'll be reporting them to the FTC.  Then do it (online).

Dave, you're right, your police will do nothing, but since they are costing you money and/or cell time by calling your cell phone, you can contact your State Attorney Generals Office. The state AG's office will contact them. This has worked for me, only problem is it sometimes takes weeks before the problem is resolved

First ask for the persons name, then ask to speak with their supervisor, then insist that the supervisor take your name off their calling list. Tell them you have their address and you will Contact your state attorney generals office in your state and file a complaint...

I get called by them five times of day. I told them that I wasn't interested and I've even told them that they had the wrong number a few times but it just WILL NOT stop!

602 286-2200 Even though I don't have caller ID through the phone company my electronic phone screen picks up this number 24 hours a day my phone lights up and beeps showing this number...Very strange..can the FCC do anything?

They keep calling me cell phone for the past 2 days 3 times a day and never leave a damn message. I think its pre recorded. There's another number out there that does the same thing but it was some random person!

I have been getting calls from the online college regually. They call while I am at work and never leave a message. I have called several times to tell them I am not interested, but they keep calling.

I got 3 calls from this number and never answered one call and they kept calling. They never left a message.

Get at least 6 calls from this # everyday.. Its really annoying

It's an online college. Kaplan University. The only reason I get their calls, is because I'd asked online for some info about their curriculum for computer networking. Otherwise, if I'd not asked for any info, I'm sure they wouldn't call. If, after I was to say that I'm no longer interested, and they still call, I'll be sure to let you all know. Because THAT would be irritating!

Oh man, I just requested information on their Networking program and I got the first call 5 minutes later. This is going to be a nightmare!!!!

This "online college" called after I did an online college search. They called seven times within 24 hours. I called them today and asked to be removed from thier calling list. They said it would take 24 hours to stop receiving calls. I hope so. They don't even leave a message when they call. It is Kaplan University.

Yup Kaplan. They asked from what number I was calling form I told them and they told me that they were following up on some chick who requested information from them. I informed them that they had the wrong person. and they claimed that they will put my # on the do not call list. I guess we'll see

They call from different numbers. sometimes they leave a voicemail. A few times after they call I will get an email from them.

Thanks for the info. I did an echat with them yesterday, and all they wanted to do was enroll me. I had legitimate questions, and they were just selling,selling,selling. I told them, Im NOT enrolling until my quesions are answered. Then, I was "transferred" to 3 other people. It was very frustrating. Now they are calling.

Very easy fix to this, when they ask for you, tell them they have the wrong number

I put my number in on their website and within 3min and I swear to god it was about 3min cause I was still on their site they called me 4x and never left a voice mail.

FYI:
You unfortunately cannot report these idiots to your local Police if you are not living in Phoenix, Az. due to the fact that your local PD doesn't have jurisdiction over them. Phoenix PD doesn't care because you live out of their jurisdiction. I did ask for info at one time and got a call from their offices in Florida. Told them wasn't interested at that time and they said they would contact me in a few months, started getting daily calls 3 days later, never answered and now I'm getting calls from this #. They are relentless.

Looked this # up online it definitely belongs to Kaplan University, here is there address in Arizona:
