I live in Canada and I got a call from this number today on my home phone number which is on the national DNC listing.  Same as most everyone else, call the number back and it states "if you wish to be placed on our DNC list please press 1 and wait 24 hours for it to process....

Do not call me again.

Probably a phishing operation, not telemarketing.

They called and no one was there- just disconnected. Its my work Blackberry too!

to the guy asking if it was only Verizon phones getting called, the answer is no. I think these scummy telemarketers use public records like auto registration or court documents to 'harvest' cell numbers. There's a company that does that not far from where I live.

I didn't answer this time, but if the previous post is correct that the company is going by the name "Credit Card Services", I've received calls from them in the past and asked to be removed (twice!). Their 'do not call' list is bogus, they give you that option when you call them back to placate angry people who would otherwise report them to the state attorney general.

I've gotten 3 calls from them on my cell in spite of telling me to take me off their call list. Not to mention my cell is on the National Do Not Call List. Shut thesepeople down.

Same here. Sounds like a scam and I have never done business with this number.

This number has called my cell phone four times, when I pick up, they disconnect.  I've called back and the message says "if you would like to be put on our do not call list, press 1."  I never pressed the 1 because I don't know who is calling or why??!  I live 1000 miles away (Mid-West) are people from all over the country getting them.  My phone service is Cricket, which isn't in all states.

I received a call from this number on my cell phone at 9:47am. I did not recognize the # and when I answered it was a recording about security systems as well. It never identified a company name or anything. I'm sick of these type of invasion of my personal time phone calls on my cell. When I called the # back, I got, "Hello and thank you for calling. If you would like to be placed on our do not call list, press 1 now." Can anyone direct me as to where I can be placed on a do not call list?

I received a call from this number.  An automated call wanting to install a "free" home security system.  Just press 1 if you are a home owner.  It then disconnected.

I received a phone call yesterday and today from this number. I answered the first time; there was no one there. I did not answer the second time and they did not leave a message. I tried to call the number back and heard a message stating to press 1 if I wanted to be on the do not call list - but it disconnected me instead.

yup.  me too.  seems to be calling every other day.

Got a call on my cell from this number today, no message left. Been getting lots of calls from Credit Card Services lately so started tracking their numbers not sure on this one. If anyone knows who it does belong to let me know please.

Also just a note the attorney general in your state should be able to help you with these issues, I live in MN and they offer help if you want to take these companies to court to seek an order to stop future violations and recover money for any damages. This is a federal law and they can be fined up to $500 for each offense.

It could be an automated call that phishes for numbers and e-mail addresses. Google - " Blackberry Virus".  it's not harmfull but it's a nuisance. I got a call about credit card rates but I don't have any credit cards. when asked if she was selling a card she hung up and my phone turned off completely. it's still very rare that a blackberry will get a virus but it is possible.

The national do not call list is still there but I know I had 2 cells that I put on it back in 06 and they are not on it today, until I signed up again...

These are internet robo-dialers that route calls so they're untraceable. If you answer you'll hear a pitch regarding alarms, car insurance, or to lower your credit card rates. If you get to a live person and ask ANYTHING about who they are they hang up. Total scam.

Best thing to do when they call is to answer, pretend like you are interested and waste their time so they can call less people.

Received call from this number on my cell phone.  I let it ring five times before attempting to answer- nobody there.  I too have Verizon for my cell carrier-- so I wonder if these telemarketers are common only to Verizon.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone stating that they were a home security company and they were in the area and if I was interested in a home security service to please press one. When I sat there for a moment seeing if it would give me further options it did not, it kept repeating please press one, please press one, please press one. I am not a home owner. I received a similar call from a number with a 713 area code last week, stating that if I was interested in lowering my interest rates on my credit card to please press one. When I did, a woman said something and was difficult to understand when I asked her kindly to please repeat herself, she grunted and hung up on me. When I tried calling the number back, it went straight to voicemail and said the mailbox belonging to this number was full. I have also been receiving telemarketing text messages and scam text messages at 4 and 5 in the morning stating that I am the closest heir to a deceased relative and to contact a web address concerning this matter. I called my cell phone provider and was informed that in fact you can now recieve spam and telemarketing text messages. Verizon does provide a free service that will block them for you. Hope this helps...

It was a spam call received in Charlottesville VA about home security systems.

Just got a call from this number too on our magicjack first time this has happened. So far magicjack has screened calls pretty well. When we called it back they hung up.

Just received a call from this number and waited for someone to pick up after the automated message.  No one picked up so I just hung up and called it back.  When I called it back, there was a gentleman's voice (automated message) asking if I wanted to be put on the DNC list to press "1".  So I did - we'll see if it works.

i got the call from Jennifer.  who the hell she is try to install alarm system for free.  I hate advertising.
