I just called the real BCBS, and they have no idea what this call is about, nor do they recognize this number. I'm glad I called the customer service number on the back of my BCBS card instead of this random toll-free number.

Called and left a voice-mail. Canned recording claiming to be from BlueCross BlueShield regarding recent health care coverage. Because they should already have all the pertinent information, I'm not biting.  They can contact us by U.S. Mail if they need any additional information.

The person also identified as being with blue cross, but wanted me to provide information such as date of birth.  I declined and called blue cross.  The customer service person thought it was unusual since I have been with them for a while.  Be safe and don't give out personal info to an "toll-free" number..

This turned out to be Blue Cross Blue Shield wanting to.discuss my recent healthcare plan.  It is an automated dialer and once you answer, it connects you to the next available plan representative.  It is real and not spam, but it is also a frustrating way to do business.
