This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of VOIP numbers. The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.
If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

We get these calls almost daily - put in our call block list but they just keep changing the number! Not much you can do besides change your own number
Frank 2013-06-08 03:35:59 Unknown
seem these crooks like to use numbers from Telus, I think either Telus has something to do with this or these crooks were the ex-employee form the company. I think we should file a compliant not only to CRTC but to Telus also.

Another one of the spoofed numbers used by the "card services" scammers in their attempts to rip us off. Google my name to learn how to stop their annoying calls, while also having some fun!
Tom 2013-06-02 05:27:02 Unknown
You're right, it is a scam by the drug-addicted "card services" scammers! These lowlifes pretend to be associated with our credit card companies in an effort to have us reveal our credit card numbers so they can rip us off. Beware of these scum, and warn others before they are cheated!

mean there call me every day for my credit card
Chip 2013-05-24 17:39:47 Unknown
They called me moments ago (819) area code (near Ottawa on the Quebec Side).
I pressed the number to talk to someone (because if you press the number to be removed from their phone list, it just hangs up)... I spoke very softly, so I made sure the person at the other end listened in really closely and yelled at the top of my lungs. Now, I can't speak. But well worth it. They call over and over again and I'm sick of it. I don't know where to report this type of call/scam... but I suspect they will not be calling again. I am buying a boat foghorn (CO2 type, as people use for football games) and will be using this instead of screaming next time. It gave me satisfaction! Hope you see the humour in my way of handling the situation.

AGAIN! I have already dealt with these people and asked them to remove my number from their calling list because now that I understand what their procedure is I am not comfortable with it and will NEVER be signing up.

Received call from this number April 17th in Quebec North of Ottawa (819). Asked for DOB, CC verification number and I asked them to tell me the CC they were calling about. Claimed to be "Andrew Corey" with strong Indian accent from "Card Services - Lower Interest rate Department" from both MasterCard and Visa. When I resisted I was handed off to another Indian sounding person who was trying to be more forceful who went through the same speil in broken English.
Definitely a scam. Do not respond to their calls.

Just received a call from this number. After several seconds of silence (while the tape rewound!?), a female voice came on inviting me to press 1 to learn about about reducing my credit card rates. I had some time to kill so I intended to waste theirs. I put them on speaker and prepared to play along. Unfortunately, the connection was so bad that the misled individual at the other end hung up. Disappointing!

Calls that have no one on the other end are typically computer dialed. When you answer, the computer records the day/time when you were home. It provides the telemarketer information on when you are more likely to be home when a "real" person calls you at a later date. Computer wages are much cheaper than person wages.

This number called and hung up as soon as I answered. 604 seems to be an area code in BC, and there used to be another number from BC (area code 250) was found to be a credit card related scam.

I get lots of calls from this "lady" who starts with "this is an important message ..." I hung up. This one was from this BC area code (my cousins area) so I picked up. I wonder how long it takes for the DNCL to kick in.
Lorraine 2013-04-12 22:43:36 Unknown
I just had the same scam and was told "f*ck you" when I requested to be removed from list.

Did you get a call from 604 -269-2551?
Called me a random call. This number showed up on my call display saying it was a final notice to reduce my credit card interest. I pressed 1 to see who they were representing. A guy came on...asking me what my balance was. First I asked him which credit card he was representing. He asked me again about my visa. I told him I have no balance...then he asked me about master card. I don't have one. I told the guy I stayed on to find out what card he represented and he promptly hung up! Anyone else get a call like this? I tried to call the number back and it came up not in service.
PJ 2013-04-10 00:58:20 Unknown
Annoying to get calls during suppertime from "nobody", just dead air.
I am also on the no call list. Called the number, after using *67 to block my #
and got Telus Mobility voice msg saying 6042986451 is not available and then
that their mailbox is full. From the other comments that is a lot of different b.s.
coming from this cell phone!
So report this to Telus Mobility.
