I have a different opinion on these guys - I promise I do not work for them & I get several calls a month from people I want to shoot.   These are not one.  They do call when the payment begins to run 40-45 days late.  I have only gotten a couple calls a week.  I have had messages identifying name & company each time.  They have been courteous & helpful each time & have made decent arrangements with me when we have needed.  The call times have not been out of line.  I wish the other idiots could be like these guys.  Whoever is getting bad calls, I wonder if you all have a different account manager than I do?  This isn't a waste of time or collection company - this is a legitimate Company (First Premier Card) trying to make arrangements for money that is owed to them.  Please don;t lump them in with the other scuzzy buy the debt for pennies on the dollar, call 3-4 times day at all hours & never leave a message company.

The solution is to make debt collection an UNprofitable business.  WASTE their time, just like they waste yours.

Hello is this Fred?  Who's calling please?  I'm calling from X company.  Is this Fred?  What is your name please?  Is this Fred?  What is your name please?  My name is Julie.  What is your last name please?  Is th is Fred?  What is your last name please?  Fred, you owe us money... blah blah blah.  What is your last name please?  Smith.  Can you spell it?  When are you going to pay us Fred?  Please hold.  <put phone down, or on hold if you have a hold button>  Go do something.  Come back in 5 or 10 minutes and see if they're still waiting.  They won't be.  Repeat as necessary.  They will lose interest in you.  Do not get upset, or excited.  Remain calm.  Put them on hold whenever you like.  Do not answer ANY of their questions.  Do not admit to being you.  Simply answer their questions with a question, or put them on hold.  They will tire of you and go away.

I totally agree with you. What i love about it: I am sending them their money and they are still calling. I love the fact that I will get a call at 11:30 at night and if I ignore it, they call right back. Like I have nothing better to do but talk to bill collectors in the middle of the night when I have to get up early to go to work.

These people are HORRIBLE! My husband and I had a credit card with this company. Things happened - I lost my job and we got behind on payments.  We are not deadbeats by any means. We have a small child at home and a lot of responsibilities, and sometimes things get pushed to the back burner - i.e., bills for this credit card.

I answered my cellphone today and they asked for my husband.  I told them he was unavailable, which he was.  The woman then asked if I was his wife and she said my name, and I told her, yes, I am. She then said where she was calling from (but did not give me her name) and said she would like to discuss payment arrangements.  I told her, fine, but at this moment, I'm in a supermarket with my child, and I have nothing in front of me (account info, what I have in my bank, etc.), plus I need to discuss this with my husband, and if I could get their number, I'll call them back.

So the woman said, okay, I'll give you the number, but first let's discuss payment arrangements. I told her, Okay, but again, I'm not home at the moment, I'm in the middle of something, and I'd like to talk this over with my husband first.  I was very nice at this point. The woman replied, Well, first tell me what you can pay.  I told her, I'm not sure of that yet.  If you please give me your number, I'll call you back after I talk this over with my husband.

This went on and on for over 5 minutes.  At one point the woman said, We can take payments for as low as $5.  I told her, I still have to discuss this with my husband.  She said to me disbelievingly, You have to discuss $5 with your husband? I told her, Yes, I do, considering it's his money we'll be paying with. I need to talk this over with him and like I told you, I am not home at the moment, etc.  I repeated what I'd already told her.

She then said to me in a nasty tone, You HAVE to discuss a payment arrangement with me.  I then asked her what her name was, and she refused to give it to me. Her voice continued to grow louder and louder and she became more rude as the conversation went on.  At that point I hung up on her and she hasn't called back.

any collection agency contacting consumers is an un-legal practice this is the law seriously the unfair debt practices by these llc business's look up what LLC stands for then you will understand its very illegal with what they are doing....check into this as your rights as a consumer this is the very truth...

if anyone receives a call from a debt agency they  are breaking the law simply because the debt that is owed has already been paid off especially credit card debt every financial institute that issues out credit cards is who you signed a legal binding contract with not the collection agency's that constantly calls  247...

the credit card companies want everyone to default then they are paid 3x what is owed with the balance on everyone's credit card in other words visa, mc, discover, amex & on & on they already got paid on the debts the federal reserve already paid them off! know your own rights regarding any & every debt collection unless they have a signed document with your name on it in agreement with the debt collection agency they are breaking the law with all the harassing calls this is the very truth...

i have an attorney that only deals with these types of matters my credit is now on its way back up :-) good luck to all know your legal rights take control...peace to everyone struggling..

I agree that the banks need to lay off the American people once and for all!  Besides it is their greed that has put this country into so much debt.  Speaking of debt.  This is a=exactly what the big banks are betting on that more people get into debt so they can sell off theses bullsh** loans to foreign entities and bank even more money.  I say charge away and tell these collectors that since you have already reported the past late payment to the credit Bureaus, what does it matter if you never pay them.  Not willing to work with you, give them the American finger and move on!!!

They may have changed the laws since you were a debt collector. They only have to stop if you give them a typed and signed cease and desist letter, the only state that honors a vocal cease and desist is Wisconsin, but that applies to residents in Wisconsin, not credit card companies etc. calling from there.

Becky from "Premier" on voice mail - yes, I owe them money, I have told them that I am unemployed and can't pay them, I have told them to cease and desist, I have told them that I will pay them when I can. I use to be a debt collector and I know for a fact that once you tell them to cease and desist you can sue for harrassment if the calls and letters do not stop, in addition to that you have to write a letter to them to confirm your statement. There is no need to be rude to the consumer and the fact that some of the calls come from an unknown # proves it is them most of the time, because they can call several times a day, but can only leave one voice msg. I can honestly say that I feel bad for not being able to pay my bill like I once was able to... but I refuse to be treated like scum when I have no control over the issue!

I admit I'm a month behind, but I don't think that gives them the right to call me at 6:00 AM, PST, which I believe is against the law.  Numerous calls throughout the day.  Really; if I had the $ I'd send it.  This is the first time I've ever been late on a card with a $300 limit, but if it's food on the table or them, right now I'm opting for food on the table.  They'll get paid, and they'll get paid sooner if they quit harassing me, which I believe a call at 6:00 in the morning borders on.  Opinions?

First Premier Bank calling for a person of Hispanic descent that does not live at my address and whom I've never heard of.  But, apparently, the Premier Bank representative needs to speak to this person *very badly*; sounds like she's about to wet herself from anxiety... I'd call her back to tell her to stop calling, but frankly she sounds a bit like a crazy stalker. I'm scared, and hiding in my closet, right now.

Please, crazy stalker-lady from 1st Premier Bank, go to the bathroom and relieve yourself, check your phone book for accuracy, and then take a handful of Xanax to ameliorate your panic attacks before dialing a client.
