Called me and said that they were with the company that handles Windstreams Phone service and said that they want to lower my costs. I said why didn'y Windstream call me then? He said they are a big company and Yada- yada- yada. Then he says why am I giving him such a hard time? I said because tou are obviosly another company trying to scam the phone service away from Windstream and you are soliciting me and I am on the National No- call list (for what good it does) and he says "fine, I can just leave you on the higher priced plan and you won't get the savings." I said you just do what ever you feel is the right thing to do, and then I hung up! What a Pain in my #$@! They are always calling misrepresenting who they are, isn't there any law against this sort of scam?

I got the same thing stating they were from AT&T.  We also have a contract with AT&T and I informed her that we do not accept calls, contracts etc from "vendors" misrepresenting they are AT&T. BEWARE; the first sign it is a SCAM is NAME NOT FOUND on your caller ID. She hung up on me when I asked the name of the company she was calling from and I intend to infrom AT&T.

Lady called my business today saying she was with "Account Services" and asked for the person in charge of our phones here in Utah. I asked her which phone company, she stated "CenturyLink".  Told her all phone changes are handled through corporate in OH.  She hung up on me.

WORD OF WARNING .... do not say the word "YES" to these people at all, they will manipulate their recordings to make it sound like you agreed to switch to their service.   Use the following when answering questions from these scumbags:  YOU ARE CORRECT, YOU ARE RIGHT

My mom got sucked in by these people because she is elderly and on a limited income, she didn't know better, they switched her without actual permission and it ended up costing her over $200 a month for her phone/long distance.

REC'D A CALL FROM 605-519-6765, THEY SAID THEY WERE WITH ATT & WANTED TO HELP ME LOWER MY RATE WITH THE NEW RATES THAT ARE COMING OUT.  I ASKED DO YOU WORK DIRECTLY FOR ATT, SHE ONLY REPLIED I WORK IN NOTIFICATIONS.  NOT A CLEAR ANSWER, SHE SAYS SHE IF FOLLOWING UP OVER THE RATE INCREASE NOTIFICATION WE REC'D LAST MONTH. I SAID I NEVER REC'D ONE CAN YOU FAX ME IT.  SHE SAID YES AND ACTUALLY TOOK MY FAX NUMBER.  BUT AS I EXPECTED I HAVE NOT REC'D THE FAX.

Just got a call from these dirtbags.  She said she was with Centruy Link and was to inform me of a rate change occuring next month and that she could help me with long distance rates... I smelled a scam and just hung up.  After reading these other posts. I will contact the FCC and others when I have time. Grrrrrrrr.  So much for being on the do not call list...

Got this call this morning, similar to many I've gotten in the past from companies like this pretending to be AT&T.  I told her immediately I was not interested and to not call us back.  Wow, this made her irate.  She has called us over 20 times in the last half hour!  How do these companies make money if they seem to spend their day harassing the same people over and over?  Wish there was a way to put a stop to scammers like this.

Woman calls and represents she's with Century Link and that Century Link has recently lost 40%  of it business back to the wholesaler, bla. bla bla.  Stating that they have decided to reduce our line charges, if we are interested.  She lied.  She's not with Century Link.  She is a fraud and with a fast line so be careful or you'll be Slammed! -  Shame, Shame, Shame!

I thought this type of stuff was illegal.  Oh that's right, it is!  Where's the inforcement, since it looks like it's been going on for some time now.

I requested that she send me some information through the mail, since I was too busy to chat with her.  So we'll see if she's ok with mail fraud, also.

A lady called our business from this number today. She stated that she was calling about the rate changes on our long distance with AT&T. I googled the number to see who she actually represented. I am in the process of reporting this to AT&T, well I am waiting on a call back as all their representatives are assisting other callers :-)

I just received a call from these folks as I have many times in the past.  They always claim to be with our phone company or affliliated with it in some way.  I simply tell them that we are currently in the process of renewing our contract with CenturyLink and that I prefer to work directly with our account rep.  They're very persistent saying that they want to make sure our account rep is offering the most current rates/discounts, but I end up just saying thank you for calling, but I'll stick with our account rep.  I don't hear from them for about a month, but they keep calling.  I don't know if I've asked them not to call, but I kind of have fun with these scammers.  They're not fooling me and it's kind of funny to see how they respond to questions that I ask them in return.  Like, why don't they know my name if they're truly with CenturyLink?  Why don't they have any information on our account if they're truly with CenturyLink?  I just think it's kind of a fun game.  I get so many of these calls every day.  Most are hang up calls, but I try to have fun with the ones that actually have a live person I can mess with.  Instead of getting mad, if you have time, just mess with these people's heads - it's fun!

You have your facts mistaken. John Kerry was not born in South Dakota, he was born in Colorado.  Get your facts straight before you rip on an entire state.  You can also bet that there is a good chance the number is not even in the US as you can make a caller ID and phone number say whatever you want with the right technology.

I got the same thing stating they were from AT&T.  We are a company and have a contract so I knew when they called that it was a scam because we have the lowest rates possible for a business line.  Everyone BEWARE of these people.

Called up claiming to be our long distance account representative. Lying bait and switch phone company scammer. When I told him to take me off the list, he hung up on me, then repeatedly called back and hung up.

They are calling southern Illinois now 2-13-12......first the guy said he was from at&t, but when scutinized, he backtracked and said he repped another long distance company.....and when pressured to reveal THAT company he finally said he DIDNT REPRESENT ANY COMPANY!

He was just a "call center" that was letting people know of an upcoming "rate increase" for at&t customers. At that point, he went into a sales pitch, and I said "what are you selling" he says, "Im not selling anything.....but I am sure you wouldnt mind saving a few dollars.... this call is just to let you know about a future rate increase"

So, I said, "fine, I am aprised" and hung up. Total scammers. REPORT!

I got a phone call from this number today. claiming to be AT&T subcontractor, I told her need a chines translate. and her hand stop the phone.

Lady was rude.  Said she was with AT&T yet caller ID says AT&T when they actually call.  Said I was going to get a rate change even though I was under contract.  So I hung up and called the real AT&T and found out NO I'm not actually having a rate change.  So then I went to donotcall.gov and reported these idiots for the vilolation and being liars by claiming they were AT&T.  I suggest you also report them at www.donotcall.gov If they get reported enough time they won't call back or anyone for that matter.

Just got a phone call from them, claiming to be AT&T subcontractor, asked about all our phone numbers. If they really were a part of AT&T, even a subcontractor, then they would already HAVE this information. I don't trust them at allllll.

They are calling Missouri now as of 12-29-11  say they are with ATT    Told them had to lowest rate now.  Oh no you do not.  Oh yes we do.   Asked for their ATT employee ID number she hung up on me good riddens.

Century Link calls our business almost daily even though I went through all the steps with them to stop these calls.  They should have stopped in November.  Now it's the first part of December and it continues to happen.

this number just called me and said my rate was going to be reduced because of some law passed in illinois. They asked if i was happy with my service I said yes, and they asked if I had DSL,  I said yes then she said thank you and hung up.. weird

Just got a call from this number.  They claimed to be from AT&T and wanted to go over the new long distance price reduction.  I told her we just renewed our AT&T account last week and she said this is different.  I told her it was the same account and we were already updated but she kept asking to speak to the person in charge of the phone account.  Finally told her the HR manager was out and she said she'd call back.

I too got a call from them.   I guess the person above is right, that they are re-directing the number, I hate scam outfits like this.   I hope they burn in hell.

Dude calls up and on the caller ID it says 605-519-6765.  So I answer with the name of the company and he says he wants to speak with the person incharge of the phone service and that he is with AT&T.   So I said, if you are with AT&T, then you know the name of the person in charge of the phone service, and what is that name please.  HE says that he's with AT&T and he isn't on the line to sell us anything.  I say, then why are calling?  He says because AT&T is selling its small business long distance to Sure-Tel and he can offer me big discounts.  So I say, well if they are really selling it they'll notify us by mail, otherwise, we're not interests.

This is the same BS call that we've been getting for three years.  We don't do business with cold calling telemarketers, never have, never will.

Got a call similar to the ones listed above. Fortunately, I did not agree but instead called AT&T to make sure they did not have orders to transfer my service to another company. Like the saying goes, If it sounds to goo to be true, it is."

I got a hang up call. I must be lucky.

I received a call from someone at this number.  I asked her if she worked for Qwest and she said no.  I asked her to please take me off their call list and i hung up.  The phone rang again and i didn't answer it.  Then it rang again and the woman said - " you want to hang up on me i'm going to shut your phone service off"  

This is harassment.

Got a call at my work today from 605.519.6765 - it was a woman who asked to speak to the person who handles the Qwest account.  I told her I did not want to speak to any telemarkers or phone resellers and she specifically said she is not, that she is actually with Qwest.  I told her I am not interested and she immediately became belligerent and abuse so I hung up.  She immediately called me back and screamed at me.  Again, I hung up.  During the course of the 15 minutes that followed, she called a total of 8 times - screaming, name-calling and being extremely abusive.  The last time she called I told her I would report her to the FCC and that's exactly what I did.  To file a complaint with the FCC, either go online to find them - or you can call FCC's hotline at 1-888-CALL-FCC

Next time you receice a call from this number, start hitting the # key as many times as it takes to disconnect. It may kick the number out of their system for good.

Just got a call from this number (605-519-6765) asking to speak to the person in charge of at&t account.  Luckily, we just had a rep come ino the office from at&t last week.  When I told the caller this she immediately got huffy with me and said that she would say I declined the discount and hung up on me.
