An Mexican court has convicted an American man , Armando Fischman of Fort Laudardale, Florida,sentencing him of 40 years in prison after a 2 months-long trial that drew intense media attention

The eight members of the jury, including two judges, also convicted  American, Raffaele Sollecito, of the same charges, sentencing him to 25 years.

off the Coast of San Felipe in the California Baja in the Sea of Cortez.,allegedly trying to pillage a Spanish  Dutch cargo vessel which sank in 1877,The 17th-century galleon laden with gold and diamonds worthed several millions dollars.
If convicted, the men face forty years imprisonment on two charges each of theft from the wreck and damage to the historic environment.They had to wait six months before recovering confiscated equipment, powerfull metal detectors, sand scoops, vacumm dredges, magnetometers, ROV.
