Thank you for the warning.

I had interview scheduled for today and decided after reading a couple blogs from December that it definitely was not worth my time.

thanks.

I received a call from Jeff Hughbanks as well, to come in for an interview this week.  He asked me to please give him the courtesy of calling, if I could not make the appointment.  However, he did not extend me that same courtesy.

I came prepared for the interview, read these blogs and others, and researched the company.  To my dismay (but no surprise because prior bloggers foretold the process), he did not show up.  I entered an empty office and stood there for one minute before being greeted, by a very unprofessional looking person.

When asked for my resume, it was immediately turned over and placed on the desk.  During this 20 minute so called interview (which really wasn't an interview, because I was never interviewed), this person rambled on about retiree statistics.  I was never asked ANY questions about myself, my career nor was my resume even addressed.  It just sat there flipped over.

After this person rambled for 20 minutes, they got up from the desk, walked me to the door, and I was told this is a three phase process (again no surprise).  The next phase is to meet in a group to learn more about the company ("group" really means weeding out, rather than respecting YOUR time, YOUR individual talents and possible contributions, etc). Having my valuable time already wasted by Jeff Hughbanks cancelling, listening to 20 minutes of rambling, dismissing my presence and resume...why would I want to learn even more about the company?

Over the years, I've participated in only three different "group interviews, to have learned my lesson and to know when to run, and run fast.  Hope future readers learn from this experience and use their valuable time to look for an opportunity elsewhere.

?Jeff Hughbanks? (nor can I find a LinkedIn or any other profile, which seems odd for anyone in business growth mode these days)  was not there.  Another person met with me who had not seen my resume.  He asked if I had brought one with me and I offered it to him ?he set it on the table and never looked at it while I was there.  He explained they ran a 3-part interview process. Only after I asked did he clarify that while there are several positions including sales, agency set-up (which he said involved multilevel marketing) and operations management, but, NONE were salaried or provided wages ?they are all based upon commissions or bonuses/contingencies.  I stated that that was not what I had indicated I was seeking and that I was afraid we were both wasting each other?s time.  As I picked up my resume he stood, never looked at me, offered ?have a nice day?, never offered his hand, and basically let me walk to the door.  Not only was the process faulty and unprofessional, but also was this guy?s response.  I was treating it as though someone else, not he, orchestrated the meeting poorly, yet he was unapologetic and quite ungentlemanly.  Being a guy with more than 20 years of successful insurance experience (having sold my business after 15 years), and another 11 years of management and executive consulting, I would not only be very cautious of anyone recruiting you to Primerica in the agency area, but suspicious.

Jeff Hughbanks is a Division Leader with Primerica.  I met with him and he's developing the company in Madison and Milwaukee.  I researched Primerica after meeting with him and found great things. Only thing negative I found was in blogs, but it seemed like whoever was writing them had a bone to pick with the company.  Typical for today.

I am in the process of interviewing with Primerica and learning about he company.  I did a search of Primerica and found a stock analyst article, "David vs. Goliath", talking about Primerica in comparison to Morgan Stanley.  The article was very complimentary of Primerica.  I also found a video clip from, Mad Money, the show on CNBC, talking about the PRI intial public offering back in April of 2010.  Jim Cramer also spoke highly of the company.  It bothers me how people put posts on the internet with no facts.  I've learned Primerica is the top issuer of term life insurance in the country, does investments through companies like American Funds, Fidelity, Invesco, Franklin Templeton, and more.  They partner with Answer Financial to offer auto and homeowners insurance through Travelers, Metlife, Progressive, Safeco, 21st Century and more.  I guess I was confused when I saw this post.  The facts and the above post don't seem to go together.  I'm not sure Primerica is the career choice for me, but it sure seems like this other post was written by someone with a agenda against Primerica.

Ready to harass your family and friends 'til they buy 5th rate financial products that you couldn't explain if your life depended on it?

Then THIS is the [removed:lang] job for YOU! Oh, and you have to write a lot of puffy internet posts too like "Dave" here to make sure people who tell the truth about Primeriscam don't interfere with your profit margin LOL!
