Now it's just a http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/cps/4237172771.html so we have Canada, Microsoft, virus protection, call centers, debt collectors preying on the elderly, vulnerable, and uninformed. Deceptive and unfair business practices.

The short answer is yes. Never let anyone have remote access to your computer. Microsoft would never call you about problems with your computer. If I were you I would take my computer to a computer shop and let them clean it up to make sure that the person who got access to your computer did not put a virus on it that pull info off of it.

Got the same call from guy with thick Indian accent.  Said he was calling from Canadian Internet Server Management from Vancouver and that my computer was leaking information. When I wouldn't follow his advice to log on he told me to take computer to Microsoft Expert to have a keylog trojan virus removed and it would take about 2 hours at $80 per hour.  He had me Go to right click on Computer, , double click computer management , then windows log, then applications.  He pointed out the error messages that are there and said these indicated leaks of information.  He didnt try to sell me anything.  Would this have given him any opportunity to plant something into my computer?? Does any one know?

Just received a call from this fellow with a thick Indian accent.  You could tell from the delay that he was using some VOIP service.  Like many of the other posts, he indicated he was calling from an Internet Management Company to warn me that my computer was "infected" with a Trojan Virus.  A little background here... I fix computers for a living and am very familiar with this scam.  I asked the fellow what city he was calling from and he repeated the script saying he was calling from an Internet Management Company.  So this scam goes like this: The fellow tells the unsuspecting target that his/her computer is infected, asks you to access a site so that they can "help you fix your computer".  What happens is that as soon as you access the site, unless you have adequate security installed and the smarts, this is when they install a back door access to your computer.  Whatever you do, do NOT follow their instructions.  It's a HUGE scam!

Got the same call today and told them my husband was a RCMP officer and I would have him look into him. They told to me to make sure to get it fixed and they were glad they were able to make us aware of the problem and hung up.  What a bunch of LOSERS!!!

i got a call too from him today, and he said he wanted to speak to the person who controls the computer... i said, I was 89 yrs old and didnt even own a computer, let alone turn one on.

he politely apologized and said...  thank you ma'am.

I got a call from this number (604-882-3328) and a "rep" with thick Indian accent identified himself as "Ron" from Internet Server Management of Canada.  The purpose of his "warning" call is because my computer is leaking personal information and sending out junk files to the internet and this resulting in the "whole" internet being slowed down???  It has caught their attention as they work for Google, Firefox, Bell ect. to oversee traffic for all those company mentioned.
After some questions that I post to him and he couldn't answer, he asked me to hold so that he can put his supervisor on.  His 'supposed' supervisor got on and again recites all things "ron" said.  I wanted to see how their scam work so I stayed on the line and humor the guy.  He claimed in order for me to rid the virus in my computer, I need to log on his server at www.365.tk?  This is when I told him he's a CON and I will not do such thing.  He got mad and said he will shut my computer down if I fail to follow through.  I hang up and within seconds, he call back and more threats; this is when I said never to call me again or I will get authority involved... the phone is now silenced.  BEWARE!

LOL - they just called here and we put them on hold for 10 minutes while we pretended to check the computer for "leaking personal information".  We finally got back to them and asked them to confirm our IP address and they hung up.  What morons, LOL!  It was a long distance call for them, so we cost them a few cents, anyways.

The caller of 1-604-882-3328 claims he is Shawn Rosario and works for the government office called ISMC which stands for Information System Manager of Canada with tel no. 1-888-654-5532. I Google both and showed that there is no Information System Manager of Canada and the 1-888 number shown do not exist. So block these two numbers as it might give you problems.Shawn claims that my computer is leaking information. Read all the above and BEWARE of calls like this.

This number 1-604-882-3328 has been calling me and I keep ignoring it. Today I answer the call and the Indian accent tells me that he is from Information System Manager of Canada and that my computer is leaking information. When I told him I am not very in computer and so I will have my children call him, He said it is alright. He introduce himself as Shawn Rosario which probably a pseudonym. BEWARE of this number 1-604-882-3328. He also said he works for ISMC. I wish the authorities could stop people like him.

Just got the same call like the rest of you saying there was something wrong with my computer. I told him to remove my name from there list and that I don't have a computer. The idiot still stayed on the phone like he didn't understand me. I wish the government or phone companies could put a stop to all this BS!!!! I am sick of answering my phone.

Got a call from this number and answered as I know people in BC.  Same message and when I refused to take the bait and hung-up, he kept calling back!  Probably called about 6 times and I just kept hanging up!  What an @#$^%$^!!

Just got this call from a man with a thick Indian accent telling me my computer is leaking important information to their mainframe computer.  I ask who is calling and he spews off the names of various providers.  I ask what I could do about this and he says he can fix it for me, just turn on my computer. This guy was an idiot and I think he  would have trouble conning too many people.  But I have had calls in the past that sound legit.  Just hang up and do not give anyone remote access to your computer unless you initiated the call.  If you do it will end up costing you to fix your computer and you may also be a victim of identity fraud or bank fraud.

Mark Jonwazwil (with an east indian accent) called, and was very agitated when I questioned the legitimacy of his company, Internet Server Management of Canada. He hesitated to answer most questions, and the pronunciation of his last name did not match the way he spelled it. I was very suspicious, and after researching for 5 min, am convinced it's a scam.

Someone with a heavy accent called our house from this number about computer sending out personal info.  We have had dozens of different numbers calling with this scam.  Hang up!

This number just called my house saying they were some Internet Monitoring company. They informed me my computer was sending out personal information, and I was receiving "Warning" messages.
SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! They want to remotely access your computer. DO NOT LISTEN, DO NOT GIVE ACCESS!! HANG UP!!
