I ask these yahoos everytime to remove me and they never do.
In fact, some evidence indicates that by answering and asking you just let them verify they have a good number they can now sell to others. It's the same way with spam email (but email is much worse.)

This number was coming up on my caller ID. They were leaving a message about saving money on prescriptions etc. etc.
I did what I always do...and this is the only hope you will have of stopping the unwanted callers:
I pick up the phone & ask "can you do me a favor please?" (sometimes you will get a response in the affirmative) Then I ask POLITELY, "would you be so kind as to remove me from your calling list?"
I used to curse and slam down the phone. Later, I just ignored the calls. A couple years ago, I realized that both those tactics are completely useless. The verbal method above, combined with registering your phone numbers at "https://www.donotcall.gov/" works 95% of the time.
Non-profit and political calls are exempt from the Do Not Call Registry List, however, I have discovered that if you use the verbal method outlined above, they too will remove you from their calling list.
