How do I get them to stop calling?

they keep calling and I don't want them to call anymore

Called my business number  and asked to speak to Mr. ******, which is my dad.

Said she's from a collection agency called ARO and that my dad has a debt that needs to be paid.
I asked for details and she refused to give them to me unless I send in a fax with his permission and signature on it.
I told her good luck getting that, because my dad doesn't speak or write English, let alone order anything without asking us. She said "well I still need his permission and signature before I can do anything".
So I told her to give me the fax number and to wait for it.

Most likely a scam and is now on my block list.

Been getting this number on my call display last couple days so seached and read posts here. Finally answered the call tonight. Could barely understand the lady. I asked for their website adress because all legit charities have website and she hung up on me.

They are scam, do not respond to them

They called our business many time asking for exchange in services, so we give them free services and they put an add in the lawyers magazine that is worth more than the service we will give them ( just to make it so attractive) i searched to find they are scam, DO NOT RESPOND TO " BC Pub Sectors" or phone # 604-482-3100 THEY ARE SCAM.

Scam, pretending to advertise in a magazine for a great deal

Caller transferred me to another man who said they were publishing a magazine that would contain articles about illnesses that affect Canadian veterans. It would be distribute to all hospitals and doctors. He wanted to mail me info so I could support this. What a crock! SCAM!

I'm sick of getting calls from 604-482-3100. I wish these people would leave us alone. What's the point of a NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST.  I update my number on a regular basis and still getting crazy amounts of calls from telemarketers.  WTF.......

They are now calling for pledges to child find / identification be aware

They called me tonight even though I'm on the National Do Not Call list.  After going online and finding out that it's a non-registered company / telemarketer, I reported them to the CRTC.  If they keep calling they're going to get a demonstration of "Hockey School For Referees - Whistle Blowing techniques".

I just got a call from this company as well. A woman called and asked to talk to (last name). I said that they weren't in right now, she asked when she could call back. I asked who was calling, and she said her name was Alisha, and when she could call back. I asked for the name of the company, and she repeated that her name was Alisha and asked when she could call back. I said, "Ummm...next week?" and she responded with "Next week...okay." and then hung up. It was really weird and I hope I answer the phone the next time she call back, knowing what I now know.

Repeated calls from lady speaking very very poor English. Could not understand her.

They call 2 3 times a day .

Received a call from this number today. It shows up at "BC Pub Sectors" on caller display. I normally don't answer calls with different area codes but as this was showed up with an actual name I figured why the heck not? When I answered a lady asked if "last name" was there. I asked her to repeat herself and she simply asked once again for someone in the household by our last name. Not "Mr. Lastname" or "Mrs. Lastname". Just simply: "Is "Lastname" there?" And she continued on to explain what she was calling for. I could not understand a word. She spoke too quickly and with an accent too thick for me to understand. Eventually I was put on hold with some interesting classical music. Having no idea what it was about I hung up. Reading these comments I'm glad I didn't stay on the line.

I keep getting these unwanted calls from various different numbers.  I work Midnight's so I am often woken up by annoying calls during the day.  

Bogus charity calling other provinces .....not tax reciept or offical charity number.....number is now blocked on all of our phones cell and land line!

Received 2 calls from "BC Pub Sectors" a.k.a. 1-604-482-3100 today.  Lady with thick accent stated that she had a message for "Mr. _____".  I asked what the message was in regards to.  "Children's Safety books".  No thank you, please remove us from your list.

Just received a bill from these scammers requesting payment for a "directory listing" I've never even heard of. Did some research on them and as it turns out they are based here in Vancouver. I've seen the building and it's a hole in the wall that almost looks like it used to be a house. NO ONE has never heard of them at the local medical services offices or has even seen this "magazine".
Using the "poor sick kids" sob story to take money from people. All I did was a bit of research and discovered they're all over the place going by different names when people catch on.
Those women calling should be ashamed.

For a few years now I have been called by this charity. I have donated twice and the last time I got an invoice/receipt that stated in fine print that it was not a registered charity so there'd be no tax receipt or something like that. I was called in December and told that now they'd only be calling every two years...would I like to increase my donation to, presumably, cover the two years? They suggested an amount that was about 4 times more than I was willing to donate (can't remember the exact amount). I said I couldn't afford what they suggested. The woman hesitated but said whatever I could donate would be fine. I got the invoice/donation sheet in the mail that had the amount of $175 or something like that in the "please pay" box. I was so annoyed I didn't send any donation. I've been receiving calls every single day for weeks that never leave a message. I would like to know whether this is a legitimate charity.

Reading the previous messages, I now realized that I have been a ''fool'' (for 3 years)  believing the caller wanted money for CHILDREN'S BOOKS. I had been asking for receipts to no avail !!!! My husband took the call today asking who was calling and could he take a message. Their comment: '' Will call another time " Fortunately I have a call display and decided to check the number to find these comments.  Waiting  for the next caller.  Thank You.

I got three minutes of classical piano (before the voice mail cut it off, I think).

I just received three minutes of classical piano.  I suspect three minutes is the maximum voice mail message...

For several years I've given $ to this charity that uses the donations to purchase books for sick/injured...
(hospitalized??) children; but I'm not so sure it's as 'legit' as I'd like to think. A word of warning to those of you who don't want to commit to their 'cause' for the long term; they'll call you every year for as long as you use the phone number at which they reach you. I hope that I'm wrong, and that kids DO benefit from this because
I've been giving ~ $45 per year for close to ten years.

This # keeps calling even though i told them on the 1st call that i was not interested. i just pick up the receiver and put it down. they don't get the hint. i am on the do not call list also.

This number left a 3 min message that all you hear is the clicking of a keyboard in the back ground.
