This is a SCAM. Prior calls showed "G.S.L.E.O.A." - Garden State Law Enforcement Officers Association.

I'm home today and the phone just keeps ringing! Scam # after scam#. I go straight here to check what else is being done or said. Everything from credit card scams to breast cancer. This # calls almost every day. What a life these losers lead!

They can call a couple of times a day; last night right before 9:00 was the last straw! I called the caller ID # and it goes right to a recording asking for donation for some police thing. AGAINST THE LAW AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, ESPECIALLY THAT LATE WHEN I'M HALF ASLEEP.

They have only called 6x this week!

Thank you.. or posting the # sign and delay time information.  I am getting these calls every day and multiple times/day.

They've called several times and have not left a message. This time I answered and there was no one on the line.

I received a call last week 10/04 from 609-439-4804 it was somebody from the police asking for money for charity, I told him I was the cleaning lady that I don't understand English. He hung up.

If I don't recongnize the phone number I DON'T ANSWER.If it's a legit call they'll leave a message.That why we have ID caller.When I'm watching TV and a phone number comes on my screen that I don't recongnize...let it ring!

They have been callling for the past week (late Sep and early Oct, 2013) and not leaving any message.  If they do call when I'm at home, I will simply ask for a badge number and that will end it if they aren't really law enforcement.  Of course, it's illegal to impersonate a law officer.

Tired of these callers, usually screen with caller ID. FCC did work when I complained about cell phone service.

They have been calling for a month..even after being asked to stop calling.  This is a scam..  Most of the time if I answer, no one is on the other line.  Tonight I started yelling in the phone and told them to take me off the list.  Finally someone got on the line and apologized that they had been calling for over a month.

Good luck with the complaint to the FCC.........LOL.........IMO they have little concern about this issue.
I just received the same call..........I never answer if I don't recognize the number.
I never heard about using # key..........it's worth a try..........thanks for the idea.

My caller I.D. gave the 609 number and Trenton as the person. When you decide to answer a suspicious call, which I did since I was curious about the "Trenton" I.D., be ready to repeatedly mash the Pound Key (#). When a telemarketer calls there is usually a delay for a couple seconds before someone responds. That is because their computer takes time to search and relay the call to an available telemarketer and that short delay is a signal that the call is a telemarketer. Mashing the pound key before the computer makes the connection usually tells the computer that the number is not assigned and will cause the computer to reject the phone number.

So, when you say "hello" and no one responds immediately (as normal calls) start the pound key action. It does not always work but is worthwhile to try it. It worked with the 609 number. The other option is being friendly and tell the caller to "put this number on your Do Not Call List (in accordance to federal law) and they are required to comply.
I am on the National Do Not Call Registry but do get some calls regardless. You can go on line and fill out a complaint with the FCC and they will follow up. It is also illegal to use scare tactics.
BTW - when using abbreviations, such as I.D., the rule of thumb is using periods in the abbreviation if it otherwise spells a word. Such is ID (without periods) which can be confused with primitive instincts and energies underlying all psychic activity.

Very clever making the caller ID read Trenton so that you scare people into picking up.......all for a telemarketer!

Police and Firefighters will never solicit money by phone; this is a scam!

I recd a call from this number at 3:30 PM today. The grooved voice on the other side requested for donations for the Law Enforcer's Welfare something .......................may be 15 or 20 bucks only.........I apologized for not supporting now.

Same thing as others reported.  Hung up when answering machine picked up.  Said Trenton on caller ID.  Wish they would pass a law about these types of calls.

Most likely Mercer County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).  They have MANY different number they call from.  Soliciting donations for their annual fund raiser.  Not sure if its on the level or not.  Guy sounds like a real jerk!

It's the fake fraternal order of police again pretending to be a non-profit.  Called at 8:45 p.m.

Same here,  today is 07/16/13.  Caller ID showed Trenton, NJ.  Hung up when answer machine activated.

Repeated calls on Caller I.D.  Caller hangs up when machine comes on.  Most recent call was on June 14, 2013.  Caller I.D. notes "TRENTON" and the number.
