I had been receiving calls for past 2 weeks and normally it was an auto dialer calling me on a Sunday night. Caller claims to be Small Business Funding Centre. Seems fishy that they would not leave a 1-800 # to call back to if it was in fact the gov't of Canada. Also, the calls prompts you to press "1" on you phone if you do not want a gov't grant or are NOT starting a business and want to be removed from list.

A couple more things sketchy about hte message. The recording makes several mistakes in setting his voice message but leaves them anyway rather then recording over the mistakes correctly. I doubt a government official would do this. Also, the message is in English only (normally Feds would have English and French message).

When I called back to the 613068601295 number, I pressed 1, waited and got someone live. When I explained why I was calling, she said an attendant would be back to me. Nobody ever called back. I called again. This time after pressing "1" I was asked to stay on the line and that I could expect "DEAD" air but to rest assured; someone would be with me. Next thing I heard all kinds of crazy electronic noises. So, I hung up. I thin ksomeone was trying to use my phone number to make long distance calls or something.

Wow why all the talk about how they contact you or you contact them what does any of that have to do with if their service is worth while. How does anyone know this is a scam sound like a bitching forum if you ask me no one has any idea if the service is any good. You try to find government grant information on the web good luck. Go to the library again good luck. Why don't you all b***h to your local government associates to make finding government information easier. Then you can get rid of these so called rip off places that you are accusing with no proof, so what if that place went through a couple of bad telephone reps. By the sounds of it people like you call and harass them lol

I received a recorded message from a woman from the Business Funding Centre about out Government Grant Programme.  The telephone number they gave me was 613-963-0473.  I spoke to a man who called himself Alan Logn and he ran through the entire schpiel.  He said, after asking me for my name and address, that I would receive a kit in the mail showing me how to go about applying for a grant, and it was subject to eligibility.  This would cost me $267 for this year, and $267 for the second year, etc.  He wanted me to give  him my Visa card number.  My guts started jumping and I said that I'd prefer to read it all over carefully before subscribing to it.  I told him I'd call him back.  Then I went to my computer to find anything about the Business Funding Centre, and saw many half-baked subjects presented in a half-baked way and decided to see if this was a scam.  I found this website and see that there are others that are uncomfortable with this "company".

Lately I signed up impulsively to Direct Buy -- and I have a feeling I've been had.  Any comments?  Please?  Thanks!

Thank you everyone for taking the time to inform others about these stupid things going around...after this long you would think something could be done...It's just overly annoying and unfortunate for those who are uninformed

I recieve a call from this number tree time. I call back and some one ask for my name and call number. I give this infos and he say that someone will call me back. I think that's strange. Better to keep all this away.

I got the letter from them saying that they would assist me in getting grants and loans.  So I called the number and the person on the other end wanted me to send him $527.00 to get the package from the company to assist me in getting loans and grants.  I asked him for references and he started to get nasty and said send the money or he would terminate the call.  I knew it was a scam and we should stop these people and get them arrested for defrauding people who are desperate for funding their businesses.

A lady called mid-day today, leaving excited phone message about a government funding centre, if an Ontario resident and owning or thinking of starting a small business - then I am eligible for grant and loans from the Ontario and Federal governments.  For more information, call 1-613-686-1295.  

It sounded peculiar (eg, a possible third party who takes a cut of govt grant in exchange for grant application advice?) so I did a number search on Canada411 and ended up on this site just now.  If legitimate, she should have left a 1-800 number as all departments do with both levels of government.  I would not call them back, and will just disconnect on any further calls.  No time to deal with this myself...

Same as with other people. I have twice received registered calls from numbers 613 216 9410 and 641 715 3900. Caller`s name Denis St. Jacques. I called him back  and they said they will transfer me in 30 seconds to an afficer. Then, the person on the line  asks for my phone number (but since they have already called, they have it) and my name. I gave them to him and he said (his name is Pierre) somone will call me in one or two hours. I called them back after 2 days since did not get any phone call back  and the person was upset when asked if they are legal company and in what city they were located. He said  they are in Ottawa but the head office is in Toronto and gave me a link where I will find all ansers to my questions. The page is  www.grants/loans.org.

Second time now - I get calls -The message say I am Sara - sorry I missed you !and it claim its calling from Small Business Funding Centre in Ottawa but the call display is a #, 641-715-3900. a SCAM - Is there a law to stop this people?

I recieve a letter from this company SBFC Small Business Funding Centre, stating I can be approved for a grant or loan. I know it is a scam and want their telephone number disconnected thank you. Their Telephone number is 1-866-800-2908

Just a note to say this phone number is dialing calgary residents now.

It seem many people receive call from 6136861295 with caller id 000-012-3456.
This caller id is use by Skype interconnect the caller use Skype to hide, i already place a complain with Skype customer service waiting for.

J'ai reçu un message aujourd'hui et bien sur, je suis convaincu que c'est fraudulent, notamment pour le manque de numéro sans-frais, ainsi qu'un manque de site internet. MESSAGE A BELL ET/OU LA C.R.T.C.: A quoi attendez-vous pour localiser et arrêter ces fraudeurs? Entre-temps, soyez averti tout le monde...ne leur appeler pas!

alors ils ont une option bilingue à leur message, sans toutefois avoir de numéro sans frais.  j'ai reçu ce message en français et le message était de très mauvaise qualité.  Je me demande toujours pourquoi moi???

automatic call stating they have money to loan on program from gouvernement but leave that number as a reference number to call back, they should leave a toll free number to call back if they really are governement

person called and said that they are with the goverment and
will gave information on what the fereral and provicial goverment

This is the third or fourth time that I've received a call from this Small Business Granting company.  The recording is very poor quality and annoying. I just called the number left 6136861295 and went through the prompts to get removed from the list.  It remains to be seen if we actually get removed.  The caller ID # that comes up when the call comes in is 000-012-3456 which is very strange.

1. These guys are breaking the law using an ADAD to call.
2. I contacted Bell first, who just try to sell services, then the CRTC when Bell after 45 minutes 'said' they couldn't do anything. (been thru this process with them before)
3. CRTC gave me Bell Executive office 1-866-317-3382 who after giving story, tracked the company's phone provider GT Group Telecom, as well as a couple numbers to call to be removed from their call list.
4. Provider is actually Rogers 1-877-484-5101. Lisa said she would forward complaint to abuse dept and have our number removed from contact list...told her that is fine BUT I also want this company's phone service terminated for violating the CRTC regulations using ADAD's. That way THEY have a consequence to breaking the law instead of people just hanging up on them etc. If THEY have to go through the trouble of getting a new phone line then THEY have a cost to incur!
2. Bell tracked their serviceCalled us earlier in month but when I picked up it disconnected adad message. ADAD Business Funding Centre 613 686 1295, Britanny Smith at Bell complaint c89903/800, She accidentally disconnected me so I called CRTC, he transferred me to CMA but these guys aren't members so I called CRTC back and he will have somebody call me. Britanny also gave me Bell email to have our number removed from Bell provided telemarketer lists at dir.ctr@bell.ca. Joline from CRTC called us and said call bell executive office 1-866-317-3382. Bell guy did google and found two numbers for being removed from business funding centre call list at 1-800-591-6541, 1-800-663-8525. They also have a website at sbfc.ca. Bell rep traced service provider to  gt group telecom contact number is 18774845101. Called that number and got Lisa at Rogers business solutions. She said they will contact them and have them remove us from call list and if we get calls after 4 days to call back. I said I want more than just removed, I want suspension of their service.  

Service is nothing but a SCAM imo because anyone can just call the provincial/federal government to get info on business grants!
