Called again about 3 times this week AFTER I told them they had the wrong number.   The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced it's spam from the buyout between AT&T and DirectTv.

Got a call from this number 5 times this week, finally answered it and it was direct tv, I explained that they had the wrong number to confirm an installation, very kind person said the number was probably entered incorrectly.  After correcting their mistake, I get more calls from same number.

?It is Direct TV. I?m sure like others? when I saw an 800# with the title ?TOLL FREE CALLER? I simply picked up  the handset one inch off the phone and slammed it down? without listening? just to disconnect it.
I then went on the web and found this site and when one of the posters here said it was Direct TV I called the number back and it was.

Here?s the absolute stupidity of a billion dollar company like Direct TV? I had set an appointment this morning for a service call. WHY ON THE LORD?S GREEN EARTH WOULD DIRECT TV BLOCK IT?S NUMBER WHEN PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR FROM THEM WHEN THEY HAVE SERVICE ISSUES??.

It?s like the state lottery blocking it?s number if they were calling you to pick up a check. Whoever made the decision at Direct TV to block its confirmation call name should be fired. It?s absolutely ludicrous!?

I don't know if this is really DirecTV or not, but if it is, then they need to start leaving a message when they get the machine. I don't understand why supposedly legitimate companies are suddenly failing to leave messages these days. If they want to keep people's business, then they need to start treating people with respect. I am getting really sick and tired of the massive FAIL that is Customer Service these days. Proper Customer Service should be the norm, not the exception. This is very frustrating.

Now, if that's the case, it's a sad state of affairs in this country. I know that I get annoyed with AT&T's auto service when you call them. It used to say in Spanish to press a certain number if you wish the call to continue in that language, but now it says in English, "Press one to continue this call in English." I'm sorry, but as an English speaking person, I find it offensive that the message has been changed in such a way.

If you're in this country, and you're holding a job, learn the language! If you want to speak your native language at home, or amongst friends, fine, but when you're in a work environment, you should be learning the language of your adopted country!

I've had DirecTV since 2005. The only time I lose the picture is during a REALLY HORRID thunderstorm, or a REALLY HEAVY snowstorm. It's out for a few hours at the MOST. Once the storm is done, or the snow lightens up, the signal is restored. Is it annoying? Yeah, but no more than most things these days.

I realize my info comes a few years too late for you, but those are the facts. The only DVR I sometimes have issues with after a storm, is the one hi-def box I have. So when it has issues and won't come back on after a storm, I just unplug the box, wait 10 - 20 seconds, and plug it back in. The system reboots, and everything is fine. Apparently the hi-def boxes are just a lot more sensitive than the regular ones.

I received a voicemail from this number confirming a tech will be here in 15 minutes from Direct TV. I don't have Direct TV, nor did a tech show up.

Most businesses show their name with their phone number so people who screen calls thru caller ID accept the call.
I screen all my calls with caller ID. If I don't know the name or number, I don't answer. If they don't leave a message, I block the number on my phone..and file a " Do not call" complaint here:

Until you file a complaint for EVERY unsolicited call it will not stop.

Yes, it's DirecTV confirming our installation appointment.  Thank you to everyone who posts to this board -- if I hadn't seen these posts I never would have answered their calls!  I wish that all companies would come up on caller ID with their names.  These calls show up as "Unavailable" on our caller ID.

If you tired of getting unwandter calls I know how to stop them Go Amazon.com and order a caller id blocker its about 60.00 dollars but its well worth it you can block all 800 numbers and other area codes you dont want to come through or even phone numbers that you dont want it holds up 1500 numbers and it works on all phones in your house just to remind you the phone you have hooked up to the caller id blocker that id wont work but you will see the number of the person calling. if its a number you have blocked it will rind maybe once and then stop. its the best 60 dollars i ever spent  I hope this helps
