They now leave a message when they call-unless there is a name or indication this is not who they are trying to reach.  No info is given before verification of who they are talking to because of the HIPA laws and legal stuff.

I just recieved the call from the number mentioned above. As a policy holder and someone in the know, health dialog is a real program comprised of customer service reps and nurses. They are especially useful to expectant mothers or individuals with other conditions that require ongoing care.
Granted, I might think its a little creepy that they could be using health information to target certain individuals, but the callback number she left on my voicemail is a real number for the company (ending in 2583 or 'BLUE') and the calls are legit.
I can't speak to why anyone not covered by the company would get the call.

As far as ignorant dropped policyholders comments or negative publicity is concerned, read up on the laws that these companies have to follow now.

Recd call from a guy identifying himself as a health coach. I let him know that I did not want to be contacted. He said okay. I do not have BC but if I want to talk to someone about my health I will contact my doctor.

I recieved a call today from this number and thought it might be a scam.  My husband just called our insurance provider and verified that yes, the Nurse Heath Coach service is provided.  Additionally, our insurance provider verified that my number had been called today.

603-627-2285 called Oct 23, 2013 at 8:58 pm (LATE!).  Caller ID = HEATH COACH.  They did leave a message saying they were from Florida Blue Health Dialog Program. They said if I don't call them, they will keep calling me. They want me to call 877-789-2583.

The news this week told about Florida Blue sending cancellation letters to 300,000 of individual health policy holders.

From what I learned, Florida Blue wants to dump all unhealthy customers, and keep the healthy customers to make more money.

F*** you. I called them back and they wanted my name. I said that thay should know because they called me on my cell from which I was calling. She insissted that "it was the only way she could "help me". Help me?
I said ,"you give me your cell number and I will call it at 9 o'clock at night and ask you who you are."

When this intrusive idiot calls with his scam, just say "Pug May Jow Too" which means fu in Hindi. He will be really ticked at this and will call you incessantly from all of his various phone numbers. Report all numbers asap to the FTC and DOJ. Hopefully they can figure out that these fools are calling with fake numbers purporting to be from La Jolla, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale in Florida and Dallas, Tx even though they are really from India.

You health care coaches have become a pain in the a.ss to people,  most of whom do not want your calls.
They are nothing but a menace.

There is more than one way of looking at this. When one is looking for help and needs help, such calls would be welcome. However, we have received these calls and they ask endless nosy questions about your daily routine, then when you tell them you are exercising and this and that, they call you back two weeks later and want to keep you on the phone another half hour asking the same questions. I'm a health care professional myself, but I still find this intrusive. Now, when I had serious surgery and serious sequelae, do you think anyone from BC/BS called me on the phone to see how I was doing? No. They are only interested in knowing your personal habits.

They only leave a message after the third time trying to contact you I have them as my ins and it is a service the offer however agreed with above why are you calling how do you know i have any health issues.  and not leaving a message till after the third call and then continually leaving massages for a week is ridiculus if i dont call back = I dont wnat you GD opinion so stop f**** callin me .

This is true health care rep. They are your friends offering advice on your health. Stop being so cynical and answer it.. tell them your health as it exists today. They know what your condition is and want to help. Unless you do not want to improve, then just hang up!!!!

Got a call from this number today and she said she was from Florida Blue (former BC/BS) and she asked me to verify my DOB and mailing address.  I told her once she told me what the call was regarding then I would decide if I wanted to verify my information.  We went through this three times then she said if I have any questions to call the number on the back of my insurance card.

What a waste of time!!!

Called 2 days in a row wih no message left. If it is someone from BCBS, how did they get MY number, since I do NOT have any insurance through them? Plus, if they are, why not leave a message? Not professional. Personally, I smell a scam.

got the hold msg then a person. i asked why i got a call from this number. the "nurse" asked for my name and date of birth. i said no, what about my phone number? she couldn't pull up anything under my phone number.

she said it's associated with certain health plans and employer groups.

blah blah blah...

we DID call my husband's health insurance help line last week but since i didn't know for sure that this call was really a follow up associated with that situation, i declined to give any further info.

Spam! Not only do I not want their services, I don't have health insurance and I have a strong dislike of the medical profession in general. So what the (invective of your choice) are they calling me for?

This is pure nonsense. I got a call this evening from "Health Coach," and I don't have BCBS insurance. This is data mining, and if you tell them anything, you're asking for trouble. Demand to know how they got your number and any information they think they know about you. That is, if you take the call. Better to let it ring unanswered. I took my answering machine off my line. No one can leave me a message, but I call back the #'s I recognize from caller ID. Works for me.

They probably don't leave msg, do do heads, because of strict privacy laws around health information.

I agree, if you're legit, leave a message. We don't answer the call if we don't know who it is. It's annoying! Why would I talk to some random person from New Hampshire about my health anyway?
