I didn't have my phone on me, but I got a voicemall from Chris. I listened to it, wrote the info down and then instantly went online to google the number because he didn't say which business he was with which most employers do. I'm glad I did because I really don't want to get into a pyramid scam.

His name is Chris Lesh working with Primerica Canada. He calls from 604-525-7023, but leaves a call back # of 604-710-7149. It's a good company. I used to work with him actually.  Nice guy.  However, be forewarned that he calls A LOT of people. His role is to find quality people for the expansion of the Primerica offices. It won't matter how nice or descent a person he his or the company is, since it's inevitable that he's going to run into people who are overly skeptical or irritated by the smallest things when he's going through numbers that massive!

I wonder if the information on the internet is monitored:

And these big companies may have pretty good filters!

Well, that research took a total of 10 minutes and for some reason I'm still not adverse to doing business or working with any one of them.

Thanks for the heads up all,  I also got a call from him - but he didn't mention who he worked for, and also clearly didn't have a clue about my resume. Thank goodness for Google.

What a jerk. :(

He just called our office phone, but the person he was looking for is out. Then he asked several times for my name - obviously trying to get an "in" so he could say in a future call, "Well, so-and-so said I should talk to you" or something of that sort. Slimy! Thanks for posting so these kind of guys can be busted!

Yup.  I got the same call.  I know exactly what's going on.  I'm a client of Primerica.  It's a GOOD company. They've done a lot more for my financial situation than any bank would ever do!  I was introduced to the part-time opportunity a while back.  I don't agree with the way they hire people though.  It's self employment so they have the choice of finding people through word of mouth, getting referrals by talking to friends and family and putting the word out that way, advertising, calling resumes, talking to strangers (like Investors Group), knocking on doors (like Edward Jones), cold calling, and/or...  They can take their pick.  In this case, our friend(?) has chosen cold calling as his modus operandi.  Not breaking any rules.  It's just not something that I approve of.

Thank you so much guys. I received this phone call from Chris. He asked whether I'm happy with what I'm doing now and if I'm interested in coming down to their newly opened office to have a quick tour. I never called him but he said he talked to me before and was quite impressed by my reaction to customers. I never know it could be a scam.

Thank you for the heads up!!!
