They just called and hung up.

Called me a million times. They wanted to "update" my personal information from UBC - Faculty of Education. I said I would confirm with them firt and they hanged up.

Annoying people calling for money. No thanks, I'm already paying 50k+ for my education and need not donate money no more. It's not that good of a degree either...so thanks but not thanks. I just answer and say if this is about donation, let's save time cause I'm not gonna donate anything.

They've called me a couple times, asking for money for undergrad scholarships and for the Beatty Biodiversity Museum...  Does anyone know if this is actually legit? And just really annoying, considering they're calling recent grads who have NO MONEY because we can't do anything with our bachelor's and some of us are now starving grad students.  Or is this a complete scam?

They knew the department I graduated from and my address, but that wouldn't be too hard to find out.  The Biodiversity Museum story is pretty fancy though, if it's fake.  I have heard about them moving the whale before.  But credit card numbers over the phone?  I don't know... I emailed UBC Alumni asking (but, hey, it's UBC...who knows how long it'll take for them to reply).

Is that what it's about? They kept calling my house at night (when I'm at the lab) and according to my brother, wouldn't leave a name or even a message! If it's the alumni calling for contributions, it's rather funny because even though I've graduated from undergrad, I'm still a student at UBC. Shouldn't I be saving the money for my own tuition? *LOL*

Called me yesterday, didn't leave a message. I'll be sure to give them a fax tone next time they call!

Thanks to UBCs magnificent education and career system, I do not have a job that provides enough income to donate to unworthy causes such as UBC. They keep calling. Annoying. I already paid thousands of dollars of tuition. What else do they need now?

Have had this before, though. They'll talk to you for bloody ever.
Then eventually they get around to asking for money.
As if I'm not still paying back the thousands of dollars I gave them when I was a student!
Don't know why they bother calling alumni who only graduated last year!

UBC Alumni called asking for money.  I live in the US at the moment, and they somehow found my home number and called.  I told them to call back, and then began avoiding their calls.  They stopped for several months, until I received an email saying that they would be calling again soon.  This time they managed to find my mobile phone number.  Luckily I recognized their number, and didn't have to listen to some student complaining that he or she didn't get good enough grades to get a scholarship, and that donations would make for more opportunity for him or her to get free money.

Keeps calling me and not leaving msgs so I finally called it and there was a recording that says it's a UBC number that can't be reached from outside the university - even though I was calling from an on campus land line.
