They've been calling me too. Caller ID says "Hydro Aluminum", but when I talked to them they identified themselves as "Mediation Services". They say they are helping people refinance their homes with some Obama money and that they were affiliated with Citimortgage. Lots of red flags, so I tried to look them up on the internet. It's impossible to tell for sure, but they don't appear to be legit. I am on hold with them right now because I tried to call them back. But listening to their horrible piano music for half an hour now. It's ok, I'm watching the game too, have free long distance, and call waiting. I'm just curious if they will EVER answer.

This is a Fraudulent Company. If you give them any money to help refinance your home you will get nothing. Your Mortgage company will help work with you. If not call your own lawyer.

Apparently warnings only last so long. The calling started up again on Feb. 3. I had not been home for any of the calling and my grandparents (who don't understand the concept that it's a computer calling them not a person) were under the impression that the company would get tired and stop calling.

I spoke to someone and informed him that his company was in violation of the TCPA, that his company was liable for $500 every time past the allowed "oopsie" call and that if any further violations ensue I would be more than happy to take them to small claims court. Filing will cost me anywhere from $60 to $120. It will cost them (based on the phone call list I have on our phone) a lot more.

I filed a complaint with the FCC and tomorrow I plan on filing with the BBB.

My grandparents had been getting this call repeatedly and they had pressed 2 each time. Finally when the company called after 7pm (while my grandparents were getting ready for bed) I had had enough. I picked up and pressed 1 to talk to someone. Eventually I got the recorded message that all of their people were busy with other calls (right, I'm sure that's the reason). So I opted to leave them a message. I thankfully know the Telephone Consumer Protection Act's rules. After stating our phone number as a reference point I informed the company if that my grandparents had hit 2 to be removed several times and as such the company should have placed our number on the Do Not Call List. The repeated calling after the allowance of one "oops" call (meaning they're allowed to call you once after the initial removal request, if only by accident) they were now in violation of the TCPA and I would be quite happy to take them to small claims court. I also informed them that we know they aren't with Citi Mortgage and that we have been informing our Citi Mortgage contact each and every time we've been called by Hydro Aluminum. They haven't called since. Here is a link to the TCPA for those of you who can't get them to stop:

Okay so this was 5 times this week for this company calling even after pressing 2 to be removed. I called the # back, waited for the recorded message and actually talked with a lady named Rachele. I told her I have requested to be taken off their list and still get their calls and if it continues I would report them for harrassment. She sounded a little scared at that and said 'oh no don't do that. I will take you number off our list right now'.  Well we'll see! If you google this company all you get are a bunch of  "aluminum" companies and nothing to do with this one.

If this company knew anything about our mortgage they would not be calling me.  They are not CitiMortgage.  They call us with a fake Caller ID listed as "Hydro Aluminum."  They have been leaving automated messages, sometimes twice a day, for weeks.  We always press 2 to get removed from the list, and it never works.  Today I called, waited on hold for about 5 minutes and finally got through to a human.  I told the guy that I knew they were not CitiMortgage and that if I got ONE more phone call from them that I would report them.  He said "it's an automated service," and started back-pedaling.  They had my name and who knows what other information.  Something very shady going on here.

We keep getting calls from this "company" who say they are calling on behalf of Citimortgage about us being approved for a loan modification. If we want to talk to someone then press 1, if we want to be taken off their list then press 2. Well I've done that several times but they keep calling. Last night I pressed 1 to talk with some one, was put on hold to listen to music. When the music quit (about 3 minutes) so did the connection and the phone went dead. Guess they really didn't want to talk with me very bad. I also asked some one at Citi if they knew about this company and of course they didn't...no one at Citi ever knows what the he11 goes on anyway!

I got a few calls from them.  Finally spoke to someone today, red flags started going off when he said there was a government program that was going to pay my closing costs, and when he gave me a general company name like "mediation services" - Can you imagine what kind of Google results I'd get with THAT name?  AND while I was on the phone with him, I tried to look up any government program that might be similar to what he was calling "Government Guidline Program." I called our mortgage company (Citi) and they said they are not affiliated.
"Mediation Services" claims that we won't have to make a mortgage payment for 60 days because our "account will be frozen" - leading me to wonder if they are telling me that so we are forced into foreclosure and they swoop in and take advantage of our mess.  Citi says I was right to call them and work out a deal directly with them because that other company is known to charge large amounts of money to "modifiy" the loan.  DO NOT WORK WITH THEM!  Call your mortgage company directly!!

They call our home and cell phone repeatedly (even on Christmas Eve at dinner time!!) Recorded message about being prequalified for a loan modification. We tried for 18 months to get a modification and finally got denied a few months ago (right about the time they started calling!). They are in no way connected with our mortgage company, just a mediation company with annoying practices. They have repeatedly called after we told them not to, IF we can get to a person.

the message I got said it was about a loan modification we applied for and to call them back. Seems legit!
