called today and said his name was sean and then hung up?

Same microsoft scam thing. What do I do?

Same guy called me twice today... He just repeats everything over and over when he doesn't get the information he wants. I called the number back and of course it says that the number is not taking calls. LOVELY! I haven't nor will I give them information!

612-295-1366 I couldn't understand really the first guy and I said yes to be transferred to the second guy whp was offering a trip to the Bahamas for only 119 dollars and something about the Gov. tax included he said. I couldn't understand him either about the Gov. deal, but anyway I had to pay $119 to get this offer TODAY!
I said no and that was it. It sounded like a scam to me.

got this call today...  I didn't answer but tried to call it back and the number goes to a fast busy signal

This guy with the Indian accept has been calling for months now!  I've told him a dozen times to stop called that he's a fraud and I'm reporting him.  He has even called my cell phone!   I hope no one is falling for his "I'm calling from windows" crap.

Hola, The same guy called again but my dad wouldn't take the call and told him to call tomorrow, meanwhile he called Microsoft and confirmed that they hadn't called. So we didn't pick up the phone again, so Alex was sadly ignored.

He's baaaaack. 6:20pm. Same bozo with the same story, "problem with my computer". I answered, "Oh good! I was afraid no one was going to try to scam or cheat me today, I'm SO relieved!"  Then I hung up.

This is a well known HOAX--FRAUD--HACKER attempt to get access to your pc and download to it or upload your passwords!  NEVER, NEVER EVER allow remote access, NEVER!  

I told him that I do NOT believe him and consider this a fraudulent criminal call and that I would report it to my police department.  Microsoft does NOT call customers--ever!

One should NEVER give anyone access to their computer if it was Microsoft they would of notified you by mail or email.  Once they have access to your computer that is it - free information.  The first clue is when they call it says "Name Not Found"!!

I did not answer the call that came in from 612-295-1366.  I tried calling that number back out of curiosity after reading these postings and it said ' you have reached a non-working number.'  Interesting being just 2 minutes earlier a call came in with this number.

I just got a call from this number and this guy kept saying he works for Windows, I asked him to give me his work number and said he is not authorized.
I kept asking him questions and he kept giving me the same answer, that he works for Windows and he's trying to help me.
I said if you don't give me any more info, I won't give you any more of mine.

I just got a call from 612-295-1366 with a heavily accented male voice asking for me to place my pc remote access on.   I old him I was a federal officer (I am a Commissioned colonel, Army Reserve), and he hung up!  LOL!!!

Same here.  I have gotten 2 calls so far.  I told him I did not own a computer, it belonged to the Sheriff's Office and was not my computer...he hung up!  Beware, they are fishing for your info, do not give them any info!

Just got a call from a lady with a thick middle eastern accent. Said they needed to notify me  my that there was something on my computer that was not allowing them to update my Windows 7 and that they needed to access my computer so that they could see what was restricting the updates. When I asked for a number to verify who she was then she hung up.

Just got the call. Same as above. Had just gotten online when he called. He got so mad at me he said my computer would crash in 2 minutes.

Can you please provide a bit more information.  Seems the person was looking for something installed on your pc.  I just wanted to get further information to look into new virus/ malware intrustion. I don't need the numbers, but the first few letters it will show.  assoc cmd shows all the file type associations and how microsoft links them (.txt, .doc, .html, etc).  If he asked to remote into your pc I am guessing you had what he was looking for.

Actually the full line would help, incase your extension was already modified to what he needed.

Got a call from them at 3:50pm.  I didn't answer, because it was coming out of cleveland, and I knew it was not for me.  I would have liked to talk to this guy if he says he was from Microsoft, but reading the guys post about the command he had him enter shows it was a scammer.  I am curious on which File association he was looking for, as it will help the rest of us to correct the compromised files, and maybe be alert to the next malware virus.  

On a side note, do any of you own the new Microsoft surface?  I wonder if it's related since it was the last thing I have purchased and may have been compromised.

Same thing as everyone above happened to me just now, and when you try to call back you get a weird electronic buzzing sound.

I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM THE ABOVE NUMBER. AND THE PERSON SAY'S THAT HE IS WITH MICROSOFT AND SAYS THAT MY WINDOW WASN'T PROPERLY LICENSED. I TOLD HIM I BOUGHT FROM DELL AND I NEVER UPDATED MY COMPUTER, OR EVEN DO A RECOVERY ON IT. I TOLD HIM TO CALL DELL HIMSELF. HE HAND UP ON ME AND I CALLED BACK THIS IS A INVALID NUMBER.

BE ALERT THIS GUY IS LIE...... DON'T GIVE HIM ANY INFORMATION. HIS TRYING TO REMOTE CONTROL YOUR COMPUTER AND CAN TAKE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION INCLUDING YOUR BANK INFORMATION.

Got same phone call from that number. I answered with my name. Person Hung up.  about 5 calls in the last month.

I got the same phone call just now. He had me go into the command screen and read back a "serial #" after having me input the letters "cmd" and then "assoc". He then asked for permission to remote access my computer.

I got a call from this same number from a guy with a very heavy Indian accent saying the same thing.  I told him that I had my own tech people and hung up.  I'd run virus scans and all that right now to make sure you don't have a tracking cookie attached

I got a call from this number and a guy saying he was from Microsoft tech support and that my computer was  sending error reports and could I turn on my computer so a tech could fix it.  I said how do I know that you are who you say and he hung  up on me so, beware!!
