Liv  -  you clearly did not get what they do, and jumped to some inane conclusions.  If you were to actually answer and speak with them, you would learn that they pick up clothing and other household items and sell them to places such as Value Village to raise money for their organizations.  Of course they are not picking up used clothes for people with CP to wear!  Even if they were doing that, why look down on people who are trying to help others?

It is well and fine for you to say they should not call people, but I acutally liked when they called me right when I was getting ready to clear out my garage  -  they saved me several trips to Value Village by picking the stuff up for me.

For those complaining that they keep calling - answer your phone and tell them you have nothing to donate - they only call me about twice or three times a year for donations;  it is better than getting angry because they call and you don't want to answer

In Response to:  "Just like other telemarketers, they call my house very often, regularly. The caller ID said OFCP.(613.569.6948 the international Cerebral Palsy foundation?)  The other day, they called again during dinner time and  my family answered and they were asking for used clothes. If they are really helping people who have that disease, I might help them through their official events like CHEO does ...But my question is why do they need used clothing? The patients do not have enough clothes to wear? To sell them to make money?  I don't get it. If they really need used clothing for whatever reason to help those patients, they can officially ask the City or Salvation army or Value village for good help instead of making annoying calls...I always donate clothing to Value village or Salvation army...

The reality is nobody likes telemarketing calls and they should find out better way to get help instead of calling random people ...it's annoying...that might give people a wrong impression even if they were doing for good will."

Telemarketer
Duct Cleaner. I guess they've become so desperate at this point they actually think it's helpful to spoof the number of the Cerebral Palsy folks.

I can also report that these duct-o-marketers become inexplicably agitated when you enthusiastically talk to them for 5 minutes and then say "oh wait. Are you the same duct cleaning people that were featured on that documentary about scams?"

Please tell these people that they have to stop calling my number, as it is becoming extremely irritating, as it is now DAILY.  It is a form of harrassment, and it is making me ill.   I am a senior, and am entitled to a peaceful daily life.  Thank you.

They call me all the time too. I don't answer and they leave no messages so to hell with them. If you can't bother even that much, neither will I pick up.

I get frequent calls from this number - a legit charitable org - and have a workable solution for this caller and other unwanted calls: block the number, or, (if you lack that function/service) assign the ## to  a new contact e.g "JUNK CALL". Next time they call, either decline the call or ignore it. 90% of these semi-automated calls won't leave a message if your voice-mail service kicks in. You'll see a "missed call" but not messages to retrieve. Works for me, and my "JUNK CALL' contact grows & grows!

I too keep getting this number up on my phone. I do not answer it if I do not know who it is.  Most charitable foundatins do not do this so I believe this to be a scam.  Do not answer the call from OFCP.

I've called several times to be taken off of their list. It is a waste of time. A few months later they call back again. Same thing, dead air. Very very unprofessional. If and when I do have anything, they will not get it.
The DO NOT CALL list does not apply to charities, BUT, when you tell them directly to take your number off of the list, they are obligated to do so. Unfortunately the laws and the CRTC are one big joke. Call blocking seems to be the only solution to this nonesence, but of course that's another charge plus the damn tax!

The Cerebral Palsey Association hire call centres who get paid by the number of calls they make, irrespective of whether they are productive or not, hence the amount of repeat calls. They make the connection, someone answers, they get paid - great scam. Someone should tell the OFCP!

I received the call, but, I wasn't home.

My grandmother had a great response to receiving calls that were annoying and/or harrassing. Finally, one day, she had a whistle handy by the telephone and blew the whistle in the mouthpiece of the phone.  Yes, she didn't receive anymore calls.

Hello everybody,

I'm still receiving daily calls from OFCP.  Everyday during work hours.  It is extremely annoying since I work from a home office and sometimes they call while I have a client in my office.  I already told them approximately six months ago that I don't have anything, and that "I will call them" if I have anything to donate.  Yet, they still call everyday!

I don't know what to do anymore.  The CMA doesn't apply to non-profit orgs unfortunately so there's no legislation and therefore no enforcement to protect me from this harassment.  I don't mean to sound harsh, and I do donate quite often, but I donate to the MS society since m little sister has MS and I try to contribute to their research efforts in hopes that they will find a better solution for her than her current treatment of extremely expensive interferon injections.  She's a RN and can no longer work the same hours as she used to since the MS is breaking her down.

Sorry... got a little off topic there.

Hey all,
I still get this number, and it's calling me something like every 2-3 days.
It's annoying as heck, and ID says OCFP.
