Cheg- thank you for your lengthy post. Very helpful! I immediately called and registered my number.  If they call back a third (!) time I'll report them. I asked them this morning not to call, they asked for someone whosr name isnt familiar to me & I've had this phone for years. Seems to me to be a scam to collect lists of 'live' ph numbers to sell to marketers. Slime.

These people started by calling my mother's cell phone. It was a man named Ray, and how they got ahold of my mother's cell phone number is beyond us. She told me about it, so I called them, since the call pertained to me. I was informed by Ray that it had to do with an old student loan that I thought was in deferrement. He verified my address, which the address they had on file was over 5 years old. Explained my current circumstances to him, and he was very polite about it all, and said that he would contact me sometime later. Then I started getting calls from these people 4 to 5 times a day, 6 days a week! I have asked them to send me documentation of what it is that I owe, and still have recieved nothing. Finally about 2 weeks ago I flipped out on the lady that called, told her that No my circumstances had not changed, No I could not pay anything at this time, That Yes I had already made arragements, and to Stop calling me 4 times a day 6 days a week. I have heard not a thing from them since....Are these people legit????

Seems like after the problems with target, I'm getting people calling me, but I'm not who they want.  They want you to verify the last four digits of your social security number? Yeah right!!!
They will steal you blind...don't be afraid & don't give them anything.

Actuly many collection agencies depending on the amount owed and ability to exexute On the judgement can and will sue debtors for unpaid debt. Most of the time the agency owns the debt.

It is actually against the Fair Credit Collection Act (or whatever it's called) for a 3rd party to call you once you have told them not to. If it's the original debtor calling, they can continue to call. 3rd party collectors MUST stop once they are told. This does not mean a judegment can't be obtained and/or garnishment, but the calls must stop.

How can creditors get away with acting this way, when if any regular person off the street calls and harasses us we can call the cops and report it.

We should all take ten pieces of paper and wipe our a***s with them and send 10 letters each to their headquarters or just show up and stare at em while they walk to their cars, maybe follow them a little ways home then wait for them to come into work.

I also got a phone call and immediately hung up prior to me answering. I called back and spoke to a very nice person. He was looking for my sister and / or my nephew. I told him neither person lived here. He was polite and said he would remove my number from their call list.

602-298-0224. I asked them not to call this number again.  They asked my name and I asked theirs, and was told his name was Ron, and I do not know anyone named that, nor who they were looking for.  I hope they do not call back, I had my phone for several years, so should know everyone that calls me.  I also reported them to the Do Not Call Registry at 1-888-382-1222.  I registered a complaint, because, I DID ask them not to call, again...and I want to make sure they listen.

Also, I have been on the Do-Not-Call-Registry for a while, and I expect they will not further violate the government laws.  I have NEVER done business with them, and all the companies I do business with are programmed on my phone.  They were asked to stop calling me, and they had no right to call me in the first place.

I do not owe money to anyone, either...if it is a collection's agency.  Hopefully, if everyone reports them, the phone calls will stop, and the company will go out of business when they cannot afford the bills from violating the Do Not Call Registry Laws.

When a collection's agency is asked not to call, they CANNOT call back, either.  I never have done business with a collection's agency, before, either.  I pay my bills, unless there was a billing error, in which case, I resolve the bill with the merchant that I have done business with, directly.  If they insist I owe money, I dispute it with the credit reporting agency, also.

You have to be aware of legitimate companies, and scams, both of which can be on your credit report, and gain access to your phone numbers, and make you be responsible for bills that were NOT created by yourself, too.

If this was a legitimate agency trying to collect a debt, someone game my private phone number to this company...and if it was a scam, they gained access to my phone number, illegally...either way, they were asked NOT TO CONTACT ME BY PHONE...and they need to respect my decission not to be harrassed by phone, again.  If they do not listen, they will have to pay for each phone call thereafter, as they are all being logged via complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry.

If it is a collection agency, they were asked not to call, either, and will additionally be reported to the FCC and Credit agency if it shows up in my credit report, or on my caller-id which also logs the calls, and complaints.

I hope this helps anyone that gets calls from this number, and all numbers that bother them.

Report them to the National Do Not Call Registry Number...that registers a complaint against the company.  Their phone # is 1-888-382-1222.  Use this phone number to register for the Do Not Call Registry, and also you can register complaints to those that violate the rules by contacting those on the Do Not Call Registry, too.

If you are not registered, you are still protected from harassing phone calls, if the person used a pre-recorded message to contact you, and not a live person.  It is against the law to do this, regardless if a person is on the Do Not Call List, or not.

Please, program this phone number into your phone and even on speed-dial.  The information needed to register the complaint is the date and phone number if you have it of the phone call you received.  If you know who called you or if you have asked the caller not to call you, again, and if you ever did business with the company in the last 18 months...this is helpful, but not required to register a complaint.  Even if you do not know the phone number it is okay, because the government can do research and trace the caller and still make them pay some money for violating the government's Do Not Call Registry Laws.

Called this number back, talked with a Tony...said they were automated calls trying to collect debts.  However the debt they are trying to collect is from a person with the same name as I.  I told them on the first call that they should verify the information on the debtor and not call a person with the same name.  He said it is an automated call but my wife spoke with a foreign sounding lady and it sure was not automated.  It was the second call after I told the woman to remove my number and not call again.  That sure did  not work.  I did tell them one more call and I would see my lawyer.

Why don't these jerks find out who they are calling before dialing.  Just because I and many others have the same name, can't they determine who they really want by age, address and etc.  I am sick and tired of getting collection calls that have no bearing on me.

A man by the name of Sam Sorenson just called me from NCC Business systems asked if I was used my correct name and asked if I knew a Pamela Harris. Told him I was sorry that I did not. He thanked me and hung up but I have gotten several calls from this number and normally I don't answer them just let it ring. Today I did for some unknown reason. What is up with this company and why don't they verify information before they call and harass someone.

Just received ANOTHER call from this number at 9:45 at night. I've told them repeatedly that I am NOT the person they are looking for nor do I know who that person is. Aren't there rules against these kind of people calling at odd hours of the night and morning. They always call between 6:45am-7:30am and 9pm-10pm. That cannot be legal!

Had an interview with them here in phoenix and got the feeling that it was not a great place to work. had two interviews with them in 10 minutes and first on was with a shift manager that was fat and thought she was better than anyone. and the QC manager who basically was powerless but also said that they do not harass people and these people are getting back at society for being bullied in high school.

I received a call from this number regarding a family member. I asked with whom the lady I was speaking to was affiliated, and she said this is a private business call, and hung up. What is the logic behind their strategy of harassing relatives of debtors?

They're currently doing the same thing to myself and my husband. They call us both, and whenever they call me they use my maiden name and act like they don't know our relationship status.
