I live in Canada and we have a whole force of police called the RCMP, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, because they used to ride horses..and some still do. Anyway, I came up with a new expansion of the acronym RCMP

Speaking of cops. Perhaps it's just my experience with corrupt police in NW Florida. Perhaps, it's hanging out in reddit's 'bad cop no donut' too long. But, I wouldn't give police/sheriff's in this country a dime. I'm terrified when I'm pulled over. If I say hello to a cop to ask them a question, they act like they are going to shoot you. No thank you.
As a sidenote. People give Feds and the DHS in airports a lot of crap - but to be honest, all of the ones I've met have been much more nice and professional than local LEA. (PS I should mention that State Police - at lease some of them are quite professional here. Just held to different standards).

May even be a spoofed call. Regardless I never answer unknown numbers or out of area. That's what my answering machine is for. JUST DON"T ANSWER! That puts them out of business. Report the call and number to the Attorney Generals office.

Keep getting this no voice call. Just a hang up. This seems it part of the SD peace officers association which is a scam. Will be reporting it to the AG's office.

Called many times, left no messages. Finally answered tonight, said he was soliciting for the South Dakota Peace Officer Association. You could hear lots of other operators in the background noise, the sales pitch was polished and pushy, definitely a professional telemarketer operation and not a volunteer.
I hung up pretty quick.
IF this is legit, the SDPOA should really have some polite volunteers do the calling and not jerk telemarketers.
