A little education goes a long way...

1. The little note on Craigs list that says "it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests", this only applies, and can be enforced by Craigslist to those people who have signed up with Craigslist and agreed to their Terms and Services.  Otherwise, anyone can contact you, especially if you posted your phone number in your add for anyone to see.  Posting your phone number on the internet in this way also, exempts you from any Do Not Call list that you may have registered with as well.
2. Telemarketers use auto dialers.  They don't actually sit there and manually dial phone numbers these days.  These autodialers dial multiple numbers at the same time, and the numbers that connect are sent directly to the available telemarketer.  If all the telemarkets are already talking with someone, then your number gets disconnected.  That is why sometimes when you answer, it seems as though they hung up on you.  If you decide to call them back on the number left on your caller ID, they should answer you or you should at least get their recording if they are busy on other calls at the time.

So, yes I too had an ad on Craigslist.  I was called by these people when I was not home.  I called them back and posted my ad with them, it was free and I've not received any spam so far.  I googled the number and came here to see what others may have experienced but, for the most part I only read comments from people who obviously find it easy to complain, and have little idea about what they are talking about.

Clearly, you are the caller posting a fake response.  I understand that you have to eat and pay for housing, but doing so under false pretenses is NOT OK.

I got a call from them Victoria was her name she said she was from fox 10 classifieds after asking if the item I posted on craigslist was still available. I hung up on her.

THis is a telemarketing agency that purchases/pulls phone numbers put into Craigslist for ITEMS FOR SALE.  Not a scam, just another agency tryiing to sell a service.

Dean clearly you stopped taking your medicine!  Either take your medicine or put the "I'm Stupid" sign back on.

I read all your comments, it must have something to do with the advertising on Craig's list or other. I do have a post also. I guess this dilly does not know how to call as a blocked number. :)  He/she called, when I answered they hung up.

Update: finally got somebody on the phone. She said that they have to Aswer to their boss, and even thou it says on my Ad to not call, they don't care it is their job to call. Got the name for a "supervisor" who off course was not there. It is: Tony Cassar. Will try to figure out how and where to report them. Told them to stop calling and she said that it will take at least 24 hours. I got 3 calls on less than 2 hours. This is abuse!

Had an ad on CL yesterday that I took down (sold the item) and have been getting calls on it all day from this number, but no answer and nobody on the other end when I pick up.

Count me in. A single CL ad. I don't appreciate random people calling cell. Let's pin this guy down!

i put an ad on CL and am also getting phone calls from this number.  they would not leave message on missed calls. I called them back with the same fox classifieds

Thanks for the post.  I got a call yesterday from this number but I didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message.  I just got a call again today from that same number.  This tiime I answered and they hung up on me.  I also have a few things listed on Craigslist.  I just posted them a few days ago.

I have gotten 4  'hang-up' calls from this number between 2/25/10 - 3/5/10.  Between the times of 3:35pm mst and 5:55 pm  mst.

I just got a call from this same number.  Checked them out.  I have an ad on CL as well.  I wouldn't trust this.  Why do they have to go to other ad listing to get ads.  Won't click on that link or answer another call.

I GOT TWO CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER BUT DIDN'T RECOGNIZE IT SO DIDN'T PICK UP.  AFTER CHECKING THESE COMMENTS I'M GLAD I DIDN'T ANSWER.

CALLING MY CELL WILL NOT LEAVE MESSAGE CALL AT LEAST TWICE A DAY I DO NOT ANSWER

I have received 2 calls today from that number. I did not answer, they did not leave a message. I had a posting on craigslist for a day (a few days ago) with my number on it. Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe we should get together and call this number repetitively one day. Just a thought.

I got called by this number after listing an item for sale on Craigslist - same as just about everyone else posting here. I answered the call on the second ring, but heard no one on the other end. So I called back, only to find out that this was not anyone interested in buying my item for sale, but a company providing an "alternative listing method". I complained that since they were not interested in buying my for-sale item, they are telemarketers spamming my number, which is listed on the federal Do Not Call registry. Rather than hanging up quickly, I was surprised that the Fox Classifieds agent actually wanted to stay on the line and argue about whether she was spamming me, and asked if I had any "proof" that she was a spammer. No matter what I said or what objection I raised, she remained on the line to continue the argument. Finally I hung up. These people are leeches. Their gall is amazing.

The D.N.C. List doesn't work if they get ur number off call list.

****BEST TIP I HAVE FOR CRAIG'S LISTERS****

Do not post your phone number on craigs list in the ad. Let them reply to your post through email and if they are serious, then have THEM email you THEIR phone number and you call them from a blocked phone or phone other than your own personal cell. Got this tip from a Lister who has not had a scam call for a few years now.

Recieved Phone call from this number. Did not answer my phone and called back from blocked number. Caller did not identify himself (heavy Middle East/ Indian accent) talked about posting my item some where else. I cursed him and hung up. Craigslist is a great site. I use it all the time. We need to help this site continue to grow and weed out the crap

They keep calling me too.  I even registered on the National Do Not Call Registry and they still keep calling.  DAM SCAMMERS
