Twice now, recorded msg stating GMI, listing this number and stating msg in several languages.  Does not offer an opt out number.  Why should I pay for a toll-call to tell them to never call me again???!!!

Received a call from this number and didn't answer. I see from this site that it is a legitimate survey. If you don't want their calls, call block them:  I did.  You don't need whistles or air-horns.  It only annoys your neighbours.

It was a poll for corporate greed; trying to figure out how to better sell Northern Gateway for the Orwellian named British Columbians for Prosperity. Pathetic greedy folks pretending to represent citizens.

These so-called "surveys" are paid for by somebody with an AGENDA -- and the privacy invader they hired will never tell you who they are.

That's why only stupid people respond to your surveys. Stop calling strangers. You're nothing but scum.

This number called , I answered,  no one there. I said hello twice then hung up.

I did the survey and was able to register my negative thoughts about the proposed oil pipeline.

I actually did the GMI survey and it's about the oil pipeline, so if you don't like it (as I don't) you may want to suffer through in order to say so.

I've recieved several "followup" calls but when I answer there's no sound at the other end until it hangs up. Weird.

If you have call forwarding once you have identified the number that keeps calling have it set to automatically forward the call to a premium pay number like a chat line.

I keep a referees whistle by the phone and when they say hello I speak softly like a old person and say can you hear me? Then I blast them with the whistle...Inever tire of this its fun.

It's one thing to get a call from these people but at 7AM it's really not appreciated!!

If you call me and you get a loud whistle, you know it means to take me off your list don't you? If not, repeat until you get it.

Oh, some of your victims may use airhorns or just pelt the privacy invader you hired to invade their privacy with a loud series of expletives. You may interpret this the same way as the whistle.

Got a call at 4:50 pm from this number. No name id. Ignored. Anyone know who or what this is?

I just got a call from GMI, followed up as suggested to www.bcperspectives.ca. and assuming this is correct this led me to Hill & Knowlton. According to the 'National 'Do Not Call List' -and I quote-  'Calls from organizations conducting market research, surveys, or public opinion polls are also exempt from the National Do Not Call List Rules and are not required to keep an internal do not call list. These types of calls are not telemarketing calls because the caller is not asking you to purchase, lease or rent products or services.'
So seems these calls are allowed as H&K is conducting research. I did find the following at the bottom of their privacy statement:
