recieved call this morning, it went as followed - "Hello .. did you know that the FBI reports over 200 break ins a day? .. you can help protect yourself by signing up for a free home security.  All we ask of you is that you allow us to place a sign in your yard.  Remember this is a FREE offer." and then i hung up.  SCAM to the 10th degree.

Home security scam.  Do not EVER purchase a home security system via phone telemarketing.  It is the single easiest way for crooks to get into your house, learn where you keep your most valuable stuff, then come in whenever they want to and help themselves.

I just got a call from this number, looked local so I answered...it was a pitch for a free home security system, if I let them put a sign in my yard...I hung up..there is no free ride

612-844-1818 is an automated telemarketing company from www.IWill2013.com re: Brian Hammer & how he made SO much money! So if he made SO much money, WHY is he still working? Did he blow all his money? Is he on drugs?

I received a call from this number on my cell phone. They left a message acting all excited about some great money making opportunity which I immediately erased before listening more than 5 seconds. I am on the national do not call list but it seems that our government is not doing anything to stop these cowardly criminal fools. I mean, people have been complaining about this number for 2 years now, and it is obviously a call center with a recorded message. What does it take to shut these idiots down?

Unwanted unneeded calls are a big interruption and an insult to anyone's intelligence. Stop this crap!

the do not call registry doesn't apply to businesses you've patronized before.  I've subscribed to the strib, therefore they can call me whenever.  And all the dang time.

They called my cell -- didn't recognize, didn't answer... then 30 seconds later they called the home phone.  Didn't even realize they have both.

Definitely Startribune... but they only call my cell phone during work hours which is frustrating on multiple levels.  First its rude to talk on personal cell phones in an office setting and second reception is mediocre so I can rarely hear them.

I've gotten no less than 6 calls in the last week...

Had 3 calls from this number in the past 24 hours....I've got my number on the do not call list...but this number still sneaks through

It is the Star tribune newspaper. Call back the number and ask to be added to their DO NOT CALL LIST. They will switch you to a automatic system and that will remove your number.

I've been getting random calls from this # as well, though when I called it back it didn't answer.

I just tried calling the number back and was connected to the sales office of the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper. They said they've been having issues with their phones. Regardless, it's telemarketing, 'cause as soon as I got that explanation, they threw the pitch at me.

Just got another call from this number, got 2 yesterday. I never get a person when I answer it, I just hear a click noise after saying "hello?" a few times, like they hung up or I was disconnected.
