You are incorrect. According to the FAQ page from the website you posted

"Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted"

WBA are Surveyors. Good luck with bringing that to court.

Saw their number as a missed call...I pretty much don't answer most out of state calls...not always the best idea... but family will leave a message if I don't answer. I research calls and block numbers of states in which I have no family. ..sometimes I block the area code instead...which is great for legitimate survey takers that I don't give a flying #$@* about(more so than scammers)....no message left

I ended up finally picking up their call and actually got $50 for doing a survey that took a while but wasn't a big deal.

Got this call today and it was just a nice, polite woman from Carefirst BlueShield, whom I just enrolled with for health insurance at the beginning of the year. She was just doing a quality control survey to make sure I was happy with my service. It was quick and painless and took less than 10 minutes of my time. It's not spam but it probably is a market research company that was hired by the insurance company to conduct interviews.

Called asking about my graduate school plans, specifically public policy (the planned grad school subject I listed for my GREs). Asked for my GRE scores and the name of the place I am most likely to attend. Then said thank you and hung up. Started off with complete this survey and we'll send you $50. Asked for the company name and he provided the website for http://www.wbaresearch.com. Absolutely ridiculous. DON'T DO WHAT I DID. JUST HANG UP!

Just called me & left no message.  Called back & informed them I am on DoNotCall.  They said market research companies have been deemed exempt by congress because market research is valuable.  Yeah, I wish someone would research how lame every member of congress is.  They don't do their jobs, shut down the government, and continue to be paid for doing nothing.  Market Research that!

Just tell them that you charge X number of dollars and require booking and payment 3 months in advance.  And that even full compliance is no guarantee you will be available at that time.  Call it an annoyance fee.

A lady called from this number made it sound like she worked for Amtrak and wanted to know how a trip I took went. I answered her first two questions then I realized she was fishing for something other than customer satisfaction information (wanted origination location and ending location) she got aggressive with me when I wouldn't answer and I got a bad feeling about it. I said "I don't know who you are but you don't have any business asking me these questions" and I hung up. Don't talk to these people.

The issue with sending a letter is that the responses are often unclear. If we're on the phone with someone and don't understand what you mean by something, we can ask. I get that there are a lot of people out there trying to scam you out of your money on the phone, but WBA's not one of them. Any questions you have about the legitimacy of the study should be answered by the person who calls you? they can give you a website to check out and supervisor numbers to call. The bottom line is that you can decide not to do a phone survey as easily as you can decide not to do a survey by mail. It doesn't even have to take up much of your time. You can just pick up the phone and say "take me off your list" or "stop calling", hang up, and you will get coded out of the system.

Even easier than complaining online!

There is also the other option: take the survey. WBA doesn't want money from you, and they won't ask for any kind of sensitive information. AND if there's anything you're not comfortable answering for whatever reason? Just say so. As far as I know, that's always an option.

These people have been calling me every night for weeks. I answered a few times, mostly because I work from home as a consultant and can't afford to miss calls from numbers I don't recognize.

They claim to be calling in regards to a survey for Carefirst Insurance. I have never stayed on the phone long enough to see if it's actually a survey. I usually hang up, or say I'm not interested. However, tonight I asked to be taken off of their list and instead of a response, they just hung up. We'll see if they call back again.

So, just send a letter and ask that people fill out a survey, if they want to they will. Simple as that. Or would you prefer deceitful responses? Yeah, maybe that is what you want so your numbers look cool.

I work at WB&A. This is how I pay my bills. Honestly, I'm just doing my job when I call someone. Some people get way too uptight about receiving phone calls. If you don't want us to call you, answer the phone and say so. It really is that simple. I can't stand the type of people who answer the phone and just be outright rude. You wouldn't act that way in person so why act that way on the phone.

Anyhow, here is some insider information on the surveys you may take. A lot of times we are basically told to mislead people as to the exact reason we're calling. For example, in the military study John seemed to have received a call about, this is actually a study funded by the Air National Guard. The interviewer who calls you will NOT tell you this. They will simply say it's about getting people's "attitudes towards the military". While this may be somewhat true, the real nature of this survey is to see how well the Air National Guard's advertising works and how much affect it has on influencing those ages 17-39 to join. This survey is NOT a recruiting survey, however. But do expect to receive a call back a few months later after taking the survey. I'm told there is a follow up in which we will call back those who completed it. I'm not quite sure what it's about.

Another misleading survey is what we call "School Studies". These are actually worth taking as there is $50-100 incentive for completing. We call high school seniors who have applied for college in the fall in order to find out why a student applied for a certain school. What the students don't know is that these are actually funded by specific schools. We make it seem like we're interested in learning about all the schools they applied to but in reality we just want to now about one, the client school. One of the clients we work with for example is Michigan Anne Arbor. Michigan is looking for information about what is good and what is not good about they're school, in the student's opinion.

And one more misleading study is one call you might receive where all the interviewer will tell you is that it is a study about healthcare. We will ask who your health care provider is and then ask you general satisfaction questions in regards to your carrier. The motive behind this is for the client, Blue Cross of Idaho, to find out what makes these Idaho residents choose those health care carriers over BCI.

Anyhow, all and all WBA is an okay place to work and we really aren't trying to scam anybody. Although some studies might be a little misleading, it really is only your opinions and feedback we're after. If you don't want to participate just answer the phone and say so. Otherwise, be nice to the people calling as they're just trying to make a living like anybody else.

I did a little research on their website.  One "their clients" tab is my health insurance and I called for a co-worker to ask some questions since she is brand new and they needed to talk to a member.

That is why they are most likely calling.

Thank god, I can block them on my cell list. :)
