have recieved several calls from this # but have not answered.
Tryed calling it back but nothing happens.

I answered the first time, they said somthing about Rogers I think and then it cut out. Have called me twice more with no message (in 24 hrs).

Just received a call from this number. Dead air. Said Hello a few times and no response.

They have called me once or twice a day for the past 5 days. No message, and a dead line.

It was Rogers (who hired a telemarketing firm to call their existing customers).  Rogers was offering me a deal on TMN.  

The delay is  them answering our hello is because the calls are queued to them and it waits until we speak to put the call to a telephone solicitor.

Received 2 phone calls already from that number. No message left on the answering machine

I saw GasMan's posting so I called Atelka and asked to be put on the no call list. We will see what happens. They have been calling 5 times a day lately. They didn't ask any questions, just got my number and apologized for the inconvenience.

They never called me back.. I guess I gave them a hard enough time that they put me on their no-call list

Well, I called in to Rogers Wednesday of last week, and come Friday no more calls from said number :)  I got myself "removed" from the Rogers solicitation list after explaining why.  But to top it all off, the Rogers rep, before ending the call...TRIED TO SELL ME MORE ROGERS SERVICES   LOL!!  

Oh well, a week later, it seems to be working out..  Let me know how others make out with this please!

It's a telemarketing company....  www.atelka.com  ....   super-annoying, they've assured me I'm now on their no-call list.... we'll see how that turns out.

Update:  Despite what I did as per my previous post, I have continued to receive calls from these folks.  Today I finally spoke with a supervisor who informed me that the actual company name is Atelka ....i.e  www.atelka.com  

I have receive further assurances that now I am really really on their no call list.... we'll see.

Also, Rogers had no idea what I was talking about when I called them.  Nice to know that the company giving out your personal information has no idea who they are really giving it to.

Every single day for the last 2 weeks, including weekends without fail.  Yesterday has jumped to 2 calls a day.

On the 2 occasions when I decided to actually answer the call, my line terminated within 3 seconds.  I'm going to try calling Rogers (the best assumption yet for a culprit) and have myself removed from their mailing lists.  Will update with an outcome, if there is one.....

After receiving a call earlier in the day and being subjected to 'on-hold' lounge style music, I just got a second call.  The caller advised that he was calling on behalf of Rogers for a promotion.... I asked him if he worked for Rogers or a marketing company and he let me know that he was calling from a marketing company based in Montreal.  I asked him to put me on the no-call list... he said to make sure I got taken off all the Rogers marketing lists (eg home phone, mobile etc) that I would have to call Rogers Customer Service at 1-888-764-3771.  Great way to spend my suppertime.

Just received a call from the number. Dead air, noone spoke after I said Hello a few times.

I've also received two calls exactly two hours apart from this number.. Gotta be automated marketing..

I received two calls from this number on January 14th, 2008 at 2:39 pm and at 4:39.  I find it quite bizare that it's 2 hours after each call to the T.

That number is still going around as I got a call this morning.  Did not know the 188 digits so did not answer and reading the post never will.

I received a call from this number claiming to be calling on behalf of Rogers.

I noticed that 416-188-8231 also exists on this website.

The agents name was Sophie. I tried to push Sophie into telling me who she actually worked for. She would just tell me "calling on behalf of Rogers". I pressed for her agent ID and she told me that she was not obliged to give me that information. She said the same thign when I asked for the company that she "really" worked for. She did however let slip "marketing firm" during the call. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she told me that they left for the day already.

I had about 4 calls from that number - didn't know it - didn't answer and never will

I have a sneaking suspicion this number belongs to Bell Canada.

Got a few calls from that number myself.  I don't even bother to answer.  Thank god for call display!

So far, we've received 3 phone calls from this number within 24 hours. Everytime, we answer, and there's no one on the line. Shortly after, the line gets disconnected.
