called, didn't answer, no message

Can someone explain exactly how this is a scam? I just paid for a security system from them this morning, and after reading these posts I'm now worried.

Scammers can get a little confused about this site. You should do you homework, then you would understand that sites like this are for the benefit of your potential victims to avoid well known SCAMS like yours.

Of course you don't know any better, that's why you're not qualified for honest work!

You folks should do a little homework on the products and services that you are bad-mouthing.  Please do not make assumptions without the information that corresponds to the complaint.  Very unprofessional.  You all should know better!

Just received a call from this number 2:10 pm.  Said hello and they hung up

Received a call from this number today 9/7 at 12:30 pm to a western Massachusetts area code. Didn't answer, no message. Called it back and was prompted to opt out of future calls, I just hung up.

They are trying to set up an appointment for sales pitch about their home security system.

I got an autodial too. I never signed up to receive unsolicited commercial autodials from them. I have never done business with them either. I haven't researched it properly but eHow says that we can sue for $500 for such practices.

I just got the call on my cell phone with a Phoenix AZ area code.  I don't know anyone from NH so I didn't answer.  Now its time to figure out who sold my cell phone number to these guys, and also report them to the FCC.

Where are you guys located? I just got a call from these guys about 15 minutes ago, and I'm in Modesto CA. I didn't answer but I got the same voice mail that you all got. It's gotta be a scam I just want to know how they got my number.

I just got a call from them too. I didn't answer, so my post is pretty much useless, but Chas is probably right. They may just want to know who doesn't have a security system so they can rob you blind. Tell them you don't need their security system because you own a pitbull and several shotguns.

Automated message (female voice) trying to scare me into buying home security system. I did not "press 1". Sounds like a total scam. They probably want your address, so they can burgle you, with the knowledge that you have no home security!

I get two to three calls each week from these guys. It's getting old. Next time they call I will go through the entire procedure in getting the home visit set up, then I will post all the details here so we can push this with the FCC. I asked her to stop calling me and the b***c hung up.

Got a call from this number a minute ago.  Took a minute for them to come on the line after I answered.  A girl said she was with a security company and I told her that I preferred to remain insecure.  She paused for a second and then said "listen, I'm just trying to earn some money" and then hung up.

Don't know anyone from this number, no message left.

me too, but I put an unknown prepaid phone on a one to one message yesterday on okcupid.com could it be okcupid.com how is up to shomething or the recipient of the message not being straight about who and what they are, or just a coincidence and random dial.

Didn't answer the number don't know any 603 area people and I never sign this number to any documents as this was my personal phone... must be random number dialer and they go after any sap that picks up.

Told me Home Security Network then abruptly, but not surprisingly, hung up.
