This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

The machine told me to press a button number, I did it, and immediatly someone was speaking to me about an account and a debt.  I asked the guy to speak in french with me ... and he hung up !

Holding the phone up to the fire alarm gets the message across a hell of a lot better. Just saying......

When I finally pressed '1' to talk to a person, the guy told me he was high and asked if I had ever been high. When I asked to speak to his supervisor, he said only if I answered his question. So, I get that this is a scam, and that obviously asking to be removed from their list is not effective, but is there any recourse? What are they trying to achieve? Is it worth a call to the cops?

Got a call from this number and didn't answer. Thanks to everyone who reports on these idiots.

Got a call from this number in Ottawa - didn't answer - wish we could get rid of these people - Bell won't help - government won't help but if we find out who is behind this like the head of the company a gun would help or perhaps a rope around his lower section if he has any.

Called at 6:25, during supper, naturally.  Recorded message pushing some nonsense about credit cards. Phishing slime balls.  On DNC list, which seems to be pointless.

Get this caller occasionally about credit cards...just hung up.

they hang up as soon as I pick up and answer in French. I keep a whistle near to blow their ears out when I get live scammers. Annoying.

I been getting these calls for a long time now. I pressed one to talk to an operator, I wanted to tell them to remove my name from the list. Once I said take my number off your list the reply was F' Off and they hung up.

They call me twice a week  they seriously ask me about my credit card account that I d'ont have

Do not answer this call, scam. I do not know how they get my number and name

It is a scam.They steal a legitimate phone number from somebody to use for their purposes [they're not calling from B.C.,though it looks like they are]Nothing you can do about it.

They started blabbing "This call is about your current credit card account"   I hung up. Any legitimate call would obviously know what account I have.

I have received several calls from this number and I do not pick up the receiver anymore. 2 in the last 2 days and several times before. I am sick and tired of these calls!!!! Can't anything be done to stop them?
