Called me on my cell. How can we stop that scum?

It's possible that this is just a stage 1 phishing attempt. They don't identify themselves, and you have the opportunity to hit 1. When you do that they then jot down in their database that you are a possible gullible target, someone to peddle products to. That in itself could actually be their actual product. The whole credit story could just be a story just to measure to see if you respond.
They're just profiling you.
Once you respond, you go into another database and you get sold off to a range of actual other marketing slime.

They sadly don't indentify which company they're calling from / on behalf of.

One of us will have to have enough courage to hit 1 :)

Got a call from them on my office phone line (a I've never given away to anyone).

Generic eletronic recording marketting debt solutions.

If you can stand listning to the message long enough, they tell you to hit 9 to remove your number from their list. Lets see if it actually works.

Does anyone remember the name of the company for the 6136675300 number? I keep getting these calls on my cell phone, and I don't like companies having my cell phone number (I don't care if it's legal to give it out or not, I'm not happy about it). I'm trying to file a complaint, but it asks me for the name of the telemarketer company.

got calls on all my phone numbers, including unlisted numbers. all with same annoying message. We should report this to authorities! Punish this spammer!

This was suggested: Here's what to do if you get a call from these deadbeats:

1. File an online complaint with the CRTC: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng

2. File an online complaint with the federal Anti-Fraud Division: https://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/RECOL/login.aspx?lang=en

3. File an online complaint with the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Protection: https://www.consumerbeware.mgs.gov.on.ca/compform/english/complaint.asp

4. Call the RCMP in your province (see list on right for your province) and the national headquarters in Ottawa to report them: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cont/index-eng.htm

5. Write to them warning you will take them to Small Claims Court if they keep calling your number. Send the letter via registered mail so that you have a record for the courts. In the letter warn them they have been reported to the CRTC, RCMP, the federal Anti-Fraud unit and the Ontario Attorney General (Consumer Protection is part of the AG office) and put all numbers that they are calling and request a letter in writing from them or you will take them to court for violation of privacy (protected by provincial and federal law).

6. If they call you can hit *57 after the call to log that call with your provider's harassment division. This should be a free charge and if your provider charges you for it, dispute it. Telus and Bell offers it for free.
