Just a FYI the DNCL Do Not call list has a complaint section.  You need to be on the Do Not Call List for 31 days.  Hope this helps!

give up folks.  if your govt could/would, had the willingness to do something about this scam, why would you be seeing these complaints for SO LONG ??  do you think they think they owe the taxpayers something for the billions which we have paid out to support them?  you'd think this would be the least they would do for us .. think again!  these are govt workers who could care less about this.  peace

I have been getting these calls for nearly 6 months now and after several requests to be removed from their list with no suscess I have recently tired new tactics.

If I have time to kill, I usually will tell them a recently new vehicle and give a milage around 30,000 miles on it. they will usually tell me that the vehicle has just ran out of warrenty and they will have me hold while they talk to their "supervisor" well I am always lucky because the supervisor will allow me this one time to go ahead and purchase a warrenty.

They will send me to someone for confirmation and we will usually talk for a bit and they will give me a price for the coverage and I agree to the price.  Then they want me to give them a credit card # and I tell them that they called me and I do not feel comfortable giving out a CC# to someone who iniates the call and to mail me some information and I will fill out the paperwork and return it to them.  This usually triggers them to cut the price of the coverage in half and another attempt to get a CC#.  I tell them that I am ok with the initial price for the coverage and I try to be excited about their product.  So they then try to get me to give them a checking account # over the phone and again I will not.

Finally the will even agree to let me go online and check out their companies website and they will hold for 5 - 10 minutes.  Well I have never went to the website, I usually go and do something in the house and in a little bit I will come back on the line and they are there waiting for me.  That is when I tell them that their company usually calles me once or twice a day and I have asked them several times to stop calling me and that I am only keeping them on the phone to keep them from calling another 50 people.  MAN DO THEY GET MAD!!!! I have been called some pretty bad stuff, it only serves to intertain me.  Usually they call me a lowlife and I tell them I know, I have even thought about becomming a telamarketer.  Oh well that is how I have come to deal with them.

all of u should feel lucky! every one in my area code calls then number back but gets directed to MY NUMBER! i have had at least 60 calls in the last week from people who have gotten these calls. A few have been helpful in me understanding this but most are just ignorant a***s who start the conversation with a rude " WHO is this" or the " Why are u calling my phone" and the classic silent and hang up trick.  I called my provider and they just told me to change me number like the bunch of lazy a***s they are.  ANYone know ANYthing else about this ide love the info

We receive several calls from this number, among many others, every day regarding our "about to lapse" auto warranty coverage.  We bought our car locally and know our sales person.  When we talked to him about this call, he told us that they would never send us a prerecorded message regarding our auto warranty.  Besides that, our warranty is good for a few more years, so I know this has to be a hoax.  We, too, are heartily sick of these calls.  I only started trying the following tips for handling telemarketers, so I don't know how well it's working so far. I don't know the source of this following information, or even if these tips work, but I think they're worth a try. At least I feel a little less helpless since I started using the telephone tips.  I haven't felt the need to use any of the "junk mail" tips (my husband works for the post office and he says there is no such thing as junk mail!! ha).  Anyway, here they are:

Start of quote:  "Three Little Words That Work !!

(1)The three little words are: 'Hold On, Please...'

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.

Then when you eventually hear the phone company's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.

These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting.

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.

This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home.

What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!

(3) Junk Mail Help:
When you get 'ads' enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these 'ads' with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.

When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.

Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 37 cents postage 'IF' and when they receive them back.

It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was around 50 cents before the last increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.

One of Andy Rooney's (60 Minutes) ideas.
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!
If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you send them.

You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 41 cents.

The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it...Twice!

Let's help keep our postal service busy!" End of quote (source unknown).

Every one receviving this call needs to make a compaint with the National Do not Call list this will result in government action. The web site is https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

I got a call from this number on 1/2 at 10:36 am .The caller ID only displayed the telephone number 606-879-4307 , Unknown Name .Someone needs to go after these a***oles who keep repeatedly violating States DO NOT CALL LISTs. I am on PA's Do Not Call list and yet I get these crap phone calls.Judging from the comments of others this is probably the same company that uses several other numbers to call about phony Auto Warranty coverage.

I receive at least 3-4 calls a week from this number and "company".  I too have asked many times to be removed from their call list considering my car is very old and the warrenty ran out about 20 years ago.  They still call.  Most the time it is a recording but if I call them back I get no answer.  This is harrassment.  Bellsouth has a feature *60 to trace the call to Bellsouth.  If this is reported 3 times (or traced) Bellsouth will automactically contact them.  Good luck!

These calls are illegal, and anyone receiving these calls can pursue legal remedies.

First, car warranty telemarketing scams are very hot right now. The calls are almost always randomly dialed, so the telemarketer has no idea whether you have a new car under warranty or an old car or if you even have a car.  The message they call with makes it sound like your car warranty is about to expire; this is just a scare tactic aimed at tricking into "buying" a new car warranty and giving them your credit card number (which is what they are really after.)

I'm familiar with the car warranty scam because earlier this summer I was repeatedly slammed with prerecorded telemarketing calls trying to sell car warranties. The message on the recording made it sound extremely urgent and told me this was my "last notice" and that my car warranty is about to expire.

Regarding the calls you're receiving: if they are prerecorded messages, then they are illegal. Period. The federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) specifically forbids telemarketers from making prerecorded calls to anyone who has not given permission to receive such calls.  (As if anyone would give permission to receive such calls lol). Anyway, you can take your revenge by reporting each call online to the Federal Communications Commission (which enforces the TCPA.) It just takes a few minutes to fill out the form and here's the link to do that: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do  The more information you can give in your complaint, the better. So try to note the date and time of each call and all the information contained on the Caller ID if you have that service.  (After I filed several reports with the FCC regarding the non-stop illegal telemarketing calls I received, the calls stopped altogether a couple weeks later.)

And just for good measure, you may want to also file a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission here: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

Finally, most consumers don't realize that the TCPA also provides an avenue for them to pursue monetary damages against the offending telemarketer to the tune of $500 per call. Of course, that involves going to court but it's not as difficult as it sounds. I believe that each time the telemarketer makes the call, they could be subject to paying $500 in damages. (In other words, if they call you 5 times, they could be liable for $2,500 in damages paid to you.) Check out this link to the website of a lawyer who was startled awake in the early morning hours by an unauthorized prerecorded telemarketing call: http://www.panix.com/~eck/telemarket.html  He tells the detailed story of how he made a tidy little profit by putting the provisions of the TCPA to work against a lawbreaking telemarketer.

Hope this helps.

Repeated calls with recording for warrenty about to expire. They can't be making a living doing it they way they seem to be? What is the true purpose of these calls? Does anyone know if this has a alternate agenda? Is it just harassment?
Just got a call while typing and was unknown caller ID. Live person "Shannon" said she was calling on my expiring warranty on my Mercury. When I asked her which one she took a minute and said your newer one. I asked who she worked for and she said Ford Lincoln Mercury's main processing center in New Jersey and that they had other centers in Fort Lauderdale and (the last I missed). When I politely asked the phone number she hung up on me. The background noise sounded like many operators but I am not sure if it was real.
This has a smell of corruption or another agenda - so why is it allowed to go on? What benefit?

Just got a call a few hours ago and wasn't home. I get calls from them - saying the same thing, something about my vehicle warranty - almost everyday and have gone through the system to remove my number 6 times. I have also gone through to talk to a rep and asked to be removed that way and was hung up on.

Receiving MULTIPLE calls from an agency claiming that my vehicle warranty is about to expire and that this is their "final" courtesy call.

These calls started late last October and have been from different numbers.  They leave recorded messages on my machine, but don't identify their company or provide a call back number.  My caller ID shows that the latest call (received just a few minutes ago) came from 606-879-4307.  When I use the reverse number lookup online, it says it's a residence, but provides no further information.

I've actually answered a few of calls, have been put on with a "rep" and asked them which of our vehicles they were calling about.  They said they don't have that information on file, but if I gave them my vehicles' information, they would be able to tell me which one.  When I ask them for their company name, or address, or for a supervisor, they always hang up on me.  They have offered to put me through to their "removal database", which I have followed through with at least nine times (without exaggeration), and still we get the calls.

Starting today, I will be keeping a log of the dates, times, and Caller IDs for these.

This is obviously phone spamming and is harassment.  I feel helpless to stop it.  Is there anyone who can help?
