This number calls here over and over, looking for a relative of mine who has never had this number or lived with me. The automated call tells you to press "5" if you are not "this person", but I have pressed it over and over, and it keeps calling several times a week and at all times of the day. I assume it is collections. They are not even harassing the right person. I tried calling them back to talk to someone, but it put me on hold and then cut me off.

A letter arrived today from CRME, addressed to a person who lived in my building a long time ago.  She moved from the apartment listed on the letter to another apartment in the building at least 20 years ago and moved out of the building about 10-12 year ago.  She passed away in the beginning of April this year.  

The letter is an attempt to collect almost $2,300 in medical bills.  

To me, it smells like a scam - IF my former friend and neighbor incurred any debt while living in this building, the statute of limitation have expired.  IF my former friend and neighbor incurred the debt within the last few years, her new address would have been given when the (if any) debt was sold to CRME!

They have been buying up old medical debts (or thought to be) for pennies on the dollar.  Then the attempt to collect them by offering a "deal" for less money.  Problem is,,,,the medical bills may have been paid to the medical facility AFTER they have sold the debt to these scums.  CMRE does NOT check it out when you report that it was paid to the hospital.
