Just FYI
I actually worked through these people once.
My paychecks were forever getting lost.
They basically collect the billing and then dont pay you

Add me to the list from above.

This number was used by 'Artec' to advise me of a position for a company that I am already indirectly working for, and thereby could not actually accept the position. But they assured me they woudl add me to their records.

This is the fourth time, same exact job description, from 4 different contracting agencies, that I have been contacted and 'added to their records'.
As this point, I am going to call this a scam.

On a side note, which may or may not be related, each of these calls came from someone with a very thick Indian accent.

973-967-3496 is another number they use.  Artech actually *IS* a legitimate company; but as someone else mentioned previously, they're kind of a bottom-feeder I/T recruiting company.  They make money by negotiating contracts with big companies to get full hourly rates from the employer, and then Artech takes 40% to 50% off the top for themselves before they give the contractee the rest.  I know this because I've been offered contracts doing EXACTLY what I was doing for one of those big companies in the same department, but Artech's salary offer was barely more than half of what I was making by working for another contracting company.

The same as spoken before, a heavy Indian accent, not able to come close to the pay rate I was looking for.  Get this one at the end of the conversation she asked me for my birthday, I said did you just ask me for my birthday?  She said yes, I said what does that have to do with this position?  She said I just need your birthday, I said that's against the law, she said I don't understand.  I said you're breaking the law, she started to laugh, I said this is not a laughing matter,  I need to speak with your boss.  She said ok I'll connect you to that extension, well she hung up.  A bit later I called back and someone answered but then they put me to voice mail.
I'm soo mad, how can these companies get away with this?!  I looked up the corporate number and called it and of course no one is there.  I will be sure I call back on Monday and make a complaint!

They are still at it! I received 3 calls from them within 20 min this morning. As a rule of thumb I don't answer calls from #'s I don't recognize, I just Google the # after and usually find info similar to this site.

Have received many calls from Artech in the past.  Sometimes I get an unintelligible voicemail other times not.   In any case they have never merited a callback.   The jobs were never what my resume was geared for.

I received 1973-967-3581 a messaged (Couldn't figure out name) Heavy Indian accent regarding a position from Artic Information Systems.
Here the thing,  the Government can control everything else in our lives - Insurance, taxes, savings etc   Why can they stop these harassing calls! - Companies are bringing back jobs so international call centers  have nothing better to do but harass the honest working class - We don't have time for this non-sense especially us taking contract jobs without benefits, due to company non-commits.  Love this technology!!! - can find anyone's information anywhere.  but we need to only receive real offers  Stop wasting our time

I have been receiving calls and emails from this company that they have literally become a nuisance. I have been working for the past few years as a consultant and I'm use to being bombarded with calls and emails regarding new opportunities. So you have to learn to decipher as to which company is legit. Artech apparently just screens your resume for key words. I do not have a background in IT so I will just ignore them.

I received a call from Paul with Artech Information Systems regarding a Project Coordinator position for Google.  Like everyone else said, he had a very thick Indian accent.  Unfortunately, with most of these companies, they assume you have IT experience, so I tend to screen out these calls.

Yeah, I assume they got my number from a resume I posted at monster.com  ... I've had a lot of legitimate contract agents contact me from that (up to today I was in an active job search).  Not saying these guys are legit or not, but I know they got my number from a legitimate source like that.   Most legitimate agents with legitimate jobs will contact you both by phone and via email and this company did the same.

Bottom feeding placement firm.

Bottom feeding contract houses will put your resume out to virtually every client, with or without your permission, and regardless of rate.  They are ethically challenged and do not have account executives who have working business relationships with the hiring managers.

On the rare occasions where you see a higher rate, it is because it is an all encompassing rate that includes your insurance, travel, and housing costs, which most contractors tend to underestimate or underquote.

Got a call just now from Artech -- 973-967-3599

They were talking about a contract job -- which is fine, and asked what I was making and what I was looking to make.  Weirdly enough -- they came up with a larger number.  Believe me, in my field, in my area -- that would NEVER happen.  It's like you say "I'm selling my car for $7k" and the first person walks up and gives you $9k.  Nope.

The worst part?  They needed my SSN.  That's right.  I said "nope" about 23 times before I finally hung up.  Sounds scamalicious to me, friends.

Got a call from them today.  Should have known something wasn't right about this recruiter, since the lady I spoke with has a heavy Indian accent.  She had me sign a consent form and submit an updated resume, which I did.  Then out of curiosity, I did some research on this recruiter, and found this web site when I typed in the phone number on google search.  What should I do?  I already sent her back the signed consent form, and submitted my resume.  I have since blocked her email and phone number, but any other help would be appreciated.

Just got the same call from a slightly different number.  The accent was so strong that I could not make out most of what he was saying so I just said "no thank you" and hung up.  A couple Google searches later, I found this site that confirmed what I suspected.

Two years later, they're still out there doing the same thing: calling us Californians from New Jersey; insisting that the consent form get signed and returned within an hour; expecting me to agree that the job description they just provided is OK although I cannot understand what was just said.

These calls give me flashbacks to The Sopranos (RIP James Gandolfino) and the scene where phone cards were being sold on the black market.

Lastly, a big red flag today: she said she needed an updated resume because the one she has was last updated on monster.com in January 2012. I updated my resume this year.

First of all I cannot verify for this company. But a "CONTRACT" position is a REAL JOB. Have you ever heard of the word Consultant? I have worked at contract jobs for 3 years with similar companies. I have traveled for 2 years, and have been working from home for 1 year.

I make double the money on what you would call not a real job. ??? lol...

For anyone else, look up this company's history unlike the person who wrote this. There are some legitimate companies who do contract/consultant work.

The 10/14/2011 post from "Sickofit" sums it up and was very helpful, as was teh post dated 11/16/2011.  I newly publicly posted my resume for the first time ever; on a site called CareerBuilder.com.  I promptly received calls both yesterday and today from women at this number, as well as at 973-967-3403 which apparently is another line out of their office; speaking rapidly in Indian or Pakistani accents so thick I could not fully understand them.  I let the voicemail take the calls both times.  Their numbers are from a New Jersey area code, which is a red flag as I'm nowhere near New Jersey.

The lesson here is that I am going to remove my personal, private cellphone number from the resume as posted on CareerBuilder.  Any communications will have to be, at least at first, via email.

Thank you for posting your complaint.  This is EXACTLY the same call that I just got this morning!  Same thick Indian accent and very impossible to understand.  She claimed that she was calling for a job with KAISER IN STOCKTON, CA.  Very persistant about getting my information sent to them ASAP.  Since this morning 2 hours ago.  I've had a total of 3 calls from the same company.

Without this complaint, I would have probably agains my own good judgement would have sent my info.  Dropping this activity "NO TIME FOR SCAMS"!!!!!

ok everyone...this number, along with extension number 3448 are from Artech Info - a recruiting company. The callers have extremely think Indian accents so it's almost impossible to understand them.

They are targeting job seekers who have posted resumes online. They, along with at least 5 other recruiters in the past week have called me about the same position being open at Kaiser here in California.

They are trying to drum up year-end business by getting people signed up on their rosters and getting their references to use as business leads.  They are really not interested in finding anyone a job.  it's a bait and switch tactic.  Oh and they never mention that it's a contract position as opposed to a real job.  I found that out after doing an internet search on the first one to contact me.

If you want to work for Kaiser - go to their website and apply directly.
