This woman called me several times saying I owed $826.00 for computer ads.  I told her I never approved that and would not pay inless she proved I requested it.  She is very rude and ends up hanging up on me.
Now someone from this phone number has tabed into my computer and who know what they got.
I have open a case with the Federal Trade Commission and I am keeping them updated each time they call me.  This is harassment and I will fight back.

had received at least 3 calls a day on a daily basis. Each time they asked for my husband (who is the owner) and all I would say is he is not available but I can take a message. each time is was the same, they would reply "no thank you ill call later". Today this rude foreign sounding guy begins to aggressively explain to me that our website was cancelled by the owner of our company and he was calling to give the "confirmation number of the cancellation" to the owner. I again explained to him that the owner was not in and if he would like I will take a message. This guy begins to shout and say "I need to talk to the owner because he needs the confirmation number of the cancellation to his web page". I calmly explained to him that I had been the person who answered every single call and have never passed any call to "the owner". I told him since you do have our email address on our "web page" then go ahead and email it to us and "the owner will have it". the guy hung up and 5 seconds later called back just to say "you dirty Mexican s****!", so I said please say that again so that the recording will be clear. of course, he hung up

Just received a phone call from this number saying they were  Business Registry.com and that I owe them roughly $859.00 for two years of service.  They said they had already billed me after a year and since I did not pay it.last year, they needed to collect for two now.  I asked about who I could speak to regarding  this and there was no referral and that the number they were calling from was an online number.  In addition, they said that their service had given my business access to 7 major search engines.  I know who I pay my bills to for my web service and I never received an invoice thru the mail or online from these folks and I am very careful about this type of thing.  I asked them as to when did I give them verbal permission to bill me and they said Oct. 7th....but did not give the year.  Then I asked if I could hear the recording and they said they would transfer me...which meant they were hanging up.  They did not call back and I have turned the phone number over to the Country Fraud division.

Got a phone call at my full time job today from my part time job boss - he had told these people to call me on my cell phone to discuss - they went so far as to say that they had collected money from us back in October of 2011, that one of my co-workers had authorized the charges, and even told me that they had bank information on file from our bank (where are account actually is located!). I explained to LORA DAVIS (supervisor) that I did not have any financial information in front of me to pay anything up front (they offered some sort of discount of $200 to pay immediately), but said if we had the bill faxed or mailed to us that it would be $828. I told them well, I guess you will have to send it out because I was not able to authorize payment.

Thought everything was overwith when my boss called me AGAIN today, because a different lady called him and said I had authorized the immediate payment yesterday and that he was to give them the banking info. Thank goodness he called me before doing so - then the same lady again called me (at my full time job) so I told her to stop bothering me, as I thought we had all of this resolved YESTERDAY. I did some research today using a reverse phone # lookup and found several comments with regard to this similar to mine. If they call again, my boss told me he is going to keep them on speaker phone and tell them he is calling our attorney on the other line just to see what they do/say.

Received a call from what the girl said was National Business Advertising. Said that she was calling to close our account for advertising and collect the fee.  I said we do not advertise (we do not).  And then the whole conversation started going in circles (our neighborhood newsletter at already reported that this scam is popular, so I had a heads up--although, I seem to have "spidey sense" when it comes to scams).  She eventually hung up on me, when I kept repeating that I wanted her phone number to call back.

IF they call back (and, previous posts makes it look like they will), I plan on having even more fun with them!

1ST IDEA
Since so many companies record their own voicemail these days, how about pretending they are in Voicemail Jail?  For example, tell them "just a minute", then after pausing say, "Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Service, Press 3 for Customer Support" AND NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY OR PRESS, PUT YOUR PHONE ON MUTE AND SAY NOTHING!  Let them just sit there!

2ND IDEA
The second you realize it's them SAY NOTHING, just put your phone on MUTE (so they hear no tone from your end) and wait for them to give up.

3RD IDEA
Tell them "I am required by law to inform you that this call is being recorded."  You will need to continue to repeat that, because it sounds like they are reading from a script.  If that doesn't get them to hang up, go to idea #1 or #2!

I have a ton of ideas!  All of the fun aside,  I personally think not talking is the best way to handle this.  It sounds like they are well trained to talk in circles, try to intimidate and just be persistent.  They cannot control you, if you don't talk with them!

Received a call from National Business Advertising. Lora Davis said she was calling to confirm my cancellation order for my company listing. She asked if I had a pen to take down the confirmation # and that I would need to pay my bill of $889.00 for cancellation to take effect or it would auto renew.  She spoke very fast  and when I tried to speak to her, she got really angry . I have never heard of this business  and I did not sign up for any business listing service.

Have been receiving these calls repeatedly for about 2 years.  We are a Clinic, so I am not available while with patients.  They are told to call before 9 AM.  Just so happens I took a call just now.  The person ask for the person who handles Yellow Book.  I said, I do.  She proceeded to confirm that I wanted to cancel my Yellow Book Online Service and receive my final invoice.  I told her I do not have Yellow Book Online and never have.   She argued with me and stated that we do and she has an Invoice for final payment.  I then told her I was reporting her to the Arkansas Attorney General.  She immediately hung up.  I then called my Yellow Book representative who confirmed that this is a scam and has been going on for some time.  I am going to follow up and report them to the Attorney General.

My turn was today!!!  When she said that I'd asked not to be called, I told her, "That's right, so we'll just not talk any more."  Then she told me not to tell her how to do her job. Because I'd read about this scam, I just told her that I'd read about the scam and she wasn't going to get anything from me.  I see there are sufficient posts for anyone to know this is a scam, but I wanted to let others know a later date that it continues.

Pretty much the same - rude lady telling me i have to play along with her script or my "listing" will cost a lot more than it's already costing me.  Never signed up for any listing, and after repeated attempts to get her name and company info to report it, her telling me nothing but how rude i am, i hung up.  These people should be prosecuted!

I have learned to be very nice and screw with these people.  It is very fun to drive them crazy.  You know who you owe money to.  The second you get a phone call about money, you know they are trying to screw you.  If you want this to stop, SCREW with them and this sales method will go away.  The employees that do this work only are paid for a sale.  Keep them on the phone as long as possible

Have Fun

Fast-speaking, thick-accented man called asking for our company owner by name.  I guessed it was some kind of cold sales call, so I put the guy on hold for a bit, and then told him that Mr.___ was not available, to which he replied, something like... "I am calling to let Mr.___ know the directory service he asked to cancel is not cancellable; and we need information to renew the billing, so you can help me.. ."  I had heard of this SCAM before, so I asked for the company name - he muttered something so fast I couldn't understand, and proceeded to try to talk over me while I was telling him that I knew this call was bogus scam ... I eventually yelled several times into the phone, "DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN!" and hung up on him.  I *HATE* a**sholes like this.

Just received a call from "National Business Registry" from 609-207-7539.  As from a lot of other comments, a woman stated that "our" two year contract was ending and tried to give me a confirmation number.  I stated ending for what?  I never signed up with you or anything like that.  She continued to try and push a confirmation number and I stated "well as long as I don't have to pay for anything" hook knowing full well it was a scam.  She then stated, "Oh of course you have to pay, you were in a two year contract".  Know what I said?  "OK, I know this is a scam and I know that I never signed up for anything like that" and promptly hung up on her.  Be VERY VIGILANT people and never fall for these types of tactics.

The caller identified herself as Susan James, from a company called BRegistry.  She was going to give me a code to close an account I had with them and to collect a balance of $800.  When I explained to her I never ordered any service from her company or paid for any service she became combative and rude, and demanded payment or the service will renew.  Realizing this was a hoax, I hung up the phone.  They called again 3 more times, living no messages

This guy calls my business once a week.  Telling me that we owe them over $800.00 and he is sending me a bill.  He is very rude and if you hang up on him, he calls you back.  Today when he called I told him if he will fax me the bill I would pay him .  He said let me record this then. Got back on the phone and said we are now on a record so if I fax you a bill, you will pay it right now.  I said well let me have your number so if we get disconnected I can call you back . he gave me a number.  I said I am going to call you on the other line to make sure this your number.  He then told I was so stupid and must be from the South. Then asked was I from Alabama? I continued to dial the number on speaker so he could hear, and he hung up on me.  He will call again I am sure.

I am agreeing with EVERY person that has commented about this number! VERY rude, no customer service. Demanded to talk to my boss, he was not here. Called back a few hours later, asking for my boss, I said AGAIN he's not here, and she just put me on hold.

Back to the first time she called (by the way "she" is LORA DAVIS-VERY RUDE), Lora said she was with Yellow Pages Business something to do with Google AND Twitter and told me that we owed $589.00 to cancel this subscription and she was going to fax me the invoice. She then told me that I would be given a confirmation closing #....never got it. Was put on hold, ended up hanging up.

She stated her name was Lora Davis and she would be sending out a bill for the yellow pages. I told her that we never had service with them and I deal with AT & T yellow pages. She got mad and hung up, they will never get a dime from me, I don't care how many numbers they call me from

The same exact thing happened to me today. Someone named Lora Davis stated that my acct was going to be closed at midnight tonight and i needed to pay 829.99. I opted for them to mail me an invoice so i could look into it further. Upon investigation, i discovered it was false, so when i called back to complain and clearly state that we will not be paying that bill, they put me in touch with someone named Daniel Lewis. We had a screaming match and that was that. a total scam!

Today at about 3 pm received the same call that everyone else did. It was from this New Jersey phone number, from a man with a strong Indian, possible Guyanese accent, threatening to "cut off service" if I did not pay $829 for one year of advertising that I "owed" them, and reminding me that I had already received a free year of "advertising" already!! I could scarcely contain my laughter. He got mad at me for laughing at him and hung up on me when I asked him if I was going to be on the Y100 Elvis' Morning radio show this week or next week!! The sad thing is that there are probably a few people out there who will be intimidated into paying $829 for this non-existent service and alas, falling victim to their scam. Whom can we report this to? The FBI??

I receive the same phone calls about the same time every year from this number. Once I tell them off, they don't call back for a while. Wants to proceed with a voice recording to cancel my advertising as I requested. Beat around the bush when I asked what company she was calling from. Finally told me she "the yellow pages" online. I would be billed for my services of over $500 once cancelled. I didn't even ask to speak to a manager this time. Just refused to acknowledge that I wanted their services in the first place, and hung up. A couple of years ago, I asked to speak to the manager, they refused, so I let them connect me with someone who would record the conversation, and flat told them I didn't request any services, Didn't want them and would not state that I wanted them cancelled, because I never requested them in the first place. She got rude with me, and said that's not what she needed recorded and refused to deal with me. Would like to see these places removed so they don't scam someone else.

Just got a call from this number - brought up Beach Haven, NJ on the caller id.  I work for a small business, they asked for the owner by his last name only - the guy had a very heavy accent.  I told him the owner was on the phone - which he wasn't, but this guy didn't identify himself, that's just one way I weed out scams - if it's legit, they will leave a message. He proceeded to ask "how long on phone" I told him I had no clue how long he would be - which I really don't. Then he asked if he could hold and I said that or I could take a message, he sat there for a good 10-15 seconds silent then gave a smartass laugh and hung up on me.  Do these folks honestly think just because some of us answer phones for a living that we have an IQ of a brick?
