Got this one yesterday too.

Good thing I didn't answer if it's just a whole life insurance telemarketing gig.  Whole life insurance itself is practically a scam.. do you're due diligence on "term" and you'll understand.

Got a call from this number with an auto message claiming to be selling whole life insurance policies.  It told me to press 1 for more information.   I did, but it said nothing.   I called this number back, and the message only says, "Press 1 to remove from call list".  I got suspicious and googled this phone # and seen this blog.   "Wow"!    These scamming @#%! need to be caught fast!

Got a call from this number on my business cell, so assume this number just random dials. i did not pick it up after i read other posts. Thanks

I blocked the number on my phone.  It's probably Big Brother.  Screw U buddy.

its about credit cards, really just annoying calls that computers call out from, telemarketing  calls, i have had 10 in the last 4 days saying the same thing but different numbers, if you get them while on the do not call list (nationally) you can call and report it and they will be fined. also when asked what the company's name was i got hung up on! how rude!

my cell registered a call from this number.  since no one I know has the number and the ringer is off, I never answer any calls.  Who are these people in area 307 that can remove my number?  Why would they be in Wyoming if the call is coming from WI?

It's because, you need to call back, hit option #1 and then the automated system will delete your phone number from the caller's list.

Caller ID came up as "PRIVATE" and "116082373193" - Since this number is too long and doesn't work with this lookup website, I truncated the 011 country code, and found this, and I can figure it as the typical spoof to register a live answering phone. Interesting that they would use a country code in the spoofed number- it means they have done some homework to know that we call an aunt in the UK every now and then. A social engineering attempt to target a responder- all they want and need is to amke contact with a live person answering- its not even important that they have someone to talk with you- they only need the live answerer criteria to sell it or use it later as they see fit.

Called today at 10:36 a.m. but didn't leave a message.  I am in Ontario, Canada, area code 905.

Got a call from this number stating that the FBI was willing to install a home security in my home for free. I hung up and did not listen to the rest of the message

I answered it after it called for the third time within five minutes. It was a recorded message. "Concerned" who posted here is correct, it was a credit/debt consolidation company.

I have heard that you don't want to "press 2" or whatever to "remove your name" from a telemarketer's list. Radio/TV money-type show hosts say that action confirms your number is an active number, that you answer and respond, and then your number gets on published lists that are sold to other companies. Comments?

No need to be paranoid, just chose option #1 and the automated system will remove your phone number from the caller's listj(they already called you/know your number).

Claimed they were from some sort of credit consolidation company.  They immediately got suspicious when I requested information about the company and where they were located.  Caller identified himself as Brian and said he was calling from Manhattan.  When I asked for the address he hung up.  So far as I know Manhattan is not in area code 608 (Wisconsin).

I don't know who the caller is but I do know how to stop the phone calls; 888-556-7682.

Scammer number collectors post this number on these phone number websites. It's a "you confirmed your real number, sucker" number.
